About Mrs Justine Kavak
We are a Turkish/English couple Melih and Justine Kavak who have been married for 20 years and lived in Akyaka for 11 years. We live in Akyaka and will always be on hand if required to help with local information and anything else you may need. We feel we have the right combination of local knowledge and understanding of what holidaymakers may need to make the most of their holidays in the area. Nothing pleases us more than to see our guests happy and relaxed and enjoying their well deserved break.
Mrs Justine Kavak purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Mrs Justine Kavak chose Ula
We bought Zambak Villa in 2007 and spent the next 2 years restoring the villa to maintain its original character and charm whilst updating it to provide all modern comforts. The location is ideal to chill out and relax with only the sound of birdsong and the breeze in the 200 year old Kavak Tree opposite the villa to savour while floating in the pool. We also appreciate being near the resort of Akyaka for those that want to sample the local delights of a river or beach side restaurant or bar. This location provides the ideal combination of privacy and tranquility whilst also being within easy reach of a lively Turkish Beach resort. Within 90 mins drive in both directions of Akyaka are some exceptional Turkish natural and ancient wonders just waiting to be discovered.
What makes this Villa unique
Zambak Villa is unique as it is partly a restored Turkish Village house with wooden ceilings, internal windows, locally carved cupboard doors and an open fire in the kitchen that can be used to cook in. In this way staying in our villa can give you an insight into the traditional Turkish way of life that still continues in the village. Of course you can still enjoying all the modern facilities such as a private pool, air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen which will make your holiday more comfortable.

Top notch villa in a top notch location
We have just returned from our second stay at Zambak Villa and yet again we were not disappointed. Zambak Villa offers something for everyone. It's situated in the middle of a forest with lots of walking trails but isn't far from beaches and the sea. Although we were there at the beginning of the season, all the local restaurants were open and the weather was warm enough to swim in the pool. Favourite eateries of ours this time were the Big Blue on the beach (shrimps were to die for!) the Mona Lisa cafe on the lakeside at Köyceğiz and Halil'in Yeri on the D400 on the way to Marmaris. The villa itself is clean and spacious and sleeps 6 very comfortably. It is very peaceful and is the best place to relax and unwind. The pool and courtyard is cleaned every day. Foxy (the resident guard dog 😄) was always there to give us a big welcome. We enjoyed ourselves so much we hope to visit for a third time later in the year.
Thank you Denise for your Top Notch review! We are so glad you enjoyed your second stay at Zambak Villa and are looking forward to your third. Thanks for all your recommendations in the local area it really helps future guests get a feel for the area. Also for your lovely comments about the villa we are glad you are so comfortable there. We look forward to your return Justine and Mel.
Peacefull Village Location with all amenities
We booked the villa for a week. Then changed the dates of arrival. Justine was really helpfull in not only accomodating but refunding part payment as it was low season. Very generous and reassuring. The villa is very nice, old village house restored and extended lovingly. It has all the modern features and amenities plus the feel of a village house and location. All bedrooma and main sitting room had Air Conditioners installed and working. It is a must in the summer days. The kitchen is well equipeed and there is a dish washer too, very handy. There were plenty of consumables for the kitchen and toilets. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of spare linen. The stairs to upper floor are a bit narrow and steep, point for older people. The Swimming pool is located on a height and overlooks the valley towards the sunset. Can be very hot during summer midday sun. Evenings and early mornings were really pleasant. The walkway around the pool is a bit salippery when wet and the access is limited from one side only. The other three sides have a very narrow ledge. It was a really great place to relax with seats and linen etc all in place. There are a few beautiful walks behind the house up the mnountain. The villages all around are very scenic and peacefull. Plenty of good dining on the main D400. Mugla is half an hour away. Airport is a bit farther but as you will need a car, it does not make a difference.
