Cottage "Noce" in Casole d'Elsa - the perfect estate for couple and families
- english, french, italian
Hi everyone! I'm Federica and Podere Monti is my home and my passion. I live here with my family and always we are dedicated to our house and a rural hospitality service always more complete. Here you can feel love and passion because hosting is not just a job, but a vocation. Podere Monti is a farmhouse that dates back 1600 and it has been completely renovated in the last 25 years. It took a lot of effort and sacrifice but now we are here and we want to share it with you. The property consists of the main house where there are 3 spacious and well furnished apartments, always retaining the typical Tuscan style of the old buildings. Not far from the main house there are 3 cottages , even those obtained from the renovation of the original buildings of the 1600s and a few meters on there is the swimming pool with the panoramic view over the hills. We are always available for the guests throughout their stay and if you like it will not not lack tips to visit the big cities and the small towns of our region ... without forget some gastronomic visit, because you know.. in Tuscany , good food is not a problem! We organize real Tuscan cooking classes for our guests in our old farmhouse. Let yourselves be enthralled by the beauty of the area, from the goodness of food and the warm Tuscan hospitality. Welcome to Podere Monti. Federica & Family

Why Federica chose Val d'Elsa
You don’t have to go far to discover the beauty of Tuscany, just 1 km from the gardens of Casa Podere Monti, you will find the charming little town of Casole d’Elsa. You can walk into town after dinner for a delicious gelato or pizza, a leisurely coffee or just to watch the town as it comes alive under the stars. The position of Casa Podere Monti lends itself to visiting all of the monumental sites in Tuscany while still giving you ample time to enjoy the pleasant gardens and refreshing pool at the estate. The city of Siena, with its spectacular cathedral and town square, is an easy drive. You will also find that the road that leads to San Gimignano and Volterra will provide you with lots of new vistas and scenic surprises.

The Noce Cottage was very nice: tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. It was great to have a table in the kitchen area for everyone to enjoy their breakfast together. We were 4 people- 2 adults and 2 children under two. My daughter loved the big terrace and exploring the garden.

Our Tuscan dream
Well equipped cottage with well-maintained garden and shared pool set I a tranquil village on the edge of Casole d'elsa. From the garden and the pool we had a wonderful view over the Tuscany. Owners are nice and care about all the thinks we asked and about the whole place. We recommend this place all persons who love the Tuscany and who would like to know the way of living in the Tuscan.
We thank You, not only for choosing us but expecially for your affection and loyalty towards all of us.
It is always a pleasure to welcome you and your family. As you know, all we all want is to make our guests feel as part of our family and to read that everyone felt our warmth and friendliness makes us so proud...

Cottage Noce - the best!
We spent a week here in September 2016. It was part of a month-long holiday in Italy and this was by far the best part of that month! The cottage is 250-year-old building restored by a master craftsman in true Tuscan style. The furniture was comfortable and chosen to blend with the decor. Having a kitchen to cook in worked very well for us. We loved the proximity to the charming towns Casole as well as the many hill towns in the area. The property is so peaceful and the pool was exquisite with a lovely view . We will return again I am sure.
Thank you very much for such a lovely review!
We are so so so happy to have had you and your family here and we are so glad that you enjoyed our location close to the village and the region in general.
We hope to have you as our guest again,
Our Kindest Regards

The highlight of our trip to Italy
We cannot say enough good things about Podere Monti.Everything exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a lovely Cottage ( Noce) and fell in love with the cozy feeling of our room and the little reading nook overlooking Tuscan hills. The pool was another plus! The nearby town was also fantastic. We hope to come back again.
thank you so much for your stay here and now for your lovely review.
Hope to see you again soon

A beautiful cottage in a great location with amazing views of the Tuscan hills but not quite perfect
Let me first of all say, this old stone hayloft has been beautifully converted into an ideal holiday cottage - the perfect size for us & our two kids. It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay including two bathrooms with excellent showers.Secondly, the views at Podere Monti are stunning & we have never enjoyed our morning coffee more than sitting outside as the sun burst across the breathtaking landscape. What's more the view from the swimming pool terrace is even better where you can see the ancient stone towers of San Giamagno on the horizon. In fact the pool terrace is idyllic with a good sized, fresh water pool - like the photos suggest. Also, Podere Monti is just a 20 mins stroll (1km) into Casole D'elsa for a lovely evening meal. OK, it's a steep road but is well worth it especially when the restaurant Dal Brigante awaits - definitely the best of the village options and has exceptional views - we ate there twice as it does all the Italian classics brilliantly.
Now the negative bits:
If you think this maybe a cottage with it's own private pool then think again. The cottage description is a little misleading. There are 3 to 4 other apartments/cottages on site all which have complimentary use of the pool terrace. We were certainly taken aback when we arrived, indeed one family checked out the morning after they arrived, due to their dismay. In the the end we made good friends with the other resident families so we still had a great holiday. However, had we known the shared nature of Podere Monti before then me may have considered other options - just be aware.
The beds and pillows are hard. I like a firm mattress but these were extreme. Whilst they didn't stop us sleeping the beds could certainly have be more comfy.
The rules - there are too many. For starters, you are not allowed to take any bottles, glasses or plates to the pool side. Not ideal when we would have liked to enjoy an alfresco lunch and a refreshing beer poolside. Also, the pool was closed and locked from 7.30pm. OK the owner liked to clean and refill the pool with fresh water but when you are on holiday you should feel free to enjoy an evening drink whilst overlooking the sites best feature - the views.
Our cottage BBQ was small and inconveniently located and the other larger BBQ situated near the pool was pointless as poolside eating is forbidden.
All in all, it's a wonderful place but it could be made perfect with some refining and easing of the rules.
