Magical break in wondrous location and surrounding
We are a family of three generations who stayed in the property for three nights over a long weekend. We were given the warmest welcome by both Vicki and the house - I truly cannot recommend both enough!
The facilities and location were outstanding in every way. We loved the light, bright airy rooms and excellent facilities as well as the vast garden space and barbecue. The beach is a stones throw away allowing all to access it at day or night. We even managed an early morning swim!
The Steam train to Corfe Castle is a must activity and loved by all. Our short break was old fashioned memory making. We cannot thank Vicki enough for our stay. We truly cannot wait to return again very soon!
Large party of adults (9) stayed at this Stunning house I can honestly say you will not regret staying here it marvellous.
The owner Vicki was very helpful prior to our stay.
We arrived at the house and from the moment you stepped inside you could not help but be impressed. Everyone was excited to explore. The house was gorgeous, spacious and we had the usual fight over the rooms, every room was such a good size. The main bedroom had a massive ensuite - this included a bath and separate shower enclosure with power shower, although there was another bath with a mixer tap and shower attachment in the main bathroom .
The kitchen was a lovely gathering place for meal times whilst cooking/eating meals - was slightly nervous of cooking at first, but absolutely loved the aga! Also amazing for when you want to warm up after your days activities.
The choice of two livings rooms meant we were spoilt for where to relax in the evenings some liked sport and others didn't.
The house is a short walk from the beach, and about Ten minutes from the main town/high street. The main supermarket is a Co-op which was short drive away in the town centre, or there was a corner shop within walking distance. There are loads of activities to enjoy and the local area is beautiful, Some great walks, bike routes, fishing trips, pitch and put the list goes on.
Our group absolutely loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend this property A holiday or even a long weekend, you won't be disappointed.
Now it's just a matter of time before we will return to enjoy once again.
Wonderful stay in a great location
The house was very spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a super location with no parking restrictions. The garden was a bonus for our family reunion. Easy walk to the seafront and town. Vicki provided excellent comprehensive information about the property and Swanage area. Very efficient communication by email. I would highly recommend this property for a family holiday.
Gorgeous house in a great location
We loved our stay, you won't regret staying in this house.
The owner Vicki was very helpful prior to our stay and after too; we arrived at the house and had to explore as soon as we put our bags down. The house was gorgeous, spacious and we had to fight for our rooms, all were a very good size. The main bedroom surprised us with a massive ensuite - this was where the main shower was, although there was in in bath shower elsewhere.
The kitchen was a lovely communal area for cooking and meals - loved the aga! Also amazing for when back after a swim or walk to warm up.

The house is a short walk from the beach, which was ideal for us. The main supermarket was a short drive away, or there was a corner shop within walking distance. There are loads of activities to enjoy and the local area is beautiful, great to explore.
We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend for families or friends for a long weekend, I bet a whole week would be even better.
We are now wondering when we can go back next!
Fantastic holiday house & great location
We are a family with four kids aged 7 - 3 and spent a wonderful week in Swanage.
The house is everything you could ask for and more - lots of space and light, great layout and exceptionally clean; comfortable beds, great kitchen with AGA and well stocked with beach spades, nets, etc and board games, kids toys & dvds for rainy days. Fantastic garden too for sitting out and eating as well as playing and mucking about in. A lot of thought and consideration has gone into the house and it shows. Superb and straight forward communication with owner made it very easy to make arrangements too.
Location is unrivalled - perfect to walk to beach and everything you could need in Swanage. Hours spent digging in sand, jumping waves, crabbing. We had a great time getting the steam train from Swanage to Corfe and visiting the castle - a kids dream day out. A very short 5 minute drive to the stunning beaches of at Studland Bay too. And lots and lots to do - more than a weeks worth.....
A truly restorative week enjoyed by all - we very much hope to return. Thank you
The beach is within a few minutes walk. There are three access points, one by the Bull and Boat café/restaurant, one by the Grand Hotel and one through the Ballard Estate footpath. Each offers a different beach experience. Ocean Bay has a stream to dig and dam, coffees/icecreams/food on tap, loos, hire of pedaloes etc. The Grand part of the beach is a bit quieter though with facilities still right there including The Cabin, a very nice cafe. The Ballard Estate access is only a few minutes further and quiet even in high season. There are no facilities in this part of the beach and you can enjoy being away from it all still on a fantastic sandy beach with very little company.
The town, with its shops, restaurants etc is 10 mins walk along the beach promenade. (Less than 1 mile). Ballard Stores, the corner shop, the Crows Nest Inn (family friendly) and Bull and Boat restaurant/café (views over the beach) and The Cabin (very nice cafe on the beach) are all within two minutes. Except for bringing home a heavy supermarket shop, you will not need the car once you are here. There are so many things to do and once you have booked we can give you our fully family tested guide of things we enjoy! A few are: Open top bus to Studland or Shell Bay (stops at the end of our road), eating chocolate fondues in Chococo, flying kites on Ballard Down, going on a night time glow worm walk at Durlston Country Park, crabbing on the stone quay, eating at the outdoor fish café, playing on the antique penny slot machines on the pier, taking the steam train to Corfe Castle and picnicking on the common, looking out for our favourite wild ponies, sleeping in a tent in the garden (available at the house), watching the fireworks from the beach in August. You really can live an Enid Blyton holiday here!

Additional information about rental rates
The calculator bases its calculations on a nightly rate. This means for us it is inaccurate as longer stays are cheaper per night than the minimum stay. The calculator cannot cope with this. Therefore stays may appear more or less expensive so please use the contact the owner button, or better still, contact me through our own website mentioned in "About the Property" and I can give you a correct price. We are sorry not to be able to accommodate pets.
