A farmhouse full of character and intriguing history. Downstairs there are high ceilings and some impressive 16th century carved beams, as well as a Tudor fireplace upstairs, suggesting this was once part of a much grander building of high status. It has been recently renovated to provide a comfortable home, whilst retaining a farmyard feel. We keep our own hens and if they are laying you will be welcomed with some of their tasty eggs. It has the benefit of being right in the village, yet with lots of space and a short walk to the beach or stunning countryside. There are two pubs, a post office and store in the village.

Why Robert Browse chose Burton Bradstock
The owners have had a cottage in Burton Bradstock for the last 10 years. They bought Shadrack Dairy Farm in April 2011. It had been empty for over 12 years and became a labour of love to return it to its former glory and restore its place in the village.

Charming farm house
Shadrack dairy farm is a charming and characterful building, making a memorable place for a holiday.
Mark and Robbie were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.
The short walk to the beach makes it an ideal location, and there are pleasant places to eat out nearby too.
Wonderful Farmhouse Stay
Such a lovely farmhouse that exceeded our expectations. 3 generations, celebrating a 60th birthday, had a very comfortable stay here, very spacious and well equipped. Ideal location, lovely village well worth exploring, Local pubs v good, and post office and garage for daily needs. Hosts Mark & Robbie - credit to you both for such a lovely property and your hospitality. Thank you
Beautiful farmhouse great location
Shadrack is a very welcoming home from home, furnished amazingly and very relaxing, we keep coming back to Mark and Robbies holiday homes as they make you feel very welcome and there’s everything you could need in there property’s , the location is great too.
Comfortable, period property in a great location
The property was very comfortable and spacious, even with 5 adults and 3 children. It's a really interesting older property which has been tastefully furnished to be in keeping with its age. The weather was quite cold when we were staying and my mum really appreciated the Aga (on all the time) which made the kitchen really cosy. Everything was provided in the house from dishwasher tablets to soap which was really helpful. Burton Bradstock is an attractive village and we were impressed how the friendly people were when we went to see the church at Easter. The location is great with Bridport just 10 mins away and the coast on your doorstep.
We'd definitely consider coming back and would certainly recommend this property.
A home which we all agreed we would like to own
Our second stay at Shadrack which says it all, It was as lovely as we remembered, Clean with all the facilities you could want plus the Aga and wood burner, The owners Mark and Robbie were as friendly as ever and we now consider friends, There are 2 pubs serving great food in the village and both staggering distance, and of course hive beach a short walk away. In all we'll be back.
comfort and joy
Our children and grandchildren gathered, with my husband and I for Christmas at Shadrack. We all found the house to be clean, warm and welcoming. The Aga played a big part in that, and it also did an excellent job at cooking a 14lb turkey. The kitchen is adequately equipped to cope with Christmas lunch. There is a large American style fridge and an electric oven and hob.
The sitting room is comfortable and , to our delight, a fragrant and exquisitely decorated tree awaited us.
The dining room is narrow and ,when all seated at the large table , was cramped. However, this did not spoil things and the photo does show that it is a narrow room.
Bedrooms have an interesting mix of furniture and beds are comfy(too soft for some). The bathrooms are of a good standard.
Our 4yr old grandson was excited to see Father Christmas pass by the front of the house on his sleigh one night....magical.
Location is excellent with two pubs and a couple of shops close by and within easy walking distance of coast. There is also a good playground around the corner.
If you come with dogs the conservatory is a boon. There is also an outhouse with running water, to wash them off.
Shadrack is a comfortable, spacious home from home. Robbie and Mark are extremely helpful from booking stage onward.
We would all love to return one day.
