Ners House Rental Photos and Description

House in Ners, Gard, Languedoc-Roussillon, France - with wonderful garden

The Maison Guardien is self contained, sleeps 4 and is attached to the beautiful main house which was built of stone in the nineteenth century by a producer of violets. It used to house the Guardien or farm workers in days gone by. Ners is a little village on the Gardon river about 25km north of Nimes, and 20km from the medieval market town of Uzes. 2 bedrooms (one double, one twin) bathroom, kitchen and living room. Access to a stunning pool (13mx 6m) shared with the owner, when in residence. Use of the enormous garden and your own small private terrace. Well equipped: Washing machine, dish-washer, barbecue, Linen & Towels, high chair & Cot. Wood burning stove. Wi-fi internet.( can be slow due to rural location) Tennis in the village. 40 minutes to Nimes Airport and TGV. 55 minutes to Montpellier and beaches. 30 minutes to Cevennes mountains. Due to steep stairs it is not suitable for people with mobility problems, though we do add a stair gate for toddlers.

Suitability:
  • children welcome

About Patrick Cadell

Hello. We have owned this property for over 20 years, during which time we have lovingly restored it while keeping its character intact. We live in London with our son and try to spend as much of the summer in France as we can.

Patrick Cadell purchased this house in 1990

Why Patrick Cadell chose Anduze - Cevennes Piemont

The unique position that looks across vineyards with no other buildings in sight. Yet also having a central location in the village. The unspoilt village ideally situated within easy distance of the hills of the Cevennes, the sea, Nimes and Uzes

Tranquil location

  • 4 of 5

We spent a lovely week in this tranquil location. The pool area was a fabulous place to relax after a day of exploring the fascinating sites nearby. The lovely town of Uzes is a must. Patrick, the owner was so hospitable and so informative of the area and the history of the house. We felt truly rested from our week in Ners. We would want to stay again.

Charming idyllic property with authentic charm

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday at Maison Du Guardien. The property was as described very spacious and clean. The garden was beautiful and the pool, supplied from a fresh water spring is simply stunning ..The view across the 16,000 bottle of wine vineyard was a real delight.

Day trips to Anduze ,Nimes and Uzes were within easy reach .Canoeing under tha Pont Du Gard is a must .

The owner Patrick and his family were great hosts always available for advice.

Overall,we would thoroughly recommend this property and would hpoe to return one day.

Our French Home

  • 5 of 5

Having first discovered La Maison Guardian in 2012 we have been every year (including as part of our honeymoon!) and so this should speak volumes in itself as we are a well travelled couple who like to explore new places. The property is everything we dreamed of in a French holiday home, decor, facilities, location and local aminities, and as soon as we arrive we relax and don't want to leave. As an added bonus we have had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with Patrick (owner) and his family. When we have the time we often talk about buying a French holiday home the only problem being we have the found the ideal one, and may not be able to ever compromise now.

so lovely we went back a second time

  • 5 of 5

We had fabulous holiday staying at Maison du Guardien. The house itself is beautiful, full of character and extremely comfortable. It feels much more like a home than a holiday rental property. The garden and pool are simply stunning. We have 2 children (5 & 11) who just delighted on being able to swim, trampoline and search for wildlife just outside their door. The owners were extremely helpful and helped make the holiday even more memorable. They helped us find the best places to visit and were a source of immense local knowledge. This region of France is fabulous to explore, Uzes, Nimes, Arles were all easy day trips and well worth a visit. We enjoyed our holiday so much the first time we went back the following year. Very highly recommended.
