This apartment overlooks the sensational Jandia beach which has fine golden sand and extends for 14 kilometers. Most of the beach is clothes optional. Jandia is in the relatively unspoiled south of Fuerteventura. The private balcony which is south facing gets and has great views of the spectacular evening sunsets. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close to the apartment with 2 small supermarkets within 150 meters. Fuerteventura is a duty free island. There are 24 hr medical facilities and a dentist close by. Being close to the Sahara desert the summers are hot and the winters warm with little rain, thus there is an all year round holiday season.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The apartment is in the middle of Jandia separated from the beach only by a nature reserve which is approximately 200 yds wide, access to the beach is via wooden bridges crossing the nature reserve. There is a 4 lane walking, jogging, cycling track running alongside most of the beach. Apartmento 8016 is on the ground floor and is on an elevated site which provides an excellent view of the beach and sea, access is via an elevator from the street level. The apartment is in one of the oldest buildings in Jandia and because tourists mingle with the very friendly locals it is easy to quickly feel part of the community. Outside: At the street level there are relaxing bars, restaurants, shops and ice cream parlours in both directions. Jandia is next to the old fishing village of Morro Jable at the south west end of Fuerteventura and is well known for its 14 kilometer ,beach of fine golden sand. Most of the beach is clothes optional. At night Jandia is friendly, busy and safe, a choice of relaxing bars or bars with some live entertainment. Morro Jable fishing village can be walked to using a charming paved footpath running along the edge of the sea, here are some very Spanish shops, waterside restaurants, typically Spanish street restaurants, bars and tapas bars (some serving food until 1 am ). Taxis are easily available and inexpensive. Morro Jable has recently been pedestrianized and now many bars and restaurants have tabled and chairs in the street.

This apartment is in a central location close to beach, bars, restaurants, shops etc and has masses of free parking outside.

The apartment feels surprisingly spacious, is exceptionally well-equipped and Colin the owner is extremely generous in providing copious supplies of the essentials. He is always available to help sort out any issues that arise.

My wife and I are both tall and we found the bed rather small for two large units and also it squeaked when one rolled over.

We were not very lucky with the weather and were pleased to have the use of the quality TV, selection of English DVD's and books that were in the apartment.

We would definitely recommend this great value apartment to other travellers.

We discovered rather too late in the holiday that when the weather is cloudy/rainy in Morro del Jable the chances are that it is sunny 20 miles away around Costa Calma.

Lovely self contained apartment

Lovely self contained one bedroom apartment, that is not in a holiday complex.

The apartment balcony over looks the beautiful beach

When we arrived ,we were met by the excellent hoste and owner Colin.

Colin showed us around the flat and explained how certain things worked.Very clean and well maintained

Well stocked bathroom with shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Excellent power shower, there is also a washing Machine with washing powder and conditioner.

The Kitchen has all the appliances you can think of, the fridge was stocked with milk , ham and cheese.

There was also bread tea/coffee, oils sugar ,salt etc.

The flat is a home from home with everything you could possibly need.

The area has a good selection of shops ,restaurant’s and bars.Our favoutite restaurant was the the Bogeda tapas bar in morra jable which is about 20mins walk from the apartment(We ate there 3 times during our stay)

The beech’s offer all different types of water sports ,windsurfing/kitesurfing at club ion(15min car ride), diving etc.

I would definately recommend this apartment for couples or a family with one child or 2 toddlers.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we are going to rebook for next year.

Reinvigorate yourself at earths natural Spa

If you're looking to look after your health, walking in the sunshine, exfoliating in the African sands, enjoying the clear blue sea and feeling the saltwater on your skin while basking on the sun drenched beaches then this is for you.

Lots of walking, lovely people and this apartment makes you feel part of the community. Every morning the locals smile with a greeting of Hola...

If you want discos,mindless organised activities then this might not be for you. I personally like to holiday with the locals and not in some hotel that feels like a grazing field for tourists.

Colin and Sam are hospitable and we could not wish for anything else on our stay. Everything was ready for the beach (tents, wind breaker, towels etc).

Great well equipped, spotlessly clean apartment, friendly and helpful owner

Colin was in touch as soon as we booked with mobile number, and again just before we travelled to arrange a place/time for meeting up.

Initial impressions as we approached the building weren't brilliant as it is an ex hotel with no real welcoming frontage, however the apartment was just as we expected from the photos. It is in the building behind the front part of the old hotel and accessed using the lifts to the 7th floor and then a walk up a gently ramp to the ground floor of the 2nd building. What needs to be remembered is that virtually all hotels/apartments in Morro Jable are perched on cliffs so there are always steps to negotiate, but not here. The apartment was bright and well equipped, the bed comfortable (for us anyway). Colin provides not just a "welcome pack" of necessities but enough for the first 2 days - tea,coffee,milk,soap,shampoo we travel with small amounts of all that but we needed in this case, there was even a couple of beers and white & red wine. The bathroom has a fantastic shower and includes a washing machine (washing liquid provided), so again no need to lug great amounts of clothing. The kitchen area has a good sized fridge, hob and oven and plenty of storage. We only ate in three nights out of twelve but if staying longer the kitchen is perfectly suitable for preparing any meal.

The balcony gets the sun in the morning through to about one o'clock so perfect for alfresco breakfast. There isn't an uninterrupted view of the beach as although you can see over the roof of the building in front, part of that building obstructs the view of the base of the light house, but more than enough of the beach is in sight to see what is going on. Being in the second building behind means there isn't a great deal of noise from the road but it must be appreciated that the apartments are a mix of holiday lets and homes and so there is the usual noise from people leaving for work in the morning.

There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance but it should be appreciated that 80% of the visitors are German and the restaurants go dead after about 9:30 pm, all have English language menus - just ask.

The very friendly and helpful Colin and his wife own two holiday apartments and live in a third, all are of a similar size and as he is only a couple of doors away easy to contact in event of a problem.

We haven't decided yet whether to have a repeat holiday in Fuerteventura but if we do we would certainly book here again.

Special interest holidays:

Jandia beach has calm waters for swimming and some stretches suitable for surfing. There are surfing, wind surfing and diving schools. Other activities include boat trips on which you often encounter dolphins, fishing trips, sailing, tennis, high speed power boat rides, Sedgway rides, Harley-Davidson rides, Trike tours Buggy tours and submarine trips. Close by are botanical gardens, camel rides, animal park, golf courses and some spectacular volcanic landscape with mountain passes and unspoilt local villages. Jandia has an open market on Thursdays.

Coast/Beach:

There are beaches all around the island, some on the northern coast are also spectacularly beautiful but may be subject to strong currents. Car hire is inexpensive and the island offers much to explore. In the other resorts advertised is " the 'MUST DO' excursion to Jandia where you will see the most spectacular beach in the whole of the Canaries and visit Morro Jable with it's mouthwatering ocean side restaurants and charming olde Spanish Streets.

Travel:

Jandia is 62 miles from the airport, A2B transfers offer return travel to Jandia for approximately £32 per person and the journey takes about 65 minutes.

Taxis are available from the airport and private transport can be arranged at the time of booking. There is plenty of free parking close to the apartment.

Distances:

Morro Jable fishing villiage within a 20 minute walk and the rest of the island is easily reached by car or bus
