Antibes House Rental Photos and Description

House in Antibes Old Town, Cote D'Azur, France - Tranquil And Hidden Gem, Minutes Away From The Bustling Market And 5 Minutes Walk To The Beach

Hidden at the end of a quiet impasse - walking into this house is like finding a hidden hideaway moments away from the bustling heart of Antibes. In the oldest part of the old town the property has been renovated with great sympathy to its provencal heritage. With plenty of space to relax both inside the house and in the garden which the kitchen opens out onto this is a perfect space to getaway to. The cool white rooms with fresh linens on all the beds and beautiful details picking out the most elegant of Provencal style are welcoming and provide everything you need. Should you tire of eating and drinking in the many fine bars and restaurants of Antibes then cooking and eating in the garden is a sweet pleasure. The house itself is a cool haven from the mediterranean sun, no need for air conditioning - the ancient walls are over 2 foot thick and ensure that the rooms are kept cool throughout the summer.

Suitability:
  • children welcome

Guestbook comments from the owner

From Trip Advisor July 2014:

This was our fourth visit to Old Antibes and this was by far our favourite place that we had rented.

My husband and I were travelling with our 3 children (8,5,2) and my parents. The location of the apartment allowed for easy access to the market, shopping and restaurants, and was a short walk to the beach. It was a quiet location and not accessible by cars, so it was safe for the children.

The garden terrace allowed us to enjoy all our meals outside with easy access to the kitchen. It was so relaxing in the garden terrace, and perfect to be outside on the main floor. Most of the apartments in Antibes that have an outdoor space usually have a balcony. The space is completely enclosed so there was no worries of my sneaky toddler escaping! It was great to be able to sit on the lounge chairs while the kids were playing safely outside. There was an extra WC on the main level too which was convenient.

The stairs leading to the multiple levels were a bit narrow and steep, but added to the charm of the apartment. No rushing on these stairs!

The bathroom on the second level had a small bathtub and a separate shower and toilet. The upper level loft bedroom had a bathroom with a shower and toilet.

The bedroom configuration worked out well for our group, and our youngest slept on a toddler bed in the upper sitting room. I would not recommend the upper level loft bedroom for children as the edge of the bed was close to the edge of the short wall.

With the multiple levels, there was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and relax after a day on the beach.

There was no air conditioning in the apartment, but with the fans in each room, we were very comfortable at night. Sarah assured us that with the thick walls, the house would remain cool, and she was right!

Overall this was a wonderful place to spend a week of our summer vacation in France.

I hope to return to Antibes again someday, and will hopefully have the opportunity to rent this apartment again.

Sarah was a wonderful host, and was very helpful during the planning process of our trip. It was a real pleasure dealing with such a nice person, as we have had "interesting" experiences with a different rental company during our past visits.

“Wonderful place in old antibes”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 12 August 2013 for a stay in June 2013

This home was perfect. The location in the heart of old antibes was perfect. We had plenty of space and the garden in the back was a special bonus. Sarah was very helpful and our week stay was completely glitch free. We loved antibes and will definitely be back (hopefully staying again in this lovely home).

Retreat in the old city

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place to stay in the heart of Old Antibes. We had a memorable time with our whole family. The town is brimming with atmosphere - contrasting quaint markets and luxury yachts. The comfortable house gave us great access to surrounding sights of Monaco and even a day's skiing in the mountains. It satisfies both beach people and mountain people. Obviously the holiday would have been even better if the sea was warmer (at Easter!) and I was able to ski competently. But that may be asking too much...

Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

Quirky and charming, with beautiful yet simple decor, this house if a gem. It couldn't be better placed in the heart of the old town with everything within strolling distance. The fabulous market is close enough to pop out and buy fresh ingredients for breakfast on the terrace. There are so many lovely restaurant within a five-minute walk and a plenty of cute boutiques. The sea with several beach options also just a stones throw away. I have been here three times and always had such a lovely time we always leave promising to return soon.

Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

This home is the perfect place to stay - if you want to just chill out and do nothing but read, and walk. If you are feeling energetic there are so many options of activities to suit all ages nearby. We particularly loved that fact that it was so easy to get to from the airport and we did not need to hire a car as the buses are excellent. The market is a delight. I have spent several holidays here and would not hesitate to recommend it. It is a place you can go to with friends , family and I would not hestitate to go on my own - it is a true sanctuary in la belle france

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We all had a lovely time in this residence which was well appointed and well looked after. It was very homely unlike some holiday homes which seem sparse or sanitised. Lovely place. The garden and roof garden were my favourite places to chill, providing a lovely view of Antibe.

An oasis in the midst of enchanting town

  • 5 of 5

Staying in the heart of the old town of antibes, with its narrow streets and hidden alleyways, made our holiday feel a bit like we had travelled back in time - rather than flying into Nice airport and catching a connecting bus!

The house is an oasis in the midst of Old antibes. Walking down a narrow alleyway you reach the entrance to a calm and relaxed private home. Being an ancient building, the accommodation is not for those looking for a new build villa. But if you like staying in charming places with a really sense of character (and you don't mind the steep stairs that come with that) then this place is for you.

We shared the villa with another family and we comfortably found space for everyone to sleep (the children sleeping in various configurations each night).

A lovely family rent the villa out (they have a place next door) and we were made to feel most welcome by everyone we met linked to the property.

The house is within a few minutes walk of numerous local shops, restaurants and a daily market. And the beach is only a ten minute walk away. I (a thirty-plus-some dad) particularly liked waterskiing from the beach!

Another highlight was visiting the Picasso gallery (he had a studio in the castle nearby). But probably the most relaxing hours of the holiday were spent over leisurely dinners in the garden at night - sipping a glass of rose (a wine I had previously shunned, but was converted to in Antibes). Magical.

In terms of Antibes - particularly Old Antibes - it is not the cheapest town you will ever visit - but certainly one of the most beautiful.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay and will definitely visit again.
