|Minimum Stay||2 - 7 nights|
Large open plan living-dining area with south facing garden looking towards the Pisan hills. The living room has french doors leading directly onto the patio and private garden area. The first floor master bedroom, featuring a 17th century fire place, is accessed via a narrow stone staircase, previously used to connect the villa's kitchens to the public reception rooms, while the ground floor twin bedroom once formed part of the villa's kitchens.
Positioned half way between Pisa (airport 25 minutes) and Florence (40 minutes) , Borgo di Libbiano is ideally placed for exploring most of the historic sites of Tuscany. The fascinating medieval cities of Florence, Siena and Lucca can all be reached in less than an hour. Volterra, San Gimignano are reached in 30 min. The beautiful Tuscan beaches, Tirennia, Castiglioncello, Cecina are a 40 minute drive away. Libbiano is also a golfers paradise; 4km away is Castelfalfi the premier golf resort in Italy with 18 hole and 9 hole courses. The apartments are within a dedicated national park area where you will see deer and wild boar in the mornings. All four apartments have their own outdoor space and are fully furnished in a contemporary Italian style. The infinity pool and the terraces around it enjoy a superb view of typically Tuscan countryside. The apartments themselves have recently been restored to a very high standard.
Steven and Sheila Wastell have lived in Italy but now spend most of their time back in the UK having
completed a number of restoration projects in Tuscany. The complex is looked after by Benadetta who speaks excellent English, Italian and German, and her husband Carmelo. They live on site and will ensure that you are greeted on your arrival and deal with any questions you may have during your stay. A welcome pack of some essential groceries will be placed in your apartment prior to your arrival, and Benadetta is also happy to provide breakfasts or evening meals on request.
First impressions of Libbiano are the stunning Cypress tree lined road which winds up towards the apartments, we were met by the ever friendly Carl and Naomi with a welcome pack and lots of information on the area, where to go and eat etc. which proved brilliant information.
The apartments themselves are all beautiful, all different and newly renovated retaining traditional Tuscan architectural features like terracotta floors and beamed ceilings but balanced with contemporary kitchens, bathrooms and furniture. Also some of the apartments like the one we stayed in retain original features like a beautiful fireplace.
Found the apartments to be really central for visiting all the tourist places like Volterra (Twilight movies) and San Gimignano either before spending time at the pool or afterwards which kept the kids happy. Local towns are superb for eating and bar visiting also; wood fired Pizza in the local pizzeria's is just amazing.
The whole area is just stunning and there is so much to do and see. We caught the train to Florence from the local station which was really easy and is a must do on any trip to Tuscany.
Have recommended Libbiano to some friends who play Golf as Castelfalfi golf resort is minutes away and they love Italy.
Best holiday in years "5 star" and we will be back next year.
A charming spot on the top of the hill with amazing view of the of the beautiful Tuscan surroundings. Very nice practical flats of high standard with all you need for self catering. Very picturesque in a tiny Italian village with keeps its authenticity.
