Why Ron Taylor-Walker chose Yorkshire Dales

Masham which is pronounced MAS HAM is a beautiful village and only takes minutes to walk to from the cottage. It has a lovely square. 4 Great Pubs. 2 Breweries and Restaurants. Come and see for yourself and like us, you will fall in love with the area.

Walkers, there are several walks that run along the River Ure. The cottage is the last house leaving the village so the walks are from the doorstep. Cyclists, the Tour de France passed by the cottage in 2014 so you can ride the same route yourself.

What makes this cottage unique

Great location. Beautiful walks. Wonderful village. Easy to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Short drive to Ripon, Harrogate and all the region has to offer.

Very nice cottage in a perfect location

The cottage is equipped to a very high standard and is perfectly located in Masham to enjoy the local walks and pubs. The 2 breweries are also worth a visit!

The accommodation suited us perfectly as we visited with another family and there is plenty of space for the children to play both indoors and outdoors.

The large kitchen diner was great for evening entertainment and the large lounge was great for the 6 of us.

This was our second visit and we definitely be returning in the future.

Fabulous

We stayed here over Christmas as a party of 4.

Right from the initial enquiry through to post visit contact, the owner communicated with me promptly and with all the information I needed, including a courtesy call just before we arrived. The payment process was very straight forward.

The cottage itself is set in the stunning village of Masham, not too far from the motorway.

It's a beautiful cottage, very modern and comfortable with ample space for everyone. The beds were extremely comfortable - in fact my brother said it was the best he had slept all year. There is a main bathroom and ensuite both of which had lovely decor. The bath is a good size.

The kitchen is very well fitted out with plenty of crockery, glasses and cooking utensils. A very modern gas cooker. Heaven. The docking station in the kitchen came in very handy when cooking Lunch.

There is a private patio which is ideal in the warmer weather.

The lounge has a large sofa, and a decent size TV with some DVD's to choose from. The owner was kind enough to put up the Christmas tree for us.

It's just a few minutes walk into the village where there are pubs and Restaurants and a small co-op.

Our whole stay was wonderful, and I can highly recommend this cottage to stay. Great location to explore the beautiful area.

Great weekend

This is a lovely house and a great location. We loved Masham and enjoyed the black sheep brewery tour and meal. The house is clean and well equipped. Communications from the owners spot on. We will be back.

Beautiful Cottage in a lovely area

We were very impressed with the cottage on arrival, decorated to a high standard, clean and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The orangery was a wonderful bonus. The views were amazing and we had lots of lovely walks down the nearby river and around Masham. Plenty of parking and a lovely garden space. We would certainly recommend this cottage and are hoping to go back ourselves later in the year.

Great cottage in a super location

Stayed at Avenue Cottage for an end of half term short break with my husband and three children. The Cottage was modern, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. All mod-cons; particularly liked the music systems in the bathrooms and kitchen equipment was extensive. The location is fantastic with just a short walk into the lovely village of Masham which has some great shops and places to eat and drink; we particularly liked the White Bear (my husband recommends the Barista stout!). The only issue we had was a faulty bath tap which the owner dealt with very quickly, sending a plumber out immediately who resolved the problem. Highly recommend, sure we will be returning.

Both Whitby (approx 70 miles) and Scarborough (approx 60 miles) are an enjoyable drive from Masham, over the North Yorkshire Moors.

Travel:

Getting to Masham: By car it is about 15 minutes from the A1. A car is recommended to enjoy the surrounding dales and to visit the local attractions. The nearest airports are Teesside, Leeds/Bradford, Doncaster Robin Hood, and Newcastle.

Distances:

The cottage is situated just a few minutes walk from the historic Market Square where you will find a Co-op supermarket with cash point, newsagent, chemist, Post Office, butchers, restaurants and various tea shops. Masham has two award winning breweries in the town. The Black Sheep Brewery and Theakstons Brewery, both have interesting visitor centres. There are beautiful walks along the River Ure, only a short stroll away from the cottage.

A non refundable £100.00 deposit is payable when booking with the balance due four weeks before the start of the trip. If booking within four weeks of your trip, the full payment is due immediately.

CHANGEOVER DAY:

Normal changeover day is Friday.

FURTHER NOTES ON PRICES - UNTIL APRIL 7th 2017.

£525 if booking 7 nights. £79.00 PN if booking 5 or 6 nights. £89.00 PN if booking 4 nights and £99.00 if booking 3 nights. Christmas, New Year and Easter will cost a more.

£30 per week heating supplement until March 31st 2017. For shorter Low Season Holidays the cost is £6.00 per day.

We are now taking booking for the whole of 2017 but prices can vary so please contact us for a quick response to any questions and a price. Please note, booking direct will always be the cheapest way to secure Avenue Cottage.
