We are a couple in our 40s who are working hard to one day retire to our house in Rhodes, making it our half time home.
In the meantime we're sharing it with people like you and we hope will fall in love with Rhodes the same way we have.
Pete purchased this villa in 2007
We fell in love with Greece after visiting Halikidiki in 1997 and have been visiting the Islands ever since. Of all the Greek Islands we visited it was Rhodes we were most enchanted with, in particular the picturesque village of Lindos. It will be a familiar story to those who have been there. You may not believe in the tales of healing or mental health effects that are said to benefit the island due to mystical properties, but you cannot deny it definitely has a certain mystique.
As soon as I step off the plane onto the island the stress and daily humdrum of daily British life simply fades away.
The property is in a peaceful location with easy access to the main road. It's a great place to unwind and relax, taking life at completely different pace to back home.
We spent a long time looking for a special location to purchase and believe we've succeeded, we hope you agree.
That is us back home after 2 great weeks in Lindos. We enjoyed our holiday and where we were staying. We would have no hesitation recommending the villa and location.
If we visit Rhodes again staying at Blue Line Villas would be our preferred choice.
The villa is located on a small development half way between Lindos town and Pefkos in a rocky landscape with sea views to the front. The villa itself is well equipped and provided everything four adults could wish for during a 12-night stay. The pool area is stunning, but there is little shade apart from to the rear of the property so take care when hot (as it was with us).
It is possible to walk into Lindos (around 25 minutes), but to enjoy this villa properly, we would recommend hiring a car. Once you tally up airport transfers and taxis to and from Lindos or Pefkos, it makes better financial sense.
We had great meals on the roof terraces at Odyssia and Kalypso in Lindos (booking essential at busy times), and the Wi-Fi and cocktails are both good at Zig-Zag in Pefkos. Beaches are lovely at Glystra and Lindos and if you have a car do venture into the mountains as the scenery is stunning. Rhodes old town is equally atmospheric.
Paul and Sue (who look after the villa and the pool) were lovely and a great source of information, and communication with Pete was speedy and helpful and very friendly.
If you are looking for a quiet stay, relatively close to the beautiful village of Lindos, this would be the perfect choice.
Just returned home from an absolutely fantastic holiday to Lindos. The villa was perfect and in a great location with wonderful sea views. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day! Thank you to the owners for such a lovely holiday.
We had a fantastic holiday at this beautiful villa. Amazing pool area where we spent most of our time as it was so hot. Lovely and peaceful location with a great view over Navarone Bay. The villa had everything we needed and more - we will definitely be back.
The clean spacious villa was a very peaceful place to stay. Everything you could wish for when self catering. The pool was great. We did not hire a car and so walked into lindos every evening. The walk takes about 25 mins but was not a problem for us. We got a taxi back late at night. There are plenty from the square. The cost was €7/8 It is up a slight hill but there are buses that run from the main road just outside the villa complex There are plenty of restaurants with roof top eating. The views are wonderful. We took the local bus to places like Rhodes Town. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
About the house:
Everything written by the owner is truth.
This house is clean, well kept, all facilities are there.
Had a great time, and can recommend it to everyone.
Pool cleaning/check, three times a week.
Correspondence with the owner, went very easy and well.
5 stars should by 6 :-)
Note: It's a house in a quiet area, but nearby lots of touristics views.
Highly recommended to use a car for transportation, because of the temperatures, walking is not so nice.
Nice beaches, restaurants nearby. We visited all main attractions in a week.
Butterflyvalley, Rhodes old town, 7 springs (dislike, think they were fake!) , Lindos from bottem to top, Prasonisi, Para-sailing at Lardos etc...
All together: PERFECT!
Excellently situated in a compound of private villas, walking distance from Lindos and a nearby beach, this place was wonderful. Very clean, well positioned inside the compound, offering privacy and comfort. Great collection of movies and PS games, waiting for us on our arrival was cold water & cold beer which provided a nice touch. Had a wonderful staying !
St Pauls bay at Lindos is a magical and popular place for couples to get married. The villa is a perfect romantic setting to prepare for your special day and honeymoon.
The beach is approx 10 mins walk down to the sea with beautiful clear seas. Both nearby Lindos and Pefkos have lovely family friendly beaches and clear waters. There are many other bays and beautiful sandy beaches with facilities around the island.
Finding your way around Rhodes is very easy as there are only a small number of main roads which pass by most areas of interest. I highly recommend hiring your own car to be able to fully appreciate the island and see the places of interest.
The airport is approx 40 mins away and costs around 70 euros by taxi. Taxis are plentiful and cheap. If you are averagely mobile on your feet it is a nice walk to walk into Lindos for dinner and then a simple taxi ride back (€5 ish).
Bus stops are close.
The World Heritage Site and picturesque village of Lindos, steeped in history with its famous Acropolis and its many shops, tavernas, roof top restaurants and bars is just 1600m (25 mins on foot) to the left.
The busy tourist resort of Pefkos is approx 2000m up the coastal road to the right. The capital of Rhodes town is around 45 mins away and is a highly recommended visit for the Old Town alone.
With over 300 days of sunshine a year, it is officially the sunniest place in Europe.
Acropolis - The original site of the 4th BC temple dedicated to the goddess Athena. The Acropolis is one of the most historic sites in Greece. You can reach it by foot or by a Lindos taxi (yes by donkey). It is open from 8.30am to 14.40pm daily except Mondays. Opening times are extended in the high season. It takes about 15 minutes to walk up the hill to the Acropolis.
Both Pefkos and Lindos offer something for everyone with numerous bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes. Many of the restaurants in Lindos have roof top tables which offer an unforgettable views and romantic settings. Greek cuisine is amongst the best in the world in my opinion - always fresh and tasty. We'll leave a list of our favourites in a local guide book at the Villa. Lindos to the left is easily walkable, taking just 25 mins at a normal pace. Pefkos isn't so easy to walk to due to the hill, but is the same distance as Lindos.
Nearby Lardos is also an excellent town to visit with many tavernas and the chance to experience a traditional Greek event. Another popular choice is to spend an evening the freshest fish and cool drinks along the seafront promenade of Haraki, a short drive or taxi ride away from the villa.
Visit the Folk Lore Museum in Lardos to get a unique understanding of how the island used to be with many local artefacts and interesting displays.
Banking machines are littered throughout all the local villages.
Shopping - there is a small shops in the Lindos Memories towards the beach. Pefkos has some larger supermarkets and Lindos is littered with many gift shops. Lardos has an excellent butcher, fruit and veg and fishmongers in a row.
|Fees||No additional mandatory fees|
|Refundable damage deposit||$185|
Bookings are taken all year round and are for the villa per week, not per person.
Wednesday or Saturday preferred. Arrivals after 4pm and departure before 10am for cleaning scheduling. We'll be flexible where we can, but it depends on arrival/departure of other guests.
