Absolutely lovely cottage in a stunning location. Loved our stay.

We booked the cottage for a reunion of friends. Very comfortably fit us all in. Lovely big bedrooms (bit of a tardis!). Set in beautiful countryside and some very friendly neighbours. We had a fab time. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We thought Station Cottage was lovely. Comfortable, clean and charming.

  • 5 of 5

We all enjoyed our family get-to- gether in Station Cottage. We didn't know the area so it was all new to us. Lovely walks in the village, rowing on the lake (for some) and horse riding (for some) plenty to do. Tissington was beautiful where we had a tasty lunch in Herbert's then a walk round Tissington Hall gardens. The time went too quickly so will have to come back sometime. Even the weather was good to us,plenty of sun and no rain which for mid April surprised us. We couldn't find the parking permit. Tried phoning Jo who had left numbers for us to call but each time got a message 'number not allowed'. We did park in bay 2 in the car park with a note on the dashboard that we were in Station Cottage and didn't have any trouble.

We took lots of photos to remind us what a happy time we all had. Thank you.

Our 'Station Cottage' break, 1st - 5th April 2017

  • 5 of 5

We found 'Station Cottage' met our needs perfectly. Very comfortable, well appointed and with plenty of character. Everything we needed was to hand, and we all had a wonderful time. My two 6'3" sons eventually got used to the low doors, without any serious damage to either themselves or the door-frame, and we were all very sad when the day came to go home. It made an ideal base for us, as we wanted to explore the southern part of Derbyshire, and there were many things we never got to do, so maybe next time...

Beautiful cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cosy cottage in a small village offering excellent value for money. The property was furnished to a very high standard. The 4 bedrooms were a good size with very comfy beds. Loved all the original features which have been kept. So much to do within walking distance from the cottage and even more in the surrounding area. We will definitely be returning.

  • 5 of 5

A well placed family size cottage, ideal for our annual winter weekend getaway. A warm and comfortable base in the center of an attractive Derbyshire village. Well appointed with plenty of 'mod cons' and 30 yds from the pub ! (good food there) ideal.walks from outside the door and 10 minutes from Ashbourne. highly recommended.

wonderful country cottage with modern facilities

  • 5 of 5

we've stayed twice and loved it both times. 6 adults and and 4 young children and we all fit perfectly. homely warm house with spacious rooms. Lots of cottage charm without the rickety elements. bathrooms are very clean and modern.Beds are comfy and you are guaranteed a peaceful nights sleep in Hognaston. The local pub The Red Lion serves delicious food and are very welcoming. This is a perfect retreat. Ashbourne,Bakewell and Wirksworth are all close by and worth a visit. Carsington water is great with the kids. Can't wait to stay again.
