The town is a short walk away and the Spar grocery is just around the corner.

About Jennifer Chard
Owners Nick and Jenny have three adult children. We all love holidaying in Salcombe with the family, as well as spending time at Cornerways with our friends. We live and work just outside London and enjoy taking weekend breaks down in Devon to get away from the stresses of our working life, enjoying the hustle and bustle of the busy summer months, but equally the peace and tranquility offered in low season.

We have been holidaying in Salcombe since the 1970's, and in 1998 decided to buy Cornerways. It is a lovely family home, in a good location being set about 5-10 minutes walk from the centre. There are great views and good inside and outside space.
What makes this House unique
Three separate reception areas means that those wishing to watch TV can be in a separate location from those wanting to socialise in the dining room or conservatory. The conservatory also offers a feeling of being outside when the weather is not ideal, whilst still enjoying the views. Our newly constructed loft suite offers a large bedroom with ensuite shower room and a sitting area with views. This can be a lovely refuge for grandparents who wish to have their own space. Apart from the lounge, downstairs is not carpeted. This accommodates our guests who like to bring their dogs away with them. We have private off street parking for three cars. The Spar convenience store is just around the corner!

Lovely property with outstanding views
Staying at Cornerways really made it special for us as we were down in Salcombe for a family wedding. To have a very comfortable property like this was perfect for the weekend. The snowy conditions made walking a challenge but we managed those hills even so!

A lovely house - perfect for family holidays!
"Cornerways" is an impressive house, situated in an elevated position with superb views over the Salcombe estuary. The house is very well equipped, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean throughout. It is also very spacious, light and airy. We all felt very much "at home" as soon as we stepped inside, and it was a perfect venue for our celebration holiday with our extended family of ten, (+2 dogs)!
There is plenty to do and see in the Salcombe area, with the added bonus of increasing fitness by walking the coastal paths and up and down many hills in the town!
We all enjoyed our stay very much, and highly recommend this superbly appointed family home.
We rented this house for a family reunion and it was all we could hope for, spacious, clean, homely. Everything was available and well equipped from coffee machine to games. Wonderful conservatory and even though there were nine of us there was ample space for everyone to chill. The house is high above the town with lovely views but to walk to can be difficult for the less able and hard work with a push chair, but there was adequate parking in the town.
We Thoroughly recommend this house.
Special interest holidays: Being an area of outstanding beauty there are plenty of beaches and countryside nearby. The National Trust Property, Overbecks offers wonderful coastal walks. Salcombe is well known for its sailing. Coast/Beach: The beaches on the other side of the estuary, Fishermans Cove and Mill Bay, can be reached by the ferry. For those who enjoy a good walk North Sands is about 20 minutes away. Meals and refreshments can be obtained from The Winking Prawn. South Sands is a little more challenging with the hills, but can be reached on the South Sands Ferry from Central car park. There is a hotel on South Sands providing food and drinks, and also a cafe and watersports centre. Please be aware that some beaches operate a May to October ban on dogs. Travel: Exeter airport is about an hour away, Totnes and Plymouth railway stations are about half an hour away. Distances: 5-10 minute walk down to Salcombe (maybe a little more on the way back!) Kingsbridge 7 miles Further Details: The nearest shop is the Spar, just a couple of minutes walk away, on Loring Road. The Post office is also located here.There is also a shop at Malborough petrol station which is about a 5-10 minute drive away. Larger supermarkets (Tesco and Morrisons) are in Kingsbridge. Salcombe has a great butcher, bakery and fishmonger, as well as Cranchies sweet shop. There are numerous restaurants and pubs in the area.

Booking Notes: PLEASE NOTE: TO HELP PREVENT FRAUD I ALWAYS SEND A BOOKING FORM IN THE POST. A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before your holiday, along with a refundable security deposit of £200. A maximum of two well behaved dogs would be accepted, provided they are fully vaccinated and wormed. There is a surcharge of £25 per dog. Changeover Day: Friday, although some flexibility in low season. Notes on prices: Sleeps 10. Prices include bed linen and beds will be made up on arrival. We will accept an extra child (bunk bed) for this there will be a surcharge of £100. Guests are requested to bring their own towels. Bottom sheet only is provided for the travel cot mattress, please bring other bedding.
