Everything we could have dreamed of!
We we’re a party of 14 adults that spent the week here and the property was everything we could hve wished for and more. Amazing outside space, fabulous pool, big bedrooms, lovely bathrooms and everything that you could need in the property including pool toys, amazing welcome drinks, a kitchen equipped with everything and a great selection of games & big tv. So much space that we never felt on top of each other. Would love to return.
This party of happy guests quickly came to appreciate everything that Neveges had to offer, and made the most of it !
Great house and great location
So much space for a large party both inside the house and on the terrace, pool, loggia and large garden. Did not feel crowded even with 12 people.
For those who don't know the south west of France this is a lovely location with lots of midieval hill towns to discover, secluded places and little restaurants and cafes.
We had a wonderful time
We had a fantastic and relaxing time, some of us are looking to come again!
Perfect winter escape
Our family Christmas at Neveges was a never to be forgotten experience, and one we would most definitely like to repeat. We really had to pinch ourselves repeatedly when we arrived, the house is absolutely stunning, and we happily lost ourselves in its many rooms, each of which is decorated beautifully.
It really was the perfect setting for christmas, walking around the misty grounds then settling in for meals in the fantastically equipped kitchen, or getting cosy around the roaring log fire. There was so much to do inside and out, and we even had the opportunity to play croquet and table tennis on sunny days.
The owners have really thought of everything and we really hope to make it back there one day soon!
A very special house
We had a really wonderful holiday at Neveges, the general family consensus was that after holidays spent in five or six different villas in various different areas of France, Neveges was the pinnacle and we would all very much like to return in the near future. It is a beautiful house in a glorious location. The house was immaculate and many thoughtful extras were provided by the owners which made all the difference.
Our extended family, being ten of us, ranging in age from 18 months to granny and grandad, had a wonderful surprise on arriving at Neveges - the house is breathtakingly beautiful ! The owners had considered all the different age groups - masses of toys for the small children, dvds and table tennis and boulles and bicycles for the teenagers. The huge garden was a delight as was the beautiful swimming pool area where we had most of our meals. The family enjoyed the walks in the surrounding countryside. The attention to detail in everything in the house was incredible. The owners met us on arrival and departure.
Neveges is midway between the Atlantic (Arcachon) and the Mediterranean beaches (Narbonne) but being at least 2.5 hours from either the house is not suitable for a beach holiday.
Toulouse is 80 kms / just over an hour away. Other possible airports are Rodez or Bergerac (1.5 hours), and Bordeaux or Limoges (2 hours +). Car(s) hired or otherwise are essential. Driving from the Channel ports takes 8 to 9 hours.
Molieres 3 kms, Castelnau Montratier 9 kms. Major tourist centres of Cahors, Montauban and Moissac are about 35 mins away.
This corner of Quercy where Neveges is situated, with its secret valleys, is the real ‘France profonde’ that those who have endured the traffic jams of the Dordogne or Côte d’Azur hot-spots will love. Yet the cathedral cities of Cahors and Montauban, Moissac on the banks of the Tarn, the hill-top towns like Lauzerte dating from the Hundred Years War, Montpezat, the 3-star Pech Merle and Gouffre de Padirac cave systems, Rocamadour, St Cirq Lapopie, St Antonin Noble Val (location for the film Charlotte Gray) and Bonaguil Castle can all be visited in half a day. Toulouse with its superb historic centre, Carcassonne, Sarlat, Cordes and Albi deserve full day expeditions.
Full details of an excellent local caterer, restaurants, tourist attractions, shops and services, estate agents, together with recommendations for golf, riding, canoeing, walking, tennis, fishing, the nearby leisure lake with beach and boating, shopping for foie gras or the renowned wines of Cahors and Quercy will be found at the house, together with a welcome pack of wine and armagnac.
