Enjoying a glorious location and fabulous uninterrupted views over the Peak Park landscape this impressive detached barn conversion provides excellent accommodation for discerning groups. Its ancient beams have been carefully preserved and fitted with contemporary decor and furnishings. Valley View Barn is on a quiet country lane midway between the villages of Parwich, Tissington, Brassington and Carsington (all with village inns). There is also a possibility for you to HIRE YOUR OWN HOT TUB as there is a large terrace with an outside electric and water point. Bradbourne is ideally located for exploring numerous local footpaths and links to the nearby Tissington and High Peak Trails for traffic free cycling. Pony trekking is available 1/2 mile away in Bradbourne, and a Golf Course in Ashbourne. There is an outstanding sailing centre at Carsington Lake (2 miles) which offers RYA tuition (the famous Ellen McCarthur learnt to sail as a young girl) as well as fishing, a cycle path, and the hire of kayaks, windsurfers and dinghies.

Beautiful Dovedale is just 5 miles away and Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall Sudbury Hall (N.T.) Matlock Bath with Heights of Abraham cable cars, Gullivers Kingdom, Crich Tramway Museum and the pretty town of Bakewell (of delicious pudding fame) are all within 15 miles. A drive of 20 miles takes you to the Georgian spa town of Buxton where visitors will find show caves, ‘Go Ape’ and many arts and antique fairs. The charming town of Ashbourne boasts interesting shops, cafes and antiques, and a twice weekly market (5 miles from The Barn). A pub, cafe and small shop are just 1.5 miles located in the village of Tissington.

With walks and a cycle path on its doorstep its setting is unique and offers you a complete 'away from it all' break in the English countryside. The ideal location to visit the area, the useful B5056 from the holiday cottage will take you into pretty Bakewell Town or adjoining roads to Carsington, Matlock, Dovedales, Parwich, Alstonefield, Hartington in 15 minutes.

Valley View Barn is a detached property and offers a cycle route on its doorstep and links with the Tissington Trail. This makes Valley View Barn a great venue for cyclists and there is a large shed which can accommodate up to 14 bikes securely. The barn offers you a place to relax and enjoy walks without taking the car with the famous Tissington Village only 1 1/2 miles away. Tissington Village holds the enchanting 16th Century Hall and village pond to explore and a café, butchers, gift and vintage sweet shop as well as outstanding Peak walks and cycle trails. On the other side of the barn only a mile a way, is Carsington Waters offering bird watching, water sports and activities, relaxing longs walks around the Reservoir and large and spacious children's playground.                                                       From the initial stages of enquiry to the weekend itself property owner Sandy was nothing but helpful and offered excellent customer service throughout making the whole experience enjoyable and memorable. Even though the property looked amazing from the photos, it exceeded expectations! Such a brilliant location with stunning views, very well-maintained, clean, modern, spacious, full of all the amenities, well equipped, the list goes on. (it felt like a home away from home!)

                                                      I had booked the weekend as a surprise for my husbands 30th Birthday and there were 13 of us friends in total plus 8 month baby and wow were they impressed (including the little one he loved his cot & high chair that was very kindly included by Sandy) We are definitely keen to get a date in the diary for our next weekend, I think we would like to make it an annual trip! Although we didn't venture out much Sandy very kindly left leaflets and information of things to do in the area which we will definitely take advantage of next time along with the BBQ and use of 14 bikes!

Just to note, that we have storage for 14 bikes but you need to hire these from the nearby cycle centre. The cycle path is on your doorstep and it joins with the Tissington Trail where you can enjoy miles of vehicle-free cycle paths across the Peak National Park.

                                                      The barn accommodated 11 of us with ease. The barn is lovely and warm in cold weather (we had snow). All the cooking facilities you need for a large number. Nearest pub is only 2 miles away if you don't want to cook. The bedrooms are small and the en-suites quite snug, but they do the job. A chest of drawers in each room would be beneficial. The location is brilliant. Views across the valley. The Tissington trail and the High Peak trail nearby for cyclists. Lots of walks for the hikers. Ashbourne has the shops and supermarkets and is only a few miles away.

                                                      The property was very clean on arrival and we were greeted with this beautiful view of the valley. (The welcome message and bottle of wine was a lovely gesture too).

                                                      Sandy helped us arrange a jacuzzi for our stay which was up and running on our arrival!

                                                      The house has everything you need and fully equipped.

                                                      Perfect for a weekend getaway to catch up with friends and experience the peak district.

                                                      I’ve celebrated my round numbered birthday with my family and very close friends and the place was perfect for it.

                                                      Lovely nature, great walks and even very friendly pubs nearby.

                                                      The only massive downside are Walls.

                                                      Walls are a bit on a thinner side so if you like your laying in mornings or the other side of your party gets up early- bring some ear plugs as you will get disturbed from kitchen and lounge area.

                                                      Rooms are lovely and cosy but if you are a taller person you will find bed to be slightly on a shorter side. I’m not really super tall / 176cm and I had to pay attention of how I am positioning myself:) so my feet don’t hover.

                                                      Kitchen is extremely well equipped, thoroughly enjoyable area of the barn.

                                                      Be aware that there are some pans that will not work on the cooker, you will need to swap for the ones that does but it’s s time saver to know this fact;) ( I don’t remember now if it was cast iron or aluminium that did not work).

                                                      Owners of the barn are very discreet and helpful.

                                                      Thank you for your other comments and the kitchen does have new kitchenware and several pans, wok, frying pans, are suitable for induction heating for the new luxurious range. Five of the seven bedrooms are completely individual and separated from each other and offer beautiful beamed ceilings and give privacy and space as illustrated in all other reviews.

                                                      I hope you enjoyed the individual welcome pack consisting of wine, biscuits, flowers, tea coffee and sugar and the arrangements we made for your rest of the stay was perfect.

                                                      we all love Derbyshire the barn was great just right size for our family it was nice not to be overlooked and safe outside for children to play. It was my husbands birthday and he is not well so a lovely place for our family to be together. plenty of space and well equipped and nice places to get to easily. the weekend went very quickly but all enjoyed our selves very much thankyou

                                                      The property is located off the B5056 on the Ashbourne to Bakewell Road. Bradbourne is located 3 miles down this windy lane on the B5056. There will be a signpost to Bradbourne to turn right up the hill to the village of Bradbourne. After approximately 100 yards halfway up the hillside (before Bradbourne Village) there is a sign for Valley View Barn with a gravelled entrance. Turn right through the wooden five bar gate into the driveway and slowly drive up and around a tight bend to pass the house into the large car parking and turning area. Several cars can park at the back of the holiday barn.
