Well equipped, this apartment has exposed beams and is bright with a large west facing living room. It is within a few minutes walk of a number of famous sites including the Pantheon, Sorbonne, Jardins du Luxembourg and St. Michel. Near the metro, it is handy for other parts of the city and very close to typical parisian shops and a market (three days a week). You will be warmly welcomed.
The properties belong to an Anglo/French family. My husband and I bought the properties in 2003 and decided to restaure them and transform them into comfortable and welcoming places for you to stay. We brought up our two daughters there for 8 years and then spent 6 years in Paris, but after my husband passed away last summer, I decided to carry on managing the properties and to return to Honfleur. I get help from Amanda and Craig Ferguson, who also live in Honfleur and organise everything if I'm not around. We are all committed to making sure that you stay is memorable and that you leave determined to come back.
Honfleur is a beautiful and picturesque town and the properties are ideally located, only 10 minutes walk from the harbour and the town centre, and in a peaceful 5 acre ground.
We stayed at this property during our trip to Paris at the end of May and were very happy with the accommodation. The location was great - very central and conveniently close to Metro stations, shops, supermarkets and also very reasonably priced restaurants. The apartment itself was ideal for us. It felt spacious, comfortable, light and airy. The kitchenette was small but had absolutely everything you could possibly need and was perfect for us. My only slight criticisms are that no linen was provided for the sofa bed for my daughter to sleep on. We found duvets and pillows in the cupboards but no duvet cover, sheets or pillow cases unfortunately. Also, we did not receive the promised welcome pack of Le Petit Marseillais toiletries, which isn't a big deal really, but at the mention of this we hadn't packed many toiletries of our own and therefore had to go out and buy some for our stay. These are however both quite small points and neither of these things would prevent us from booking this excellent apartment again.
Clean and spacious apartment, with partial view of Notre Dam out the window. Great neighborhood, walking distance to many restaurants, stores and amenities. Hoping to stay here again on next visit. Really enjoyed listening to the small radio, picking up various French music shows. A very comfortable apartment, that we really enjoyed. Perfect for a visiting couple.
We have just come back from 5 days in this apartment. Wonderful location and really easy to access central Paris.
The apartment was clean but a bit shabby and needed some attention. There were numerous light bulbs that didn't work, 5 in the front room, and we couldn't get the hall lights on at all. The kitchen didn't have any serving utensils and no sharp knives at all.
The fixture for the shower was not fully attached to the wall and moved easily.
The 'concierge' service was hopeless. The young man who opened the apartment and handed over the keys arrived when it was convenient to him. We had to wait one and a half hours for him. He stayed for about 2 minutes and promised to text us some useful information which never arrived.
On the morning of departure we rung to say that we were ready to leave, a little earlier than planned, he didn't answer the phone or text us back.
Really poor and I will check that this service is not being used for any future bookings.
Little bits that just niggled us.
We loved Isabelle's apartment. It was conveniently located, had a market across the street, restaurants within a few steps, and a metro station a block away. The apartment was comfortable, quiet, and fully stocked with all of the essentials, including a Nespresso machine, fruit, cookies, jam and even a bottle of champagne for New Year's Eve. The apartment is right down the street from Notre Dame. Because we were so close, we could visit the cathedral early with no lines. It was a perfect spot. It is perfect for vegetarians, as there was a delicious Thai restaurant right across the street, as well as two excellent vegetarian restaurants within two blocks! We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this apartment.
We had excellent contact with Isabelle and she was very helpful before and during our stay. She speaks English, which was helpful to us. The location was very safe and the building was very secure. You can easily get to all locations around the city within a few minutes on the metro. It is a great location! Everything is nearby. I
This is a delightful apartment, very French and very well equipped and comfortable - the bed was very comfortable! It was a 5 minute walk to the metro, with shops, bars, market and restaurants nearby yet quiet at night & with the shutters closed it was very dark so we slept really well! Notre Dame and the Seine are all a short walk away & we particularly recommend trying Berthillon sorbet and ice cream on Isle de la Cite, stunning! The owner was very pleasant in all our dealings with her, very helpful and friendly and some nice touches added to our stay e.g. there were fresh oranges, milk, butter, jam and wine along with coffee, olive oil etc for our use. The owner sent a list of recommendations and information to us which was really helpful & was available by email/phone throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this apartment to our friends and will stay here again the next time we are in Paris - the only downside we found were the steps but the nearness of the street markets and metro made up for this. Having a bath as well as shower is a definite plus for us.
