The Granary was rebuilt 8 years ago and affords spacious family accommodation. It has been designed with wheelchair users very much in mind, with level floor surfaces on the ground floor and a downstairs bedroom with en-suite wheelchair-friendly bathroom with shower. We are M2 accessible level accredited by Quality in Tourism. Parking for 4 cars is next to the Granary on smooth stone surfaces allowing easy access. It benefits from all modern features without losing its farm house charm. In June 2013 we installed a biomass boiler. There is a large sitting room with far reaching views of the Dorset landscape. The separate large kitchen is ideal for celebrating special occasions with family and friends. There are four en suite bedrooms. There are two patios for outdoor eating and far reaching views of the countryside. There are plenty of lovely walks from the property. There are great pubs and restaurants nearby, plenty of places to visit and lovely beaches to enjoy.
It is a lovely part of the world. Beautiful countryside and near the coast.
You are near the beach yet in very pretty unspoilt countryside. This house is very well equiped, has full wheel chair access and is set on a lovely farm on the River Frome. You also have the option of camping by the river.
We had a wonderful family holiday. The accommodation couldn't have been better especially the kitchen table everyone gathered there in the morning for breakfast and made plans for the day. We made some very special memories which will stay with us for ever.
The Granery was everything and more. The outlook from the terrace was super and very restful with only the sheep and the birds to listen to. Apart from the children playing Badminton. Three generations all loved it and the dog loved all the walks. We would certainly visit again. (And the beef from Lucy was enjoyed on our first Sunday home). Jackie Davis
Cottage was larger than expected, very comfortable. Difficulty to find at first sat ab took us to the wrong place. But as I had googled the granary recognised the location. Plenty of room in all the bedrooms even for a 6ft 4 man although he had the upstairs double the other beds were too short, he would have had a problem in the twin room bathroom but otherwise an excellent place to stay for either a week or long weekend. Local pub in cattistock was lovely serving local cider and food. Would definitely recommend a stay at the granary.
Just spent a fantastic week at the Granary. It is a wonderful property in a wonderful location. The accommodation is very spacious and the facilities excellent, especially good for my husband who is disabled. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into furnishing and equipping the granary and there is plenty of information to ensure you make the most of your stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful place to use as a base for exploring the beautiful Dorset countryside. Hopefully we will visit again
We had one of the best holidays ever at The Granary. The house was extremely well equipped, well thought-out, spacious, very clean and extremely comfortable. The facilities were excellent for our disabled mother. It was such a relaxing place, so quiet and peaceful, but also within easy driving distance of many places to visit. Dorset is such a beautiful county. The 2 dogs were able to enjoy the outside area as it was completely secure. This was our first stay at The Granary but it certainly won't be our last!
An excellently appointed property in an ideal location with pleasant countryside views and easy access to many of Dorset's places of interest. The Granary is spacious and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. There was a warm welcome from Lucy, Peter, Ellie and Dilbert the orphan lamb. We particularly enjoyed being adjacent to a working farm and the local walks especially to the Hare & Hounds in Cattistock where the food was splendid.! A perfect property for families or like us, a group of friends.
