Villa is perfectly suited for families.Within the small and exclusive complex there are 3 swimming pools – including one kiddies pool. There is also a sauna available in the main building. There is also an excellent family run restaurant that offers European and Thai food – they will even deliver to your villa so you can relax in your private spa while indulging yourself. This villa would suit families looking to get away from it all. The tropical gardens offer plenty of space for kids to play around and the beach is on your doorstep. Right on the beach front this villa is located approx 3 kilometres from Cha-am village. It offers a real opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The villa was initially decorated for owner living so its more like a home than a rental property. Take advantage of the exclusive private spa and the massive balcony that offers you sunshine all day long. Includes free WiFi (only villa in complex to offer this).
I live in Yasothon, in the North-East of Thailand and manage a number of properties in the Cha-am area.
I came to Thailand in 2001 as an Expat and most recently have been working in the rice fields up North and opened a new restaurant in Yasothon province.
I lived in Cha-am for a year in my beach villa and can share some of the local insights. I regularly take trips to ensure the villa is kept in the best condition!
My Father owns a villa in Gran Canaria and I look after the rentals for him too. He spends almost 6 months a year in the villa and the rest of the time its available to rent. It's kept in excellent condition and is a great place to relax and unwind.
Gerard O'Reilly purchased this villa in 2006
Great location and it's right on the beach. It's a real Thai village with great people, food and tropical gardens! Pure relaxation.
It's a real taste of the real Thailand but the property is located in an exclusive resort/complex that is mainly used by wealthy Thais for their weekend getaways from Bangkok.
Peace and relaxation.
Enjoy using the 3 swimming pools including one just for the kids.
The tropical gardens are immaculately kept and maintained.
Great beach walks and lovely cycling treks nearby.
Gran Canaria Villa:
Private heated, salt water pool.
Hot tub/ Jacuzzi in the back garden.
Sun all day long and right on the golf course.
Jane from UK:
Stayed here for 3 weeks with 6 members other family members, including 2 kids aged 3 and 4. The benefit of this is that the complex is quiet and relaxed. Most of the villas seem to be weekend holiday homes, so during the week you will basically have the pools to yourself. The villa itself was clean and spacious and the gardens are immaculate. My kids ran around barefoot on the grass most of the time. A great place to relax!
Bob from US:
We had a very peaceful time in Gerard's villa in Baan Talay Samran. The villa was very spacious, and would supply ample room for 2 families with children or 4 couples. Two masters have adjoining baths. Also, there was an additional bath on the second floor and a convenient first floor bath. Two of the bedrooms had access to a large 2nd floor deck with a table and chairs.
In addition to the 3 onsite pools, the ocean is avalable for swimming and cooling off in the humid Thailand weather.
We were a party of six adults and two small children and we loved every minute of our Christmas week stay in Ger's wonderful villa. From first enquiry all communications with Ger were excellent. He provided lots of maps and ideas of places to visit and arranged our seamless journey from Don Muang airport to the villa.
The villa itself was beautifullly furnished, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. There was always plenty of hot water for showers and good AC. There was plenty of room for us all to have our own quiet places with the various balconies and verandas when life got a bit too hectic!
My grandchildren loved the pools, which, for most of the week, we had to ourselves as the whole complex was very quiet. Some pools were sunny and some were shady at different times of the day so we were able to easily keep cool in the very hot Thai sun. Our beach and the warm Gulf sea, were through a small side gate, locked at night. On Christmas Day we were the only people there. Safe for sandcastles and swimming!
Thanks to Ger's google map we found a lovely beach restaurant, Krua, 10 minutes walk away, with delicious seafood and we were regular customers. It is right on the beach so just perfect.
We used the local shop/restaurant for liunches which were delivered and for water and beer. The food was always delicious and freshly cooked with a good choice. We did a huge Christmas food shop in the Tesco and Villa supermarkets in Hua Hin and that kept us going for the week with odd items bought locally.
We did go out and about using very reasonably priced taxis although you can hire a car, motor bikes and bicycles. The best trip was a 15 minute taxi drive for 8 at dusk one evening, to see the nightly 'bat run' where about 10 million bats leave their roosts inside the mountain and, high in the sky, fly out to sea for feeding. It is an absolutely amazing, not to be forgotten, sight!
We had a perfect holiday in Baan Talay Samran and I have no hesitation in recomnending Ger and his beautiful villa.
We spent a WE with friends in the house. The scenery is amazing.
When tide is low, you can enjoy a long walk on the beach, it is very quiet. Or just stay near one of the pool and relax.
The house is very big, perfect for 8 people. Very clean, with a nice living-room to have diner and enough kitchen equipment to cook.
It is better to have a car, but big C, shops, bars and restaurant are not that far away. Also, it is only a few hours away from bangkok.
The countryside is beautiful, perfect to rent bicycle and spend the day riding around.
The owner is very helpful, always replied my email very quickly, everything went perfectly.
We will most likely come back.
