About mrs velvet phillips

Hi we are Kevin and Velvet, we have made The Little Barn as comfortable and cosy as possible for your enjoyment. We hope you will love this area as much as we do. We are on hand if you need to contact us for anything we live in the cottage adjacent to The Little Barn, however we make a point of leaving you to enjoy your holiday in peace and with privacy, and have designated the front gardens and private patio area just for you whilst you are staying.

mrs velvet phillips purchased this cottage in 2010

Why mrs velvet phillips chose Wiltshire

We bought this property in West Kington as it is a beautiful area to live ,very tranquil, but with ease of access to so many other areas of interest, and remote enough from the madding crowds.

What makes this cottage unique

Whilst staying at The Little Barn you will have the convenience of staying in a lovely rural setting whilst being only a stones throw away from many visitor attractions, other villages/towns of interest. The Little Barn is a listed property, and sits adjacent to our home: originally a Beaufort estate cottage, which is an Historical grade two listed Thatched Cottage dating back to the 1500's.

There are signed walks throughout the pretty village and beyond.

We hope you will feel like you are part of the family, and aim to make you feel relaxed and comfortable at all times. You have parking directly outside the little barn for ease of unpacking etc.

The Perfect Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I had an absolutely lovely stay at The Little Barn for two nights in October. Velvet was an absolutely perfect host. She was very helpful and responsive in setting up our plans. She greeted us upon arrival and showed us around every aspect of the idyllic and picturesque barn. We immediately felt welcome and at home. Velvet has thought of everything in setting up the barn for guests, including our special welcoming touches. The barn was comfortable and cozy, with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and restful. We enjoyed having the full kitchen to prepare snacks and breakfast. The fireplace provided a welcome warmth at the end of traveling about the Cotswolds during the day. The Little Barn is in a perfect location for exploring the area, just about thirty minutes from everything you’d want to see. I can’t wait to return for another visit!

Enchanting place

  • 4 of 5

The Little Barn is a beautiful place to stay that could remember the classic English romance novel setting but with modern facilities. We spent few days visiting surrounding village and also cities like Bath. The property is clean and well maintained and the owner provided an excellent customer service. We recommend this property. A perfect getaway! Thankyou so much

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at 'The Little Barn' was wonderful! Kevin and Velvet were very friendly and informative, but what made our stay really special was the little personal touches they provided, excellent hosts and lovely people. The Little Barn is set in a gorgeous garden, so peaceful, and the BBQ area was great! Eating outside was just lovely. The barn itself was perfect for what we were looking for. It felt very cosy, the wood burner was great in the evening, the bed was incredibly comfy and everything was clean. One of best things about our stay was that not only was the Little Barn set in a beautiful little village (great for walks), it's also in a fantastic location to explore other attrations, we will definately come back. Thanks again Velvet & Kevin, you have given us a lovely first impression of Wiltshire and memories we will have for a lifetime xxx

Owner's Response: Thank you Claire & Jackson! It was lovely to meet you both, you were excellent guests! and we are so glad you chilled out and made the most of everything on offer. It is good to know that people other than our friends and family feel that The Little Barn is so lovely, and that there are so many visitor attractions within easy reach. Hope to see you both again, and next time bring your bicycles. Many Thanks Velvet Phillips - Owner of The Little Barn