We thank Justine for all the help, and making our time in the villa a very special memory for us to keep.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Zambak Villa and will take away lovely memories. As you mention in your review we have restored the villa sympathetically making sure it does not lose its authenticity and rural charm but also providing all modern amenities you could wish for. We are glad you appreciated the homely feel to the villa and all consumables and spare linens. We would just like to point out to future guests that if stairs may be a problem there is a downstairs bedroom and bathroom which you can use. We have taken great care with our outside areas and pool, as mentioned in your review the pool is in an elevated position which makes for a great swimming experience as you are not overlooked and have wide open views. This means that the pool does have three open sides with access from the sun terrace, there are wide marble stairs into the pool which creates real ease of access and a sitting area compared with ladder steps. We are glad you enjoyed the local area and all the local restaurants where you can find authentic Turkish fare at reasonable prices. Thank you for your detailed and informative review it really helps paint a picture of Zambak Villa and the surrounding area. We hope you may chose to visit us again someday, Kind Regards Justine Kavak
Fabulous villa & location
This is our second visit to Zambak Villa & we're already thinking about next year's holiday there. For us this is the perfect location, in the beautiful Turkish countryside yet only a few minutes' drive from beaches & all the facilities you could need. It's a wonderful place to switch off & relax but also near many interesting locations for days out. Justine & Mel could not be more friendly & helpful. All the ingredients for a perfect holiday.
Thank you Rebecca for your lovely review, so glad you returned and will be returning to Zambak Villa. As you describe the villa is in an ideal location to chill out and enjoy the Turkish countryside whilst also being near enough to get lots of different sites in all directions from the villa, there is lots more to discover and explore. Here are to many more perfect holidays at Zambak, Justine and Mel
This was our fourth villa holiday in Turkey having previously stayed in the Fethiye area, and we absolutely loved it. The villa was clean, comfortable, very well equipped and very calm and peaceful being in a rural location despite being only a couple of km from the main road and 15 minutes' drive to Akyaka. The owners Justine and Mel are lovely and if you need anything at all they are on it straight away even for basics such as bulb replacements!
Lovely evenings spent in the gorgeous courtyard with the trickle of water sounds from the fountain just below the villa, and the very lovely Foxy the dog for company, are some of the most endearing memories we will take from any holiday. Future guests please look after Foxy she is fabulous!
As you can no doubt tell we had a wonderful time and would recommend this villa to anyone thinking of holidaying in this area, is happy to drive given the location away from the shops and restaurants, and seeking a genuine away from it all experience.
We will be back!
Thank you for your great review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and the peace of the villa. As you pointed out although the rural setting is tranquil you are not that far from shops and restaurants 5 minute drive to the local ones or a 15 min drive to Akyaka. Foxy is fast becoming a star think I need to include a photo of her at the villas! She is great company and always gives everyone a an enthusiastic welcome.
Comfortable, tastefully furnished with all amenities you would need. Easy to find rural location.
We really enjoyed Villa Zambak and are already considering a return visit. It was an easy drive from Dalaman with good access to the villa. The whole place was comfortable and it was always possible to find a spot in the shade as the sun moved round. We particularly enjoyed the courtyard where we spent most of our time reading, eating and drinking! It was nice to be in a community hearing daily life going on around us, from the two cows in the field beside us to the chooks at the little farm across the way. The added bonus of the company of Foxy the dog was a pleasure. She's very well behaved and loves a massage and a little treat now and again. We loved it all.
Thank you for you kind review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and wish to return to Zambak Villa one day. Thanks for your comments about the courtyard we know not everyone wants to sunbathe all day although that is possible by the pool.
If you want shade and a book the stone seat with cushions in the courtyard is ideal. We look forward to your return, Justine and Mel
Charming villa set in a forest near Akyaka
If we were any more relaxed after this holiday we would be horizontal!!! What a perfect piece of tranquility. Zambia Villa is a perfect place to unwind and destress from the normal rigours of city life. Set in a forest but not far from Akyaka, this villa has the best of both worlds. Equidistant from Mugla and Marmaris it is perfectly placed for exploring the area, or on less energetic days, lounge around the pool or the courtyard. Something for everyone. Not forgetting Foxy, the resident JRT, who has a kennel in the lane but waits for you by the gate whenever you leave the villa. We'll definitely be back next year.