Beautiful villa in a small-scale resort, fully equipped, very neat with private jacuzzi, a variety of outdoor seating (patio and balconies), airco in all rooms and seating sufficient for my group of 8. We had a lovely time here. The small resort has nice pools, the largest one is pretty big and the gardens are beautiful. Contact with the owner I must say was excellent prior to, during and after our stay, even though he was on the other side of the planet. Very useful welcome guide in the house (please read before trying to ask the local staff or googling, most of your questions if not all are answered there!) and it's actually not that far from Bangkok (but what a different world altogether). Make sure you have your own transportation though, otherwise shopping, dining, sightseeing may become a sweaty adventure! I can recommend visiting Khao Nang Panthurat Forest Park (5-10 mins drive), Santorini Waterpark (15 mins drive, very expensive but fun if you have kids who love waterslides) and the Wednesday evening market near Cha Am railway station. The beach near the villa itself is not so great but you can head to Cha Am (North) Beach which is a bit cleaner and has more activities, although you end up having to pay for a deckchair (but you are under the shades which made it bearable for us this time of the year), so worth the investment. Plenty of nice restaurants in the area, supermarkets, street vendors (most delicious fruit ever) etc. We alternated between cooking ourselves and going out.
Local staff at the resort (as in most places in Thailand) is not really mastering the English language, that was the only improvement I could think of. However, this is also because the villas here are mostly owned by rich Thai, and I personally like to "go local", among Thai people (even though the place was very quiet and we only talked to 1 or 2 neighbours). So no need for the reception staff to speak English I guess, and with the owner making really good preparations and available by phone at all times this wasn't a big issue at all really. Check-in and check-out went smooth and very fast.
All in all, I can really recommend this villa if you'd like to get out of busy Bangkok and go seaside for a couple of days/week, but don't want to go down beaten tracks. Good combination of luxury, tranquility and couleur locale. I hope to come back here one day!
We loved our holiday in this villa. The villa is large and well maintained and is so close to the beach (just a few seconds) but mostly we used the 3 swimming pools.
The complex is a little out of the town but we hired a car for some days and then used taxis for other days. We also used bicycles to get around which was fun.
The owner, Gerard, is really helpful and gave us all the information and help possible from the first inquiry until we left.
We are looking forward to coming back again and to enjoy another quiet and relaxing holiday
Highly recommend staying here to get away from all life's stress & pressure.
Firstly I would in the future have followed the directions given by the owner. It's tricky to find so best to look at the maps before you leave - the owner actually sent us maps, photos and youtube videos!
The villa is superb. There are 3 stories and 4 bedrooms is even better than what the videos and images show when you see it
The swimming pools are clean and big and you are seconds away from the beach.
It is a very relaxing place with not many people staying there well maintained and secure.
Well worth the visit and would go back again
I’ve been living in Thailand for many years and was always looking for a nice place to escape to from Bangkok. Then I found this villa. It’s perfect. Just 2 hours drive from Bangkok and it’s a direct contrast to the craziness of Bangkok. It’s serene and very laid back. Actually, it’s very quiet – but that’s what we want!
Villa is nicely decorated and well laid out. WiFi is excellent and all the linen is new.
It is a few minutes drive to the main village so you should have your own transport but I did notice that there is a shuttle bus service available (probably at an extra cost)
Special interest holidays:
Excellent golf courses nearby. Total of 8 world class courses within 40 minutes drive... some just 10 minutes away.
Clubs can be borrowed and collection from villa can be arranged.
PLay with your own caddy and feel like a pro!
Right on the beach. 3km from Cha-am town.
Imagine waking up in the morning to the sounds of the ocean and tweeting birds. Brew a coffee and relax on the huge balcony with recliner seats or even use the hammock if you havent really woken up yet.
Once you are up for it take a stroll along the beach and watch the fisherman in action with nets and rods.... dodge a few crabs along the way!
Then back for a swim in one of the 3 swimming pools and you can even try out the jacuzzi or sauna.
I can arrange airport collection from Bangkok and its about a 2 hour drive from Bangkok International Airport. There is also short flights available from Bangkok to Hua Hin which is just 20km away.
I can also arrange for local car rental.
20km to Hua Hin. Petchaburi is about 2 hours drive from Bangkok. It is a favourite weekend destination for people from Bangkok to escape to.
There are national parks, waterfalls, temples, palaces, spa retreats, golf courses, fishing parks, beaches etc all in the area.
The area is a golfers paradise... 8 world class courses within 30 minutes drive!
For those interested in fishing there are 2 top class fishing parks and of course there is the vast open sea available. Deep sea fishing is great fun but you can also take a cruise on a lovely wooden boat to the nearby islands and do some snorkelling.
The area is excellent for cycling and there is a local club that arrange tours of the area. Khao Yai natural park is nearby and is great for trekking and escaping the sun and heat.
There is an elephant sanctaury in Petchaburi (a few kilomtres away) where they educated people on preservation of elephants and many other endangered species. Its not a tourist trap but a place that really cares about the animals.
Finally, don’t forget the amazing Thai spas that offer excellent treatments to ease away the stresses and trials of life… but you wont find any stress in Talay Samran – its just pure relaxation.
As the villa is a few kilometres outside the main town centre it is advisable to rent a car. We can help with arranging these details – it will only cost about 1,500 baht per day to rent a car.
I also look after rentals of my neighbours properties so if mine is not available please get in touch and I can check their availability. THey are 2, 3 and 4 bedroom villas.
