We enjoy welcoming vistors to share our lovely gardens and swimming pool. Sometimes our children and grand-children will be visiting but usually the facilities are under-used so letting our cottages and flat seemed a good way of meeting more people and making proper use of our lovely home in the Cotswolds. We have lived in this village for twenty years and in the area for over thirty so are able to help visitors with where to go to get the best out of this lovely area.
Christopher Stockwell purchased this cottage in 1993
We had lived in this part of the Cotswolds for many years and found this house twenty years ago. It is a beautiful part of the world and we have been in and around this village for almost thirty years. The openness of the Cotswolds and the lovely stone villages have drawn people here from all over the world making it England's most popular area for tourists outside London. Where we are is quiet and undisturbed by traffic noise but within a short car-ride there are many attractions for children, like the Cotswold Wildlife Park or Birdland, as well as fascinating "stately homes" like Blenheim and Chastleton. At all times of year the changing colours of the countryside and of the stones in walls and houses make for lovely journeys and fascinating pictures for artists and photographers.
There are very few properties to rent that have a large indoor heated swimming pool and a hammam. Whether or not you enjoy a massage in the hammam, lying on the hot slab and relaxing in the steam is a rejuvenating experience. If you are energetic, the hard tennis court will burn off some calories or on a nice day a gentle game of croquet can be fun. On any day a walk round the acres of gardens is a lovely way of spending an hour or two. There is always something new to see.
All properties have free wi-fi and access to SkyTV so you do not need to feel cut-off if you have to be connected to the rest of the world for business or pleasure. Beds and upholstery are all new, made locally, and the furniture is an interesting mixture of antique and "arts & crafts".
"fabulous holiday, best cottage we've ever stayed in: loved the pool"
"so peaceful I could stay for ever, so much to do but so relaxing"
"real luxury, modern when comfort is needed and yet the best traditions maintained. I've never had a hammam outside Turkey and what a marvellous pool"
