Beautifully restored Trullo with 6 cones located in the lovely village of Coreggia approx 2km away from Alberobello, the capital of the Trulli. The village has a couple of Bars, Restaurants, Post Office, Butchers, General Store and Bakery. The property has it's own 10m x 5m Pool, Bar area, Shaded areas, Patios (3), BBQ and has Mosquito nets on all windows and most Doors, set in it's own olive grove
There is a short 50m walk to the entrance from the parking area
Stewart, one of the owners lived in Italy 20 years ago and developed a love of the Country and the language - Puglia is where Stewart & Christine spent their honeymoon and they fell in love with this area, the people, the architecture and the food !!! We want you to enjoy this as much as we do .........
Mr Stewart Rowlinson purchased this farmhouse in 2004
We visited a bar and got talking to the owner and how beautiful the Trulli were - he took us across to the derelict property in the next field and we instantly fell in love with it, despite it's poor condition ! We visited many Trulli over the next few months (with return visits) and still couldn't get this property out of our heads and decided to buy and restore. Thjis took approx 3 years and we love our house and hope others will enjoy it as much as we do !!
The majority of Truilli in the area are placed in areas that require car hire as a minimum to travel around the area to eat, drink and shop - our Trullo is placed in it's own private olive grove but within 5 / 10 mins walk to the village which makes it an ideal location for lazy holidays, with easy access to taxis which are very cheap. We have found that it is a lot cheaper to do this rather than have a car sat on the drive for the majority of the holiday.
It is also very unusual to be able to sleep 8 people in a Trullo, without having to take up a living area - all bedrooms are private and with the 3 bathrooms make it really easy for getting ready to go out into worn of an evening (ladies love this !!)
Minibus taxis into Alberobello - @ 10 to 15 euro return - seats 8 people
"An idyllic spot. True peace and calm for a fantastic week in such a beautiful place. The neighbours were very friendly, especially when explaining which bar to go to for the cheapest beer ! Perfect to spend all day by the pool and a perfect hub for visiting all of the villages. Locorotondo in the evening is very special. Please let us come back soon" - Sian Barker - July 2013
"Relaxed and recharged as a result of a fantastic week in this beautiful Trullo. We enjoyed market day in Alberobello (Thursday), our excursion to 'Grotte di Castellana' and eating out in Coreggia at the Hotel Donatello" - Gail Lumsden - July 2013
"We knew from the website pictures that we were in for a treat but 1st sight of the Trullo took our breath away ! The rooms are well equipped & more spacious than anticipated, with days spent swimming in the fabulous pool - it was so tranquil it was hard to believe how close the local shops, bars & eateries were - a must for all chill seekers" - Audrey Douglas July 2013 & August 2014
I had a wonderful holiday at the Trullo, with my partner & our 2 adult children. A truly unique property with a home from home feel. The outside areas are fabulous, outside soft seating, 2 eating areas one by the BBQ another around the pool area. The pool, although very cold, was very refreshing & clean. There is a bar around the pool area with a fridge and freezer. The kitchen, although small has everything you need. The sofa in the living area was incredibly comfortable and large enough for the 4 of us to lounge about.
The wifi is excellent, the various music players are a great idea, there are loads of sockets which was very handy for charging all our gadgets. The mosquito nets were very effective. There is a smart TV, but we didn't turn it on instead we made use of the well stocked games cupboard. We had very hot weather, so made good use of all the shaded areas. The trullo is very cool and we didn't miss not having air conditioning. Plenty of towels & pool towels were provided. Very handy to have a washing machine, with 2 lines hung between trees to hang out your washing. The Trullo is an ideal base for exploring the many pretty villages and the coast near by.
We had a wonderful time and I would like to thank Christine & Stewart for lettings us rent their home.
We had a beautiful week.
The trulli were my family and it was almost heart-warming to live on this holiday.
Stewart has beautifully renovated the place!
We had a very memorable holiday ...and thank you for all!
We hope to return soon!

We had a lovely stay and the weather was beautiful...very hot but made cooler by the pool which was fantastic and extremely well maintained. The floodlights were very useful and enabled us to eat on either of the two terraces at night.
The trullo and its grounds were enchanting, the olive groves very pretty and romantic.
We needed another fan due to the heat wave and this arrived promptly the next day by a very friendly electrician.
Lots to see and do in the area, we loved Cisternina, Monopoli and we found a lovely beach nearby.
We were quite a large group so the two fridges and huge pool freezer were great. A cafetiere and a few more serving bowls would have been useful.
I loved cooking and was delighted to find courgette flowers in both the local supermarkets, these are delicious stuffed and fried then served with ice cold prosseco!
We had a very memorable holiday ...and thank you for the delicious puglian wines!
Sarah, Mike,Rob, Maresha, Ian, Theo, Toby, Charlotte and Tom...who learnt to swim in your pool.
Fantastic destination, the swimming pool and shaded terrace was a definite highlight of the holiday. The pool was an excellent size for the 8 of us and kept very clean. The trullo remained cool even though the temperature sometimes hit the 40s during the day. Many interesting evening excursions to Locorotondo, Martina Franca , Oustini and Alberobello. Simple but very tasty cuisine. The rep that greeted us and Stuart were both very helpful and attended promptly to any enquiries during our stay. An excellent choice.
We had a very good stay at La Civetta and it was popular with both generations. The pool was a great success. We would certainly love to return.
We thought the layout was fine and enjoyed the relative privacy but also liked the fact that it was not too remote. We had an interesting afternoon with some neighbours who were harvesting peas from an adjoining field. Filippo told us he had lived there as a child. They offered us the chance to buy their field too!
Everything at your trullo was fine and when there was a problem Chris sorted it out very promptly and efficiently. (on arrival the hot water needed to be turned up and the wifi was not working at the start).
You cannot expect to have no criticism but the only one I can think of is that the loo seats on the older loos need repairing/replacing.
We thought the location was excellent - being so close to Alberobello is a great advantage and you are also not too far from the coast.
Thank you for providing such a lovely holiday home with such good service from Chris and Alison.
