This is a newly built, five bedroom villa in the exclusive costa smeralda region of sardinia, playground to the rich and famous. The property is set within half an acre of grounds and is not overlooked by any other properties, ensuring complete privacy to guests staying at the villa. The setting is idyllic. Guests will find it hard to drag themselves away from the balcony where you can watch the eagles and red kites soaring above as well as woodpeckers pecking at the trees in the wooded area of the garden. A swimming pool is being installed across April and May 2013 and will be ready for stays from June onwards. It's only a 10 minute drive to the nearest beach at La Cinta, with a plethora of other beaches also close by. La cinta is wonderfully safe beach, ideal for children. It is also a 20 minute drive to the famous Costa Smeralda and San Teodoro. Inside, the owners have ensured that the property is equipped with everything guests may want or need during their stay.
I am a mother with 2 children, age 9 & 12 and a very busy husband! I gave up work with Procter and Gamble 9 years ago to spend time at home with the children. I have loved being able to spend so much time with them. However, with both children now at school, I was keen to start working again. I initially enjoyed managing two of our own holiday properties in the Italian Lakes which we bought in 2008 and 2009 following our first visit to the area in 2007. However, I have now started to manage holiday homes for others, not just in the Italian Lakes, but elsewhere in Italy through my website - I carefully select each property and ensure that I maintain that personal but professional service level that I believe holidaymakers are looking for.
This is a lovely location, wonderful and peaceful and not overlooked by any other properties. Yet, it's only a 10 minute drive to the nearest beach at La Cinta and it's close to the villages of Biasi and Padru which offer plenty of choice when it comes to restaurants, bars, agriturismos and supermarkets.
The owners of this property have taken great care to ensure that it really is a home from home, providing everything guests could possibly want or need during their stay. Bathrooms are equipped with state of the art showers - the master bedroom even has an integrated jacuzzi bath and steam room - whilst the living areas and generous sized kitchen are equipped with all the gadgets you could wish for.
Special interest holidays:
For the sailing enthusiast, there are some great sailing and racing competition held in Sardinia each year organised by the nearby Costa Smeralda Yacht Club at Porto Cervo, founded by the Aga Khan. The most well known are the Sardinia Cup, an interntional deep sea championship held in even numbered years and the Settimana dell Bocche, a summer race for speed boats from all over Italy. In the odd numbered years the old harbour at Porto Cervo provides space for 50 or so vintage boats. This event is usually followed by the world yacht championship for boats in the maxi class.
There are fabulous beaches and coves around the North East Coast of Sardinia with white sandy beaches and incredibly warm water in the Summer. 10 minutes drive away, La Cinta beach in San Teodoro is the closest to the villa. It is also a safe beach for children. There are numerous other beaches and coves that take anywhere from 10 min to 20 min to get to from the villa. There are plenty of activities on the beach to enjoy including snorkelling, parasailing, paragliding, sailing and canoeing.
Sardinia is served by Europe's major airlines, including BA, Meridiana and Alitalia. Low cost flights are also available from Ryanair and Easyet. In addition, many charter flights operate in the summer. The island has 4 airports. The nearest airport to the property is the Costa Smeraldo airport in Olbia just 15 minutes drive away. The airport at Fertilia is 2 hours away as is the airport at Oristano whilst, if you don't mind a longer transfer time, the one at Cagliari is 3 hours.
The nearest village is Biasi which boasts a pizzeria and bar. Two kilometres away is Padru, which has a couple of restaurants and a choice of bars. These certainly offer good value and are cheaper than nearby San Teodoro where guests will be able to party into the early hours if they so wish!
Sardinia offers a wealth of activities to enjoy. If you can tear yourself away from lazy days lying in the sunshine on one of the many beautiful beaches, or fancy something a bit more active, there are a host of water sports around the coastline from sailing to scuba diving and windsurfing. Boats and windsurfing equipment can be hired at several places nearby and lessons can also be organised if required. If you like the water, but want a break from the beach, then head to the nearby waterpark which offers plenty of great slides and swimming pools for both children and adults alike to enjoy. Outdoor activities are not just confined to the coastline either. The interior of Sardinia also offers lots of opportunities for outdoor sports whether its horseriding, rock climbing or walking. The towns around the property are worth a visit. Porto Cervo is the heart of the Costa Smeralda and is a holiday destination favoured by the rich and famous who come to this area to enjoy the beautiful scenery and fantastic nightlife. The town offers some great opportunities for shopping, as well as some wonderfully quaint squares where you can enjoy a drink and enjoy a spot of people watching. There is also a wonderful selection of restaurants and nightclubs. Baia Sardinia, Arzachena, Sassari and Canniggione are also worth a visit. A holiday on Sardinia would be incomplete without a trip to the Maddalena Archipelago, 7 islands off the NE coast. You can take a boat trip to Maddalena, the most important town in the archipelago and from there visit Caprera where the Italian hero, Giuseppe Garibaldi lived and is buried. Please ask for more details if you would like any information on what there is to see and do during your stay.
