We are an English couple who live on the property. Clint ran his own design and build property business in the UK for over 30 years and used his skills to sympathetically renovate the complex to a very high standard. Gail has a luxury hotel background of over 25 years. We both speak French and are happy to offer assistance and information on the local area so that you are able to make the most of your holiday in Brittany.
Clint & Gail purchased this cottage in 2007
We purchased a holiday home in 2003 and loved the area so much we decided to stay permanently. We found this renovation project which we commenced in 2008 and have taken our time to completely modernise the interiors whilst retaining the original character and charm of each property. We hope we have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
A peaceful and tranquil setting in a rural location but well situated for an easy drive to beaches and places of interest.
Excellent, we loved our stay. The facilities were immaculately clean and modern, the children absolutely loved the pool area. We enjoyed several barbecues and will be returning.
Nice quiet relaxing stay, have stayed in Brittany several times before. This was the best by far. Lovely cottages, beautifully presented and great to have a pool.
Le Petit Arbre is set in a gravelled courtyard with ample parking and overlooking the small swimming pool. The exterior charms you immediately, neat and simple in the French rural style, and bedecked with lovely window boxes and planters. The lounge is comfortable and spacious, and the kitchen, though small, is well-equipped and pleasant to work in, looking out onto the lawned garden. The ground floor bathroom has a bath with shower over, and is light, airy and warm. The bedroom, occupying the entire first floor, is reached via a dog-leg wooden staircase which requires a little care. The huge bed is extremely comfortable and may indeed encourage you to waste your precious holiday time lying in, but the gorgeous views from the bedroom windows will soon drag you out to explore!
Outside, the garden is well maintained, and garden furniture and a communal BBQ make a perfect end to an energetic day's holiday-making.
Clint and Gail are absolutely the perfect hosts. Not only do they ensure that their properties are kept immaculate throughout, but they are mines of information both about the local area and further afield. They are interested in your day to day activities without being in the least intrusive, and nothing is too much trouble for them. Their kindness and hospitality made the trip for us.
On Clint's recommendation we visited St Anne d'Auray, which though we have holidayed in Brittany for years, was new to us and a must-see. We also went to the picturesque towns of Auray and Pontivy, the menhirs of Carnac and the walled city of Concarneau.........there is enough to see and do here, even out of season, to fill your stay. In season, you will be spoiled for choice! As many local eateries had already closed for the season, we ate out at lunchtime wherever we happened to be, being particularly impressed by Le Colibri in Pontivy.and then picnicked at home in the evening with supplies from the local supermarket
I would confidently recommend Le Petit Arbre to anyone at all, the charming property, the wonderful location and above all the warm-hearted hosts make it a perfect holiday location.
A convenient base for exploring the surrounding countryside. Clint & Gail were warm friendly hosts and were happy to provide a lot of information on things to do, which was much appreciated. The cottage has been renovated very nicely and is very comfortable. All the amenities are of an excellent quality. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!
After searching the internet for the perfect place to stay, we finally came across Les Pelerins! What a find it turned out to be. It proved to be 'everything it said on the tin' and more. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and everything you could possibly need in the cottage (unless you want servants)! Nothing was too much for the owners Gail and Clint. They were welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely nice people. The pool was cleaned and opened willingly every day, the barbecue was always available and we enjoyed a really entertaining pizza night organised by Gail and Clint, where we made our own and baked in the lovely Pizza Oven. Everybody loved it. The cottage is in a quiet, unspoilt hamlet far from the madding crowds but a short travel to some beautiful beaches and sites. Clint is always happy to point you in the right direction. We would certainly visit again - in fact we had a lovely family next door who have been three times already! Our party consisted of Grandparents, daughter and son in law and our lovely Granddaughter who is just 6. There was something for all of us. I would thoroughly recommend Les Pelerins and would suggest you book early because the word is out!!
This is our second holiday at Les Pelerins, we couldn't fault anything. The accommodation is of a very high standard, and absolutely spotlessly clean. Clint and Gail are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them, they are a mine of information on local knowledge, and always willing to help. The pool is beautifully kept, the grounds are immaculate, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone, we will definitely keep going back, it's our haven of peace and tranquillity- we love it.
Superb property in a wonderful rural location. This was out third visit as the Gites are of a very high standard. They are well maintained and spotlessly clean. All in all a home from home.
The owners, Clint and Gail, are friendly, knowledgeable about the local area and ensure that you you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and we will return. Also we have no hesitation in recommending Les Pelerins to anyone thinking of holidaying in this area of France.
After travelling from the UK it was greatly appreciated that Clint came to find us on the road to their gite complex....we took the wrong road......Both he and Gail were great hosts, being very friendly and helpful with information about the area. Nothing was too much bother for them to make our stay enjoyable.
The cottage was cozy and clean. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in the Lorient area. It was great for the two of us.
We would be happy to recommend it to others who want to explore the area and also it wasn't too far from the coast which we travelled to a couple of times during the week..
If we travel to the area again we would love to stay in Le Petit Arbre again.
