After looking for a villa in Turkey and trying out many resorts we fell in love with Uzumlu, with it being the unspoilt, un-commercialised traditional Turkey, yet in a prime position close enough to whatever type of activity or day out you want. Being 500m above sea level the lack of humidity and breeze is a welcome bonus on hot days. We looked at many villas to find the perfect holiday home before finding Oasis, the villa, the pool and of course location could not be beaten! There is a superb choice of restaurants in close walking distance to the villa, therefore ensuring no one has to drive especially when a 500ml Efes beer is significantly cheaper than tourist locations. Additionally there is a dolmus (bus) stop close by the villa with regular buses to Fethiye and beyond. A car is handy but not essential due to the frequent services of the dolmus. The pool is a huge bonus to us, with 87 strokes from one end to the other.
I live in Kent, England with my wife Rachel, I work for a City Law firm in IT and Rachel is a Sister in the NHS. We bought the villa late 2011 after falling in love with Uzumlu and the surrounding area as it offers the ideal holiday destination.
Jason Hubble purchased this villa in 2011
Uzumlu is a haven of tranquility but close enough to the main resorts on the turquoise coast. Uzumlu hasn't been spoilt by tourism and is traditionally Turkish, not much has changed in the last 100 years, however still has everything you need in a holiday, we even have a wine bar now and are spoilt by excellent restaurants. We looked at all the Villas for sale and loved Oasis as its the perfect holiday villa. The open plan downstairs has such a great layout for families and the pool is such a winner with all. Many of the villas we looked at were only accessible with a car and weren't close to the village and restaurants, Oasis is!
The location and the awesome pool ! In the hot months being 500m above sea level has its benefits, the breeze helps. We like that you can walk to over 8 restaurants and the bus stop very easily.
“This was our third visit to Uzumlu but our first stay at the Villa Oasis; it was by far the best yet. Luxury and practicality combine here to make perfect accommodation for couples or families of all ages. Some very thoughtful touches give the villa a homely feel. The local people are so hospitable; they clearly want you to have the best possible holiday.Thank you Jason and Rachel for your help with arrangements and for opening up your Turkish haven for us to enjoy. We will return... no doubt about it!”
First time to Turkey and to Villa Oasis – have really enjoyed our stay here in sleepy Uzumlu. The fact we were the only people in the villas was great plus as w had the 50m pool to ourselves (perfect for 4 noisy kids!).
The villa itself has everything we needed – the girls were especially impressed with all the hair care equipment!! Also, we really appreciated the fact we were met on arrival and that there was a welcome pack of tea / coffee etc waiting, especially as it was midnight by the time we turned up. Small touches like that make this villa such a superb find – easily one of the best places we’ve come across.
We have had a fantastic time in Oasis Villa in Uzumlu!! What a beautiful place, both the villa and the sleepy village. We are friends of Jason and Rachel and I believe this was their largest booking to date.
The villa is so well equipped and so large that we felt like we were home from home. Great for kids and babies as we had plenty of those.
We went on a boat trip with Deniz (Aegian Soul) recommended from Trip Advisor. It was well worth the trip. he does private boat hires and we were able to go with the little ones. We had dinner in the village at the Grape Garden and it was AMAZING. Sat on the rooftop and the food was great.
Metin the villa management was amazing and organised transfers for us to go to places as we were such a big group. Guray who works at the "Lup Lup" restaurant is also lovely and very helpful. The food there is nice and cheap.
If going to Fethiye market on Tuesdays, go early. It gets very hot and is almost unbearable. Uzumlu is perfect as the weather here is slightly cooler.
The pool is amazing and Rachel & Jason have so many swimming equipment which is fabulous. We just wanted to spend all day in the pool!
Would love to come back again. Thank you soooo much Rachel & Jason , we absolutely LOVED our stay in your beautiful villa.
We have just got over the depression of having to return home from this perfect villa. We arrived late but were met at the door by Metin who showed us around and also provided us with milk, bread, butter etc which came in handy after a long journey, there was even tea and coffee to use (even though our transfer guy did stop at a garage and let us stock up on a few things which was extremely helpful). The villa is amazing everything we wanted, peace and quiet and a fabulous pool which we basically had all to ourselves for two weeks !!! There is nothing you need in this villa, there's even some hair straighteners !!!
