About Darrell Davies

I was born and live in the town of Tenby, Photographer, sailor with past career in hotel management, marine and the offshore oil/gas industry. A member of the local harbour community and sailing club. A walker and boat angler. I am always available to help in any way to ensure you have a nice holiday.

My hotel management experience makes me understand how important customer enjoyment is, and I aim to provide a good service.

This property was bought for it's fabulous panoramic views over Tenby harbour and Carmarthen Bay from the lounge bay window. Professionally converted from hotel to private apartments with perfect location near the high street shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. It is double glazed making it a quiet centrally located apartment. Sitting in the Bay window overlooking the North Beach and Tenby harbour at dawn is a once in a life time experience. The property has been recently refurbished with modern oak and leather furniture. Located on the third floor the apartment is remarkably quiet. The bedroom complete with fitted wardrobe and double bed has views over Tenby's old town walls towards Penally village. Separate bathroom and kitchen make this a comfortable spacious residence for two persons.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Strictly: No Smoking or Pets and 2 persons maximum. Heating/electricity included in price. Parking, several choices including the pay and display public car parks with a daily charge of £2.00. Tenby (within the town walls) is pedestrianised between 11am and 5.30pm daily during the main school holidays in the summer. Arrival from 2 pm. Departure 10am. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen, pillows (2 per person)and duvet, bath mats and tea towels are provided. The property is cleaned prior to changeover (Saturday) In order to reduce costs we ask you to bring your own towels. Other: Hallway with clothes hooks and shoe rack.

The View is even better in real life

Firstly it was lovely to meet Darrel, he is such a lovely friendly man you immediately know your stay in Tenby is going to be a good one. Darrel lives locally so he is a mine of information about the local area.

The apartment is on the third floor.....yes a lot of steps up to it but the view is worth every one of those steps. It will take over your whole week......and it is also far more reaching than you see in the photograph. You have views of Tenby Harbour and views over the North Beach.....and by the end of the week you will know how the tide ebbs and flows because you won't be able to take your eyes off it.

The apartment itself is a warm and comfortable haven to spend the week. There is everything there you need (including a hair dryer and ironing board and iron). Both my OH and myself agree the King size bed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in on an Owners Direct holiday and we have done quite a few of them now. The apartment is quiet, the heating if you need it is very efficient, we were never cold, and one thing I did notice is that there was no condensation anywhere in this apartment which you might expect in an older building.

A lot has been said about Wi Fi......we didn't take a laptop with us, just mobile phones and a tablet. We have BT internet at home so we can log into a BT hotspot without any charge.....The BT hotspot worked well for us in the apartment, it did drop out a few times but generally just for reading the news and e mails it was fine. It isn't a secure internet connection though so you don't want to be doing any internet banking or ordering from Amazon on it. This is something Darrell is looking into.....it depends what you need on a holiday really, hotspots work fine as long as you don't need a secure Wi Fi.

We only live an hour away from Tenby so we are very familiar with it.....our favourite pub is the Hope and Anchor, on a sunny day the beer garden at the Buccaneer is great for a glass of wine or a beer. We had a really nice meal at the Bay Tree and going further afield the Carew Inn by Carew Castle does very good food. Also if you like Cantonese the meal for two at the Tasty Chef around the corner from the apartment fed us for 3 nights !!!!!

As for day's out from Tenby.....St David's is fabulous and Newquay on the West Coast is a quaint little harbour village with shops and eating places. Also Dale, an inlet by Milford Haven is a little place of tranquillity!

Nice apartment with a superb view

We have just come back from our two weeks stay in Darrell´s apartment. We had everything we needed . Darrell picked us up from the station and explained everything to us. We had a lovely stay, enjoyed the view and would like to come back one day! The picture cannot show the whole panoramic view we had. The flat is in the middle of Tenby but it is very quiet.

Special interest holidays:

The monastic Island of Caldey is 20 minutes boat journey from Tenby Harbour. Tenby is the host to the Iron Man Wales triathlon event which takes place on 16th September 2012. Boat angling can be arranged with the owner.

Coast/Beach:

North Beach is right in front of the property with Tenby Harbour 1 minute walking distance. Tenby has five award winning blue flag beaches and two nearby Islands.

Travel:

2 Hours from the Seven (M4) bridges, 3 miles from Saundersfoot, 4 miles from Manorbier with it's beach. The Pembrokeshire cliff path passes the front door. 1 hour from the cathedral town of St. David's which is the smallest city in Britain. 20 minutes from Stackpole and Bosherston Lakes a lovely estate managed by the National Trust. Tenby has both rail and coach links to all major destinations and airports.

Saundersfoot 3 miles, Pembroke 10 miles, Carmarthen 27 miles, Cardiff 90 miles, London 256 miles, Heathrow to Tenby 4 hrs, Bristol Airport to Tenby 2.1/2hrs, Cardiff Airport to Tenby 1.1/2hrs.

A Tesco Express (open 6am to 10pm 7 days per week) is 2 minute walk. Sainsbury's supermarket is 3 minute walk. All restaurants, Pubs, banks and shops are within a 3 minute walk.

Tenby is a great location to explore Pembrokeshires natural beauty, a walker's and nature lover's paradise.

The offshore Islands of Skomer, Skokholm and Caldey Island are well worth a visit to see the beautiful sea birds and seals.

There are many varied boat trips available to explore the beautiful coastline and visit the Islands.

The local bus company has a coastal bus service to visit the various bays including the world famous 'Barafundel Bay' which was voted by 'National Geographic Magazine' as the second most beautiful beach in the world!.
