About John Sullivan
We have fallen in love with France over the years. We love the food, the wine, the people and the climate. We bought the cottage in 2007 and love the peace and tranquility that it offers us as we both have busy jobs in the UK, and love to switch off French style. Long lunches and evenings in the sun or lazy afternoons in front of the log fire in the winter. We have taken many means of transport to the cottage but our prefered option is on the motorbike!
John Sullivan purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why John Sullivan chose Touffailles
We originally bought the cottage as an escape from it all getaway!! Our search began in the Dordogne but after many visits to France chose the idyllic, rural Tarn et Garonne. We found Access to the area served by both Bergerac and Toulouse ideal for cheap flights throughout the year. We also regularly drive down but really love to Ride down taking in France on the way. The local town markets, the night markets and the very slow pace of life here makes it a wonderful refuge.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love the secluded aspect that the cottage has to offer. Yet is only a few minutes drive to the local villages. The properties nearest neighbour is the local farmer 1/2k down the lane, who would possibly be the only person you might see occasionally in the fields surrounding the house.

Beautiful Relaxing Holiday
We had such an amazing holiday. Everything about the place is absolutely lovely and we cannot fault anything at all. Our only regret was that we didn’t book for 2 weeks.
This is our third year coming to France in that same area and Pech Tintou was by far the best! We already decided 1 day in that we want to come back next year, but for 2 weeks, so we will be booking again!!
A fab location for pure peace & quiet!
We have recently spent another wonderful 2 weeks at this property, 3rd time back and can safely say we shall be returning once again next year.
The Pech Tintou is really beautiful, secluded and the perfect place for a relaxing and private getaway, great pool and pool area and a lovely comfortable cottage.
We noticed since our last visit John and Rhian have updated the kitchen and bathroom, the house is always spotless upon our arrival and a welcome pack waiting for us in the kitchen with some treats.
As always all communication with John and Rhian is easy and they both couldn't do more to make us feel welcome.
Looking forward to next year already.....
Fifth time here. Still as peaceful as ever. Two weeks of reading by the pool. Needs a new fridge.
Fantastic, quiet hideaway home
We have stayed at holiday villas all over France during the past 40 years, but this has to be one of the very best. It feels homely rather than just a holiday let. The property was exactly as described and the couple of questions we asked of John by e mail were responded very promptly.
The whole property was spotlessly clean with an excellent range of kitchen equipment. Even nicer was that the house had a supply of kitchen basics, salt, pepper, cooking oil, herbs and spices etc, which meant you didn't have to buy these just for a week.
The welcome pack had dishwasher tablets, new chopping board along with kitchen roll, jams and a bottle of water and one of wine.
The beds were extremely comfortable and so too were the settee in the lounge.
A fantastic pool with loungers chairs tables and a hammock provided plenty of outdoor choices.
A brilliant property that we will certainly use again.
Thanks John and Rhian.
A wonderful place to stay.
My partner and I have just spent a wonderful 2 weeks at Pech Tintou. John was extremely helpful in every way and provided a lovely welcome pack on arrival. The house was the perfect base to explore this magical part of France and there was plenty of information in the house to help us choose where to go. The sunflower fields and pretty Bastide villages were a delight. We especially loved all the markets, especially the night markets with food and wine a plenty and great local company. We loved watching the deer, hares and the buzzards in the field behind the house and we managed to get a great photo of one of the cute little Loirs that partied on the roof at night! Cycling along the Canal from Moissac and picnicing in the banks of the Lot were also highlights, but the best part of every day was returning to this idyllic place with the fantastic pool to cool down in. Thank you so much for an amazing holiday - we really hope to return again. Jenny and David.
Thank you for the lovely review. It's great you loved the house and it's location as much as we do, and that you had a lovely holiday. Also Pleased that the wildlife came out to play for you. All the best.
Idyllic country cottage
This was our second stay in this beautiful cottage and we found it just as charming as last year. The property listing is extremely accurate in terms of its description of the layout and facilities available. On arrival the property was spotlessly clean and we really liked the little 'welcome pack' which was left for us, which included a bottle of wine, new chopping board and kitchen utensils and a few other handy essentials. We loved the absolute peace and quiet at the cottage, which was only spoiled by the squeals of delight from our two girls enjoying the fabulous pool! The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the region with so many pretty towns, villages and historic sites to explore - all within an hours drive. We particularly enjoyed visiting the little town of Montcuq, Castle Bonaguil and cycling the Lot Valley veloroute. John provided excellent customer service, responding promptly to emails, dealing efficiently with payments and returning breakages deposits. He also welcomed any feedback we had to give. No surprise then that we will be returning to this lovely cottage next summer.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are both thrilled you all had another lovely holiday at the house, and we will look forward to welcoming you all back again next year.
