We bought the villa as a shared venture with Will's Dad. We have 3 small children, now 6, 4 and 2 and loved Cyprus for its all round the year sun and family friendly atmosphere. We like to explore on holiday and are still discovering the delights Cyprus has to offer. Bill and his partner wanted somewhere in the sun to come and relax in, either alone or with friends, a few times a year. We've tried to make the property a home from home which accomodates families well (all the baby equipment is available!) and is suitable for romantic breaks, friends holidays and even golfing retreats!
nicola whitwell purchased this villa in 2009
We love the village - in the foothills of the Troodos Mountains a superb location for walking, but close enough to Limassol for when we want a bit more hustle and bustle. We chose the location as Cyprus does get very hot and humid in the summer months and being higher up the humidity levels are better when it gets very hot. The location offers peace and quiet, amazing panormaic views, a massive plot size yet you can easily drive into Limassol when you want a bit more going on. There's something here for everyone, families, couples, young and young at heart!
The large pool is great when more than one family is staying together at the villa. We like the outdoor BBQ area and extended patio areas which make outside living and dining so easy and comfortable. The villa is modern, finished to a high standard with all home comforts to make everyones time here enjoyable.
Our family stayed in this villa at Easter and had a great time.
The villa is in a very quiet, peaceful location, which made for a very relaxing holiday. However a short drive away there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. We really liked the village of Omodos, which is about 20-25 minutes away, perfect for a wander and a lazy lunch.
The villa is well maintained and has everything you need if you wish to cook for yourselves. It is very comfortable too - we were a group of 7 and there was plenty of space for all. The children loved the pool, perhaps a little cool for the grown-ups (it was the beginning of April) but the little ones were in it most days. The garden/landscaping is perfect, you can sit by the pool, look straight out, and see for miles.
There is wifi, but we struggled to get a good connection, but if you really do need to keep in touch via the internet then there are plenty of places nearby while you are out and about where you can check your emails etc……… or then again just relax and enjoy the peace of being away!
The owners were very easy to deal with and answered all our questions really quickly.
I think the best review we can give is that we would go back in a heartbeat and recommend it wholeheartedly.
Our second visit to this lovely villa, this time with our teenage sons who needed a 'rest' following exams!
Well rest, relaxation and sun is what we all got. Location is quiet and peaceful but near enough to all the amenities, just a short drive away.
We explored more of Limassol this time - the marina is now fully open and a buzzy place to visit. MyMall is worth a visit if you have teenagers craving retail therapy.
The real selling point of this villa is the pool - larger than most, with easy access via roman style steps.
I would not hesitate to recommend this villa for any away from it all break.
We have just returned from a lovely week in Souni. We were a group of 3 couples and the villa gave us plenty of flexibility and space.
The villa is well equipped and the pool area has plenty of space to sit without getting wet from people splashing in the pool.
The villa is a little off the beaten track so if you want somewhere within walking distance to amenities you may want to look elsewhere.
I would definitely stay in this villa again and have already recommended it to family!!
We had an excellent 2 weeks. Villa is simply stunning in a perfect location not too far from the ammenities.
The pool was a huge hit and ideal for cooling down.
Villa was well equipped home from home. Will be back
My husband and I used this lovely villa for a week in June as a base as we attended a wedding in Paphos but didn't want to stay in town.
What a lovely find. We have holidayed in Cyprus several times with our children (now teenagers) but always stayed in villages Paphos side of the island so decided to fly into Larnaca for a change. We'd not booked via OwnersDirect before and I was a little apprehensive, but from the initial conversations with Nicola and the subsequent emails I received from her, was reassured from the outset.
From either airport the drive is easy on the motorway - a little more challenging actually finding the villa but that is half the fun! Probably slightly nearer to Paphos than Larnaca - take your pick subject to cost and flight times.
The villa is as described in the details, set next to one other house but very private and quiet. Despite being June, being so high up the hillside not only gives great views but also affords good breezes which mean the heat is not stifling. The pool is also a great size with steps at one end. There are no sunshades on the main patio - probably sensible due to the breezes but there are areas to the side and front of the house that remain shady through the day.
All the bedrooms are basic but very comfortable as is the living room, with nice sofas and a decent TV with a good selection of DVDs. We did pay for WiFi which should also have improved the TV reception - we found it a bit hit and miss, ok early in the day but a bit sporadic in the evening. It didn't cause us too much of a problem but could be an issue if you needed/wanted regular internet access.
We didn't eat out locally as we stocked up at the supermarket in town - one of the best I've been to in Cyprus with a good wet fish counter, bakery and meat counter, but there are several recommendations in the guest book at the property. Tony, the local manager, also has lots of eating out suggestions and is a nice chap to while away some time chatting to.
Would definitely recommend and would stay again if the opportunity arises.
This is a lovely villa with stunning views of the surrounding valley right down to the sea. It is beautifully quiet and peaceful. The villa is spacious and is exactly as it appears in the description and in the photographs. It was clean and tidy on arrival. The villa was equipped with evrything necessary for an enjoyable holiday and the owner was very helpful. Given the location of the villa in the foothills, car hire is essential: however, the villa is within easy driving distance of Limassol and Pafos and the road up to Souni from the main road and the motorway is not a difficult drive. Some very good restaurants are only a short drive away, as are the Waterpark and Lady's Mile Beach. Since the villa is in such a quiet area, it would not suit those who are looking for a selection of bars and nightclubs within walking distance. However, if you are looking for a great holiday without the noise of staying in a busy town or a hotel, the villa is excellent. My wife and I loved staying at the villa and I would happily recommend it to friends and relatives.
10 minutes drive to the beautiful Kourion Beach on the Mediterranean. Family friendly, pebbles give way to sand and shallow waters suitable for young children. Lifeguards on duty. Three good restaurants are available on this beach.
All major airlines fly into the Cyprus airports of Larnaca and Paphos from every part of the UK and Europe. The closest airport is Paphos and is a simple 40 minute journey. Larnaca Airport is approx 70 minutes. Car hire is essential, all major car hire firms are located at both airports.
Walking distance of Souni local shop, taverna and tea room. Episkopi - 5 min drive to supermarkets, restaurants, butchers, ice-cream parlours, bakery, bank etc. Limassol 15 min drive. Kourion Beach 10 min drive. Troodos, Platres 30km.
Paphos 40 min drive. Waterpark 15 min drive.
