Overview

About the property

House in Chalmington, Nr. Dorchester, Dorset, England - Idyllic Rural Setting, Near Jurassic Coast And Historic Towns Of Dorchester And Sherborne

The Granary was rebuilt 8 years ago and affords spacious family accommodation. It has been designed with wheelchair users very much in mind, with level floor surfaces on the ground floor and a downstairs bedroom with en-suite wheelchair-friendly bathroom with shower. We are M2 accessible level accredited by Quality in Tourism. Parking for 4 cars is next to the Granary on smooth stone surfaces allowing easy access. It benefits from all modern features without losing its farm house charm. In June 2013 we installed a biomass boiler. There is a large sitting room with far reaching views of the Dorset landscape. The separate large kitchen is ideal for celebrating special occasions with family and friends. There are four en suite bedrooms. There are two patios for outdoor eating and far reaching views of the countryside. There are plenty of lovely walks from the property. There are great pubs and restaurants nearby, plenty of places to visit and lovely beaches to enjoy.

Super weekend.

The Granary is very well appointed and looked after. It was ideal for our family gathering, with plenty of space for everyone. Thoroughly recommend staying here. Excellent pub in the village just 1.5 miles away. It was lovely just to be able to explore the farm and for my sister's dog to be so welcome. Jason is an excellent host.

We had a warm and friendly welcome by Jason as soon as we arrived. Our granddaughters loved visiting the chickens and were delighted when Jason let them collect the eggs (which we all enjoyed!). Our granddaughters also enjoyed walks around the farm, especially the wood and being close to the sheep and horses. We brought some of the zwartble lamb home with us and all enjoyed the roast leg on Sunday The lamb is a lean breed and the first that the girls have ever actually enjoyed! All keen to go back to the Granary again!

Large clean space in a picturesque setting. Plenty of kitchen/ dining room area.

Loved the setting on a working farm. Expected to have to wear wellies but a dry, clean environment with sheep and chickens. Not too far from the coast for fossil hunting etc... and a village pub within walking distance. Highly recommended 😊?

A lovely property with everything you could need or wish for.

Our time in the Grannary was over all too soon.

The property and location was just perfect relaxation time.

Jason ( the owner) is the perfect host friendly and more than helpful.

The fresh eggs from his chickens were so good.

We just had to try some of the lamb after all the reviews and it was sublime.

All in all we will return to the Grannary as it is so good.
