Rookery Nook is a spacious light and airey south facing single storey property attached to the owner's home. It is ideally located for those who wish to explore East Anglia. Providing private entrance, lounge/dining room with patio doors onto patio & garden, fully equipped kitchen, double bedroom (king size bed or twin beds) and loo/shower room, driveway parking, garden with built in BBQ.
Situated on the edge of the pretty market town of Diss. Many towns claim to be 'historic market towns', but there has been a market in the centre of Diss, for well over 500 years. The town was established around one of the deepest natural inland lakes in the country, known as Diss Mere and is 6 acres in size. The town centre comprises some excellent examples of Georgian and Edwardian buildings, the Mere and a number of thriving shopping streets, historic and quaint shopping yards. The Market operates every Friday on the same day as the auctions of T.W.Gaze (as seen on several BBC antiques TV shows).

Delightful holiday cottage
My wife and I have just returned from a two week stay at the delightful Rookery Nook.
The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and clean. A special mention for the garden and canopy where we enjoyed breakfast every day.
The location allows easy access into Diss where three large supermarkets, several good shops, cafes, a weekly market, several pubs and takeaways provided all we needed. It also is well placed for visiting lots of places within an hours drive.
The cathedrals at Bury St Edmunds and Norwich are well worth a visit, as are Cromer (do try the crab sandwiches), Southwold, Winterton on Sea for a great unspoilt beach (watch out for the seals heads bobbing up) and of course the Broads.
The hosts, Carol and Phil were very friendly and helpful, and that along with perfect weather gave us a splendid holiday.
Thank you Rosemary & Malcolm for your 5 star review. It was a delight to welcome you to Rookery Nook, and we are so pleased you had a wonderful time - that fabulous weather was a real bonus! Sounds like you took good advantage of all the great and varied places to visit in this beautiful part of the UK. Kind regards. Carol & Phil
Very clean and comfortable cottage, lovely and cosy with the woodburner in the freezing temperature!
We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at Rookery Nook. The cottage is well equipped, the bed is very comfortable and with the woodburner lit,is very cosy!We had snow and freezing temperatures, but we still managed to go on lovely walks with our Westie. So peaceful with a beautiful little garden, which I can imagine will be very pretty when spring finally arrives.Thankyou to Carol and Phil for making us feel very much at home in their cottage.
So glad you had a good time, despite the arctic conditions outside. Perhaps one day we can welcome you back during warmer times. Many thanks for the positive review. Best wishes to you both and Hamish. I never managed to get a doggy cuddle or meet you - sorry about that. Carol
Country Living, With Diss Town Within Walking Distance
We returned again to Rookery Nook to enjoy the tranquility of sitting in the garden under the canopy. The log burner makes the accommodation so cosy at night, makes me wish I had one at home! Rookery Nook has everything you need for a fabulous place to stay, the bed is really comfy. For a one bedroom property it feels very spacious.
We let the train take the strain to Ipswich where we had a most enjoyable time. Lots of places still to discover and so I have no doubt we will return. Thank you Carol and Phil for helping make Steve's big birthday a special day.
Aww thanks Bev & Steve - it was so lovely to welcome you back, yet again - quite one of our regulars! And to celebrate Steve’s big birthday too - we were honoured. So glad you had a great time, as you say Rookery Nook is becoming a home from home for you - splendid! Take care until we see you again. Warmest wishes Carol & Phil x
Beautiful cottage in Diss
I absolutely loved staying at Rookery Nook during my stay in England. Very comfortable bed, lovely kitchen and living area, and the pictures that don't do justice to how beautiful the gardens are in real life. Coming from America, and never using an electric cooktop, it was a bit of challenge cooking on that. The oven/grill was easy to use and I loved that there was a large fridge to use. On the whole I can't say enough how enjoyable it was to stay in the cottage, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Stay here many times now....love every minute of it!
Very nice and quiet getaway....pretty garden , sweet cottage , just right for two!
It's lovely to see you each year Jane. Great to have Graham with you this year. Sorry I didn't do so well with the weather! Take care until next year. Carol x
