An superb property.
I chose the cottage as the base for a family get together.
The property is beautiful, inside and out.
All creature comforts are supplied.
The location is also great, Leeds for retail, The Sovereign pub for food and drinks, even a Coop within walking distance.
Best of all are the landscapes and the walks.
Great welcome pack as well.
We will definitely return.
Lovely period cottage.
Spacious & clean this cottage had more than enough space for the four of us. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

We Spent a long weekend at the Gables cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely and there was plenty of room. The kitchen was well equipped and it is very useful having two fridges. The owners were very accommodating, and supportive towards our needs. We were lucky to have sunshine and were able to take advantage of sitting outside. We had a meal at the sovereign which is in walking distance. We received excellent service and food and wouldn’t hesitate in returning. It is a beautiful area with plenty to see and do, for all age groups. We will book the cottage again on our next visit to the area.
Thank you so very much for your kind words. We are both delighted that you enjoyed The Gables and our lovely part of Yorkshire and that the the sun shone for you too!
We very much look forward to your return visit one day...
With kind regards and best wishes.

Our delightful village of Shepley has 3 public houses, 2 serving delicious food. There is a very well stocked supermarket/garage less than 5 mins. walk away for your daily needs, including newspapers and fuel for the multifuel burner (open 24/7 365 days a year!). The village also has a Post Office, places of worship, library, hairdresser/beauty salon, Rail Station (Huddersfield to Sheffield), doctors and dentist surgery. There are regular buses to take you into Holmfirth, Wakefield and Huddersfield. Bus stops are conveniently located approx. 200 metres from the cottage.
There are lots of lovely walks in and around Shepley. Mountain biking is also very popular in the area,
The ever popular Pennine town of Holmfirth, home of Last of the Summer Wine, is approx. 3 miles away and has a further array of excellent wine bars, real ale pubs, bistros, cafes and boutique shops. The superbly restored picturedrome is well worth a visit. In addition to films, you will see some first class artists, tribute bands and stand up comedians.
Shepley's annual 3 day Spring Festival takes place around mid May , You will enjoy numerous music concerts, dance displays, showground activities, and much more. You can even have a go at busking, if you bring along your instruments!
There are various festivals which also take place in Holmfirth, notably the Folk Festival in May, Art Festival in July and Food Festival in September.
Haworth, Hebden Bridge and Ilkley are all delightful places to visit and easily reached from your Shepley base. However, is you feel the need for some serious retail therapy, the bustling cities of Leeds, Manchester, Harrogate, York and Sheffield are all within very easy reach! The beautiful Peak District National Park is, of course, an absolute must!
