This is our lovingly renovated 17th century house. It is full of French character and, history with original features such as the large high ceilinged rooms, wide sweeping oak staircase, exposed beams and original fireplaces, yet has all the modern comforts you would expect in a well-equipped home. Over three floors, the main house consists of a large hall, kitchen / eating area, sitting / dining room, 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The garden is laid mainly to lawn and is arranged in three sections. The top is a comfortable place to relax in the sun or enjoy a BBQ; the second is an enclosed pool area, where you can spend lazy summer days in the sun or under the shade of the teuil trees. The bottom area is where the swings and trampoline are located as well as off road parking for the property. Plenty of space for all......
The propertys' fantastic central location in the middle of the beautiful town on Rochechouart will give you the opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful and undiscovered parts of central France.
This property is located close to several fabulous swimming lakes with lovely sandy beaches, cafes and playgrounds. Guerlie Plage (located 10 minutes drive from the property) has a great selection of watersports and sailing, as well as a super equestrian centre. For walking or cycling enthusiasts there are plenty of tracks to enjoy the beautiful and unspoilt countryside and for those who are interested in a spot of fishing - plenty of lakes and rivers close by boasting a variety of fish, inclding carp and trout (local licence required but easily & cheaply obtained from the local tabac or online)
Further a field - why not enjoy an informative and slightly boozy tour of one of the neighbouring regions well renowned and fascinating cognac houses - including Remy Martin, Hennessy and Martell.
You will be able to take a gentle stroll through the cobbled streets to buy your fresh produce from the local shops, or stop for a quiet drink at one of the shady cafes under the lime trees. The local Chateau of Rochechouart is just a few minutes' walk away, as is the beautiful church with is spiral steeple.
Garry is an auto-entrepreneur and Annabelle is a fully trained primary school teacher, and has had experience of teaching both in the UK and in Spain.
Their daughter, Georgia is 17 years old and is currently studying at Lycee Gues de Balzac, Angouleme.
The family have two dogs a cat, and 4 chickens, that are all very friendly and love to receive a little attention.
Although we don't live on site, we are not far away to assist with making your holiday a fabulous experience in any way we can.
The whole family enjoy spending time at the local lakes during the summer, walking their two adorable and very friendly dogs and bike riding.

We love the beautiful historic town of Rochechouart because it is perfectly situated on the Charente/Limousin/ Dordogne border, very close to all local amenities. There are some beautiful local lakes with superb beaches, bike and horse riding all within easy reach of this property. For the more active guests the property is a short drive away from two excellent golf courses. There are super bars and restaurants a short stroll away, as well as an impressive chateau to explore. There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible with Limoges airport less than a 30 minutes drive away.
There are plenty of local markets to explore selling good quality local produce, many summer festivals and a little further afield, cognac tours in the neighbouring Charente.
The property boosts a wealth of original features including exposed beams and a magnificent oak staircase, and is decorated with a mix of period and antique furniture.
Access to the exclusive and private garden and pool is via a double sweeping stone staircase, leading off a 24 metre long sun terrace. The perfect place to enjoy a sun-downer or two!
The garden is large enough for all sorts of fun and games, offers a trampoline, swings, in addition to sun loungers for those just wanting to laze by the pool.
If you are booking the house and the apartment, then they each have their own seperate access, but can be opened up on the bedroom floor, to make the house and apartment as one, ideal for large parties, wanting to stay together, and can be seperated, to be self contained if not.
We offer a welcome package to all our guests: Ingredients supplied for an evening meal on your arrival and Continental breakfast for your first morning; Beach/pool towels for use during your stay. Babysitting / Childminding available upon request for an hourly charge; Shopping service – to be paid for in euros on arrival, for a 15 euro charge.
There is private parking at the very bottom of the garden but the on street parking at the front of the house is closer and their is plenty of it all year round,

Rob Angela, Ben & Nancy – Corsham, Wiltshire.
I shall start writing here. There’s insufficient room in the comments column to say all the wonderful things about the place.
I have never stayed in a place as truly magnificent as this one. I loved the house – a real gem! I loved Rochechouart and want to come back.
My days started early and make sure you get up & watch the sun rise from the veranda. An early start provided a good excuse to chill in the garden and listen to the children play happily.

Lovely house and fabulous town. The locals are so friendly, and many made such a fuss of the babies.
Garry & Annabelle were perfect hosts, on hand if you have any questions, but leave you to relax and enjoy the place.
