Managed by Sansiri development of Hua Hin. by the beach and 200 metres by the main road. We are on the top floor with sea view of Kaoh Tao, with sunbath balcony, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, flat screen TV, fully fitted kitchen. The complex has multiple beautiful pools suitable for all age. It has beautiful landscape and garden and sit directly on beautiful quiet sandy beach. There are a few local restaurants and a few resorts. The complex has playground for children, fitness center, internet facility and cooking utensils. Although it is self-catering but order 'delivery' is possible by the local restaurants or Condo's Concirge Service. There are on-call taxi and bus system if you want to go to town which is 10 minutes away.
Two couples of Germany spent a wonderful time in Las Tortugas. All listing descriptions were accurate, it´s a comfortable clean location with nice and attentively stuff, helpful all the time. The owner was interested during the whole staying in our welfare. We had two bedroom each with bathroom. The living is comfortable, with an open kitchen.(We did not cook, found a lot around, nice restaurant nearby is Bao Tao.) The view from the balcony to the seaside and the fisher boats is really imposing night and day. Make a walk along the beach to the hillside location of the temple at Wat Than Khao Tao, which you can see from the beautiful designed garden with three pools.
The great seated Buddah image looks out to the seaside and you have an amazing view around. Later you can go by taxi around the hill to the south, where you find pineapple fields and the old town Pran Buri. The town of fisherman, who dry the squids outside. Don´t forget to eat a delicious fishmeal.
Las Tortugas is very quiet, if you want some more action, go to Hua Hin by taxi. Enjoy the night market, nice shops, a lot of restaurants or more night life. In the morning you should see the day market and imposing old rail station. Not far away from Hua Hin you can visit the Hua Hin vineyard, that was found by a young german winemaker, she studied winemaking in the Toscana, Italy. On an elephant you can make a walk through the yard or sit in the restaurant tasting wine.
The summer palace in Petchaburi is nice to be seen, on the way you can make a stop at the Buddah image in the cave with a lot of monkies on the parking. A very nice market with some young designers is the Cicada market (look for opening time). So many things you can study, but don´t forget to look for real traditional thai life and the friendly, helpful people. We loved to be in Thailand, staying in Las Tortugas. Many thanks to the owner!
It is a nice 2 bed room 2 bath room apartment. Small open kitchen with the essentials, wonderful terrace on the top floor with an amazing wiew of the property and sea. Enough space for 4 people. Clean and well kept. The Internet service which you can buy vouchers for in the reception was not very good. Poor wifi reception, on and off a lot and only one device per voucher. Beach is ok. Cleaner and calmer than most parts of Hua Hin, but non existant at high tide, large at low tide. Quite nice for children with shallow waters, but when it's windy the currents are strong.
The condo is in the main building, so close to garage/road, a 2-3 min walk to the ocean through the property. There is one resort with a restaurant next to the beach where the condo is, otherwise quiet. A few minutes walk from the reception there are restaurants, a 7/11, etc so for minor provisionings it works fine, for major things you may need to go to central hua hin. Good value for money, competitive pricing compared to similar condos.
If you want a busy holiday with lots of options khao tao beach is most likely not for you.
I am traveling with 2 Kids (12 and 4 years old)
Not far from main road, easy to find street food, can walk to 7-11 (24 hr. Supermarket) and there have ATM when you need cash. You can take private Taxi to Hua Hin City for 300-400 THB or one day Tour for 1500-2000 THB
If you are traveling with public transport from Bangkok, Easy to take Minibus direction Bangkok-Hua Hin-Pranburi then you get off Kao Tao Beach.
the property was indeed well thought out, well equipped and clean. The beach was quiet and clean, perfect for guests with small children. The pools were clean too, plenty of space for people to enjoy themselves. The gym and kid's play room were handy for rainy days and evenings.
There are small shops and restaurants nearby, as well as a 7-11 which was real handy, especially if you missed stocking up in Hua Hin. On Wed and Sun afternoons, there is a market at the local Wat/Temple (about 700m away) where you can buy vegetables, meat, cooked food, desserts, fruits and even some household items and clothing.
There are information and map in the folder in the unit, where you can find out about food delivery and places to go. I liked it that the kitchen was well equipped, the coffee machine was indeed a nice touch!
1. there was a large cooking pot and one small saucepan. It would be handy to have a middle sized pot/saucepan too.
2. some families may have small kids, perhaps an idea to have plastic crockery for them (there were plastic glasses). Perhaps a higher level lock may be installed for the balcony doors that the little kiddies cannot reach?
3. for rainy days/evenings, it may be an idea to have board games such as Crossword/Scrabble, cards, chess (there was a badminton set in the cabinet)
4. whilst I appreciate the quiet and the need to keep it as such, some guests may want to occasionally enjoy sporting activities other than swimming in the pools and the sea. Perhaps a list of info in your folder for kayaking, boogie boarding, banana boat, kite surfing. Or even to have some of these items available for rent from your reception?
It is indeed very difficult to find a combination of clean, well equipped, self catering, right on the beach. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and will definitely come back.
We were looking for comfortable beach front apartment for a two week family holiday. One of our party is a wheel chair user so wheelchair access was a priority and we spent a long time looking at various apartments to make sure they met this requirement.
The booking process was straight forward and the owner of the apartment was very helpful.
The apartment was very comfortable and there was plenty of room for the four of us. The complex is very clean and there is a very nice wooden boardwalk overlooking the beach with sun loungers.
The apartment is right on the beach, and a few miles out of Hua Hin town. It was very quiet and only about 15 minutes from the Market Village by taxi.
There is a Seven Eleven within a five minute walk of the apartment which sells a good range of basic items. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. I am not very good at directions but if you turn left at the road rather than go across the railway there is a small restaurant on the right hand side which serves very nice fried noodles and fried rice as well as European food. There is also another local restaurant which delivers and this can be arranged with the staff at reception.
Concerning wheelchair access there are lifts to all floors and there are only a few steps down to the main pool area and boardwalk with the sun beds. We did not hire a car but the owner was able to arrange airport pick up from Bangkok and also arranged for a local taxi driver to help move us round Hua Hin and also for excursions further afield.
We were looking for a restful holiday and that is what we had at this apartment. I would strongly recommend this apartment.
With three small kids, we normally stay at resorts when we vacation. We decided to try something new however and rented this property for our family vacation to Hua Hin in early April 2011. Whatever concerns we had were immediately laid to rest, as Jaieur and Weerapan proved to be very gracious and answered every question we had. The rental "process" also proved to be much easier than I had anticipated.
Unfortunately, a short two weeks before vacation I was in an accident, and my injuries prevented us from traveling. Broken foot, crutches, a spoiled vacation...ugh! Jaieur and Weerapan were once again incredibly gracious - with a doctor's note, they offered to refund the majority of our money and apply the remainder to a future rental. I didn't even have to ask and they certainly didn't have to offer. That's not only good business, it's good people being good people.
While we weren't able to visit Hua Hin, or visit the property at Las Tortugas, I've no doubt that the property and the experience would have been amazing. I would highly recommend renting from Jaieur and Weerapan - either their property in Hua Hin or in Phuket. If you're renting from good, honest, decent people, then your vacation is already off to a great start.
