We had the wonderful privilege of staying in this vacation rental property for three nights over the 2015 Labor Day weekend. When we arrived the house and garage were "move in" ready.
There were 12 adults in our 60s & 70s in our party. This house was quiet, peaceful and homey. We have been seasonal residents of the Lake Okoboji / Spirit Lake region for nearly 30 years and couldn't believe how peaceful and quiet this place was on one of the three major summer holiday weekends......unbelievable!!! An outstanding retreat from the hustle and bustle of the lakes region. The property owners are very cordial and their word is good. The price is fair when you consider everything that you get for the buck. A wonderful and easily accessible adult retreat.
We highly recommend staying here.
We had a wonderful time at your lake house. Plenty to do to keep busy and have fun. The lake was a great temperature so our 9 grandchildren had lots of fun swimming. We have lots of fishermen/women in our family and so the dock was almost always busy with someone fishing. The boat lift was great for our bass boat. The bikes were used to get to the ice cream shop and the free library. The deck was great for setting, visiting, watching the lake activity, roasting marsh mellows, feeding the kids, painting pictures of the lake, etc. We even got in on a concert by The Martins and Mark Lowry in Arnold's Park and a movie in the park sitting on the grass. Fun shopping in local stores. A great week for my husband and I, our three girls, two of their husbands and 9 children.
This was a family vacation that our family will remember for years to come. The lake setting was beautiful and perfect. We had family come & go but at one point we had 9 adults and 5 children at the house and we had plenty of space. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with. I would recommend this stay to anyone.
We had a very enjoyable time with our adult kids and four grandchildren six and below. The spacious dock was used for fishing and our six year old grandson caught three walleye. What a wonderful moment! We came from Minnesota, Michigan, Louisiana and Iowa and everyone enjoyed the wonderful accomodations - everything provided that is mentioned in their description. It rained one of the days but we just enjoyed a day inside with all the technology and games at our disposal. A day at a beach just down the road was also part of the fun with items used from their well stocked garage. Ella, one of the owners, answered all our questions very timely and saw to our every need. This was an awesome first time experience and we would highly recommend this lakehouse for your time away from home.
Very nice and accommodating owners...house had everything we could possibly need for our large group. Accurately described in the listing and well maintained. Kids had a great time on their jet skis...fishing was not the best as the weather was not that cooperative, but it didn't really matter. Easy trip into town for extras...great location. Certainly one of the better places we have rented for our annual family gathering.
Had a great stay here with some friends during an ice fishing trip this winter! Home is well kept and owners are very responsive! Location is great with lake access for ATVs a couple of blocks away and good location for fishing right in front of the house! Plenty of room to store equipment with the garage and still park vehicles in the driveway. Perfect for our group!
We strive to get all of our grown children and their families together at least a couple of times a year. With 8 adults and 6 grandchildren, we found the ideal central location and this beautiful lake house that more than met all of our needs. The home, with the large deck, the dock over Spirit Lake and bike trail across the street, allowed the family to spread out, enjoy fishing, kyacking, biking, roasting smores over the fire pit, and more. The house is beautifully decorated and supplied with WiFi, electronics, games, kitchen equipment all the way down to plenty of coffee, coffee filters and more. The owners were so gracious and helpful with their emails and phone conversations. It was the perfect spot for our family gathering.
