About Colin and Maggie Gordon
Maggie and I having been living in Germany for the past several years, prior to which we lived in Rutland and remain very fond of our quirky little county. The locals are friendly, the countryside is very attractive and there's plenty to do and see - Multum in Parvo (the county motto -Much in Little). We very much hope you find Waterend Barn a charming place to stay, whatever the weather and season. With best wishes, Colin and Maggie Gordon.

Wonderful cottage in a beautiful spot!
We had a fantastic 3 night stay in this exceptionally well equipped cottage. All correspondence with the owners was brilliant. The house is really lovely with big bedrooms and lots of space throughout. We were 4 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog and there was ample room for us all. The boys loved the top bedrooms and area all to themselves. Two great showers. Lovely big beds. Easy parking. Extremely quiet location, Belton in Rutland is very charming. The local pub has a great garden. We had lovely long walks all from the doorstep as well as venturing further for more walks. Lots of shops/pubs in Uppingham a short drive or 4 mile lovely walk away. We had a takeaway delivered from there one evening which was helpful.
Visited Oakham, a very nice market town and walked around the isle on Rutland Water ( around 5 mile loop) which was very nice.
Can’t fault this cottage / break at all, many thanks for having us!
Emma and her family have been great guests and we are very pleased that they enjoyed their stay so much.
We spent three nights here as a joint 60th birthday celebration, and it couldn't have been more suitable. The wisteria was out, the weather was super and the cottage so comfortable and well-equipped. Loved having two bathrooms, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Top marks!
Lovely home in a great location
We had a great stay. Everything was in a great condition, plenty of provision, and really welcoming. The owners have been very helpful and I would recomend it in a heartbeat.
Chris' family and guests stayed over a very wintery weekend, so we're pleased it worked out well.
