I have lived in this area of France for 16 years and still have not managed to explore all that it has to offer. I am part of the committee of a French club and spend a large part of my life socialising. I love the Brocantes here that are every sunday in a village somewhere in the region during the summer months and Bingo in the winter.
Lesley purchased this House in 2015
Why Lesley chose Pas-de-Calais
I chose this cottage as it is near my home and SNCF wanted to demolish it. I feel strongly about the History of any country being overcome by modern living. It was a 2 year battle involving me having to threaten to chain myself to the railway fencing which surrounds the property. But I won. I had to make some modifications which I was not happy about but compromise was necessary. Although it operates as a Gite,it was bought for my Mum and Dad to holiday in,hence the adaptations. My Mum,still comes 3 times a year and loves it.
What makes this House unique
Adapted for the less able. The beds are slightly higher than normal as is the toilet. There are grab rails where necessary and the shower has an integral fold down wall seat.
