Our brand new eco cottage is built in the heart of the lovely village of Badby. Built to a very high standard it uses natural material finishes where possible. It has two bedrooms with flexible sleeping layout (twin or super king to master bedroom), two bathrooms, comfortable lounge, fully fitted kitchen and sofa bed. The property benefits from the very latest heating technologies featuring a Hanson Formpave Themopave ground source heat system,plus solar powered hot water and underfloor heating throughout. Just a short stroll to two great country pubs which serve real ales and home cooked food.

There is off road parking in the private courtyard plus additional parking in the extremely quiet cul-de-sac outside the cottage.

Hi I am Val Harrison. I have lived in this lovely village for 15 years and cannot praise the location enough.I have just completed the development of this brand new property and wanted to share it with others. I have worked at the village school for 10 yrs and have now changed my career and have set up my own dog walking business. I live very close to the cottage so I can be at your service if needed

The village is both quiet and has an amazing central location which is within easy reach of all of the towns listed above. Both the village pubs offer a welcoming atmosphere with great food and real ales.

The cottage offers the benefits of a picturesque cottage with it's stone walls,slate roof and wooden picture windows but with the bonus of modern, highly efficient Eco living space inside. In addition to the latest technology in Ground source heat systems and solar hot water heating, there are Oak doors throughout, solid Oak floors to the hall and living areas. Natural Travertine tiles to the bathrooms and top quality fittings including the kitchen.

There are a selection of books to read plus playing cards and board games for those quieter days or evenings. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are included and will be changed as required. Other: The entrance hall has coat hooks and also feature solid Oak flooring. Outside is a lockable storage box for muddy boots. There is one allocated parking space to the rear plus additional parking available to the front of the cottage.

Great property with everything you need

Booked last minute but the cottage was ideal, clean, modern and with everything you need in it.

Quiet location with a great pub on the doorstop.

Would happily recommend to anyone.

Excellent place to stay

This was our second stay here and have enjoyed both visits immensely. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable indeed, with all the facilities we could want. Rather than use the sofa bed, we have taken our inflatable bed for our second child which works better for us in the evenings. We have found everything to be well maintained and kept perfectly clean. The owner is very helpful and friendly, going above and beyond what we would expect to make us feel at home.

The location is excellent with many attractions within an hour's drive, including Blenheim and Stratford-upon-Avon. The immediate area is peaceful with a very nice pub around the corner and some good walks.

Would definitely recommend.

Location fantastic, quiet and peaceful

Cottage average however very hot and stuffy, bed very soft and uncomfortable, attempted to use the sofa bed in the lounge however was very old with thin mattress. Towels were replaced with fresh ones however old towels were left in the bathroom. Checked out several days earlier than planned due to severe heat which resulted in sleepless nights.

Owner's Response: Thank you Bev for your review. I value my reviews, so I can make everyone's stay enjoyable. Unfortunately we cannot control the British weather, and you chose the hottest June since 1976. Therefore even with the fans provided, everyone in the uk suffered from an uncomfortable nights sleep. As you mentioned the location is fantastic and peaceful. So you could have opened more windows to let in some fresh air. I am a little disappointed you didn't contact me directly as I could have provided you with more fans. Regarding the towels, the cottage is a self catering accommodation with washing machine etc. As your stay was 10 days I popped some fresh towels in as gesture and assumed you would still be wanting the other set. I am sorry for the misunderstanding. Thank you for my feed back and happy to say I have just bought a brand new state of the art sofa bed.

Lovely light and well-equipped cottage in good location

We very much enjoyed our stay in Badby. I stayed there with my mother and nine year old son. Valerie the host was extremely welcoming and helpful and lives just near the cottage so is very easy to contact and get a hold of . There were various minor issues during our stay with electrics, internet etc (just bad luck, not a reflection of the cottage which is well maintained) which she dealt with and sorted out extremely promptly. We enjoyed a couple of good meals at the pub furthest from the cottage where the staff were lovely and the food and ambience great.There are some lovely walks around and just outside of the area, nearby and into the woods.

Just a minor comment it would have been useful if the bathrooms had been just a little better equipped with mirrors, shelving etc.

I would highly recommend this cottage, it is in a great central location.

There are numerous walk in the area including the Knightley Way which runs through the village and the adjacent Badby Woods.

The woods are famous for their Bluebells in spring and are home to numerous species of wildlife. These include Muntjac Deer and Badgers.

Silverstone race circuit is just 18 miles away and is accessible through local country lanes to avoid much of the traffic that is a an unfortunate part of major events there.

Althorp House, the family home of Princess Diana is 12 miles from us.

Sratford Upon Avon with it's many attractions is only 26 miles away, whilst Warwick castle is just 20 miles.

Bicester Village, the now famous Designer Outlet shopping experience is 31 miles away and is easily accessed via the M40 motorway.

We are centrally located and only 15 minutes from the M1 and 20 minutes from the M40 motorways.

Confirmation of booking is finalised upon receipt of our completed booking form. A deposit of £120 per week or £50 for part week is payable in advance with the booking form. The full balance is required 4 weeks before arrival unless the booking is less that a month before,in this case full payment will be required.
A credit or debit card will be required as security in the event of breakages.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible. Arrival after 2pm. Departure by 11 am on final day.
Long term rental rates by negotiation.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
