The perfect Positano apartment

  • 5 of 5

We could not have picked a more perfect place to stay. Yes, there's a lot of steps but if there's anything that's worth the view it's the 200+ steps to get this little slice of paradise. The views are to die for and the apartment is more than sufficient. Giovanni and his son are more than accommodating and they will give you a tour of positano but after a few days this piece of heaven will feel like home. I cannot wait to book this apartment again because Positano is a place you can't say goodbye to. I hope I get to host Giovanni and his family in America one day because I won't ever feel like I've paid my debt for allowing me to stay in his place and experience this beautiful know little town. If you're indecisive on this place I will be the first to tell you it's a dream and you won't regret it!

Great little apartment with one of the best views we've ever had

  • 5 of 5

We have just stayed in Giovanni's apartment for a week at the end of June. It was a nice size for two people with enough facilities for a holiday stay. The kitchen was equipped with a couple of hobs, microwave and fridge freezer (no oven, but we were eating out most of the time). There was even a washing machine in the bathroom.

The bed was comfortable and the apartment has air conditioning throughout.

As any reader will no doubt be aware there are 200+ steps up from the road to the apartment, but a) this is not unusual for Positano - you seem to go up and down staircases wherever you need to go; and b) you are rewarded with an absolutely superb view of Positano and the bay below - in fact if you look up from the apartment, the spot on the main Amalfi coast road where all the tour buses stop to enable their passengers to take the picture postcard photo of Positano is just above the apartment (although far enough above that you don't get any road noise).

As a previous reviewer has mentioned the parking available is at a charge of €20 per day in a public garage. We found with hindsight that a car wasn't necessary to visit the local towns - public transport would have been more than adequate (€2 to Amalfi on the bus or €8 by ferry both taking about 30 mins). The only time we really used the car was to drive to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius although there are plenty of other tour options available for these attractions.

Overall a great place to stay for Positano and the whole of the Amalfi coast plus Sorrento and the island of Capri.

Fantastic Penthouse Bosca

  • 5 of 5

After a challenging 223 steps you are rewarded with a spectacular view the villa had everything you needed the balcony was a great size with table and chairs loungers and stools also a shower spray that was lovely on a very hot day Giovanni was a great host and was so helpful and told us lots of the history of Positano and places to visit, and gave us a bottle of his home made wine, we do hope to return to Penthouse Bosca sometime soon

spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

This comfortable quiet, little penthouse villa had a huge balcony with a spectacular view of the sea and the houses nestled into the cliff side. Equally beautiful, day or nigh. It was certainly well worth the 233 steps up and down to the road level. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every moment.

Most Romantic Trip of My Life? YES

  • 5 of 5

Stop reading now and just make your reservation for this place! Okay, but still. A lot of properties in Positano are outdated or don't have that feeling of "polish." Giovanni's place is fresh, clean, and it has the best view you'll find on the coast. I actually LOST two pounds on my Italian vacation from climbing the stairs (which we learned to love). Totally romantic getaway for my husband and me. Giovanni was very responsive by email for our handful of questions while we were there. I am gearing up my penny bank to go back.

A wonderful place to enjoy Positano!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been happier with the host, Giovanni, or his incredible property. Giovanni was extremely helpful and accommodating (especially with our later-than-expected arrival), and the villa was perfectly tidy and well appointed. The views from the terrace were among the best in Positano.

The location in Positano was perfect for us. We found an awesome family-owned grocery store/deli (Latteria) just about 10 minutes away and also appreciated the proximity to Fornillo Beach, which is the quieter, more laid-back beach in Positano.

Having a great place to stay made our trip in Positano our favorite destination on our tour of Europe.

We will be coming back to Positano, and we will stay with Giovanni again!