There are some amazing restaurants in Uzumlu and I have to say they were all great....but we did have a slight soft spot for The Secret Garden...may not be a top notch restaurant but the food is amazing.....home made butter and cheese made by Grandma all from the cow which you can hear mooing next door - the kids thought it was brilliant and such a welcoming place and so cheap!! Also Lup Lup a cafe in the little square is a great friendly place and highly recommended as is Eddie's and The Grape Garden ! We did eat at most of the eateries but these were our favourites.
I would most definitely return to this villa, just waking up on a morning and looking at the view from our bedroom was just fab but for some families they may find it a bit remote but it's cheap to hire a car so don't let that put you off. We found a short cut into Uzumlu and liked to walk there and caught the Dolmus buses into Fethiye etc. We went on two boat trips the best by far was a boat called "Happy Days" it was great and run by a guy called Akif...so lovely and friendly. The other one was from Olu Deniz, the boys preferred this as there was more for the kids to do on it !
We look forward to returning one day.......
Rachael and Jason you should be very proud of your beautiful villa.

The villa was extremely clean and well maintained! Lovely pool..kids absolutely loved it!! I would highly recommend the villa to friends & family. Very spacious and comfortable. Very near to lovely town, Uzumlu, that has great restaurants and bars. Everywhere we went was very friendly and welcoming. Easy to hire car to get to nearby Fethiye and Oludinez which are both very lovely places to visit.
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VILLA!!!
This was our third holiday in Turkey and we wanted something a bit different so was recommended Uzumlu being close to everything but a traditional Turkish village. We choose Villa Oasis initially for the pool which was amazing, the kids were never out of it. The villa was superb, everything had been thought of, like hair tongs etc. There was a Xbox that kept the kids happy and good Wifi for staying in touch. Everything was very professional, from the booking, to the transfers arranged by the owner to the villa manager Metin meeting us, there was even a welcome pack provided. My husband said it was like home from home rather than a rental property. You only have to look in the guest book that echos our review.
Park Alya was our favourite restaurant about 5mins walk from the villa, we also hired a car for a few days from LIF in the village for £20 a day and loved the day at Sakikent Gorge. We are coming back !
Very good clean and away from the busy port .the villa has all that you need and more we were more than happy .the kids loved the pool and we loved the peace and quite .good resturants in walking dis ,and bars with WFI . Five stars
Uzumlu is 500m above sea level so comes with a welcome breeze on those hot and sticky days. The closest beach is Calis beach, approximately a 15 min drive away.
Dalaman airport is 45mins away. Car hire is not neccesary as the villa is centrally located to the local amenities within in the village and is also served by local Dolmus buses to Fethiye, then onto surrounding areas. The village town square is close (10-15min walk). Most restaurants are within walking distance. Transfers and car hire can be arranged.
20 min drive to Fethiye
5min walk to closest restaurant
10-15min walk to Uzumlu village centre
5 min walk to the nearest bus stop
There is a sat nav at the villa for your use whilst on holiday. We have pre-programmed a lot of handy places/destinations to make life easier for you. Although it is very easy to get about, this means you don't need to rely on a map reader !!
Uzumlu is fortunate to boast an exceptional selection of excellent restaurants.
As all come with our highest recommendations, we will list a few of our favourites what we think are the highlights to each restaurant.
The closest restaurant to the villa (5min walk) is Park Alya. The food is great, price good with a lovely al fresco dining area. A pool table can entertain the kids.
Cadianda (on the main road) do the best fajitas, and again have a lovely al fresco dining area, with a pool table and hammocks to keep the kids amused.
The wine house is in the village and boasts high quality food. Tuesday quiz night is a must, as well as the live bands every Saturday evening.
They all sell good food at Turkish prices, this certainly makes a difference! In 2013 a 500ml Efes bottle of beer was £1.90.
Nearest large supermarket is KIPA(Part of Tescos) in Fethiye or the Carrefour, however there is a village supermarket with everyday essentials, fruit, vegetables, fresh bread etc. There is also a garage 2 minute walk from the villa that sells fresh bread and everyday essentials. You must try the bread, delivered fresh twice a day (one loaf 25 pence!)
There is a childrens park area in the village with a slide, swings etc.
The villa is surrounded by fields with olive trees, fruit trees etc. On the walk up to the village you will often see traditional farm holdings, complete with friendly locals.
