Fully furnished 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment on a quiet street near the Blue Line
About Alex Webb
My partner and I moved to Chicago about twelve years ago and purchased our Logan Square home in late 2013. I'm a big believer in taking advantage of all this magnificent city has to offer, and as such have visited over 1400 local bars/restaurants and have been to darn near every major museum and attraction and theater. I like to think that I'm as qualified as any concierge and my expertise comes free with the rental!
Alex Webb purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Alex Webb chose Logan Square
We spent over a year looking for our dream home, and there were two main criteria: (1) It had to be a classic Chicago greystone, and (2) be in an amazing location, since that's one of the few things I can't fix about a building. I'm pleased to report that we succeeded on both counts!
What makes this Apartment unique
We love having a home with history and have done a great deal of research into the people who've owned and resided here over the years. Throughout the apartment you'll find artifacts that relate to the building's heritage and prior occupants (a vase designed by a prominent Norwegian sculptor, sheet music by a songwriter who sold his music door-to-door, etc.). Not interesting to everyone, of course, but makes for some fun conversation pieces.

Great place in Logan Square
Clean, comfortable and conveniently located in Logan Square. The friendly owner must have a degree in hotel management as he hits on all cylinders here. 'Pride of ownership' and 'Attention to detail' are not catch phrases with this property, it is the reality. We have rented in this area before and this is the cream of the crop.
Lovely, great location, well taken care of property!!!
AMAZING stay at Logan Square
This beautiful Greystone is absolutely wonderful. Alex is so thoughtful of his guests. He provided plenty of towels, bathroom amenities, board games, coffee, tea, and even beers native to the area.
We had an amazing trip and can't wait to come back again next year. The property is just a short walk away from the Blue Line. The entire neighborhood is beautiful, safe, and is just a super cool place to hang out.
Thank you Alex for an amazing time and all of the great information!!
Fantastic house and host
If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Chicago, then look no further. This beautiful house is easily accessible on the blue line from O’Hare airport and the same line will take you into the centre of Chicago in about 20 minutes. The house itself is only a few minutes walk from Logan Square station.
This beautiful period property is decorated with love and care, is spotlessly clean with great facilities and everything you would need for a city break.
Alex, the host, was friendly and helpful and the information he has put together in the house (local restaurants, sight seeing information etc) was invaluable. Alex met us on arrival, gave us a tour of the house and told us all about the history which was very interesting. He was available when needed, but was happy to leave you to your own devices if you preferred. Little touches like umbrellas and adaptors were much appreciated.
Logan Square itself is a great location with some lovely restaurants for breakfast, dinner or lunch. Greystone is situated on a very pretty road and is peaceful and quiet, despite being so close to the city action.
All in all, I could not recommend Greystone more highly. We had a fantastic weekend in the house and will return when we next visit Chicago.
Just about perfect
We have done quite a bit of "vacation rental" over the years, and the Logan Square Greystone is the new number one!
Wonderful location in an up and coming neighborhood, safe but not yet homogenized, with plenty of good/excellent places to eat within easy (very easy) walking distance. And, the Blue Line train is a block away, so you can be downtown in 20-25 minutes.
This assumes that you can motivate yourself to leave the property, which is so comfortable, so nicely appointed and so beautiful that you may never want to leave it. Very clean, very nicely decorated, with an excellent library, great windows looking out onto a picture-book block of turn of the century row houses, charming interior design, large and well-equipped kitchen, and a beautifully updated bathroom (with PLENTY of towels - a rarity in vacation rentals). We especially enjoyed morning coffee on the private terrace off of the kitchen.
The host, Alex, was friendly and absolutely on top of everything. He has put together a detailed binder that covers just about anything you might want to know about the house, the area, and the city. He has more maps, guide books, and instructions than a travel agent, can give you good advice about things to do, where to eat. etc. A perfect host...available and helpful whenever needed, unobtrusive when not.
I rarely (very rarely) leave such a gushing review, but Alex and his greystone deserve it.
If you are in Chicago, you must stay here.
Alex (the property manager) has everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable, and if he doesn’t he will find it for you. The property is unbelievably well kept and furnished nicely. Kitchen and bathroom have everything you need for your trip. You couldn’t use all of the towels if you tried! 😄
Alex meets you and provides you with the keys and parking passes for your car. He offers a tour of the property and provides suggestions for sightseeing and navigating the L and Chicago.
Chicago was wonderful, but this greystone in Logan Square may have been the highlight. Of the trip. When we return, it will be to stay here!
We're situated on the same block as the world-famous Longman & Eagle--but on the quiet, residential side--which also puts us half a block from Logan Square itself. The Centennial Monument, the legendary Lula Cafe, The Logan Theatre, Lost Lake, the Logan Square Comfort Station, Billy Sunday, Fat Rice, the Logan Square Farmer's Market, Revolution Brewing, the Chicago Diner (vegan), and countless other bars and restaurants are all within a half mile from our front door. Of course there are also coffee shops, book stores, record shops, arcades, and even a local food co-op, but if you're looking for something special just ask and we'll steer you in the right direction!
(Tip: The phrase "Logan Square" refers to both the square and to the enormous neighborhood surrounding it, which can be confusing. There are parts of Logan Square the Neighborhood that generally aren't as convenient for tourists, so don't assume that all rentals "in Logan Square" are comparable.)
