About Beatrice Reitmeier
I love transforming old properties and fell in love with this one because of its position and spectacular views.
Beatrice Reitmeier purchased this Cottage in 2010
Why Beatrice Reitmeier chose Exeter
This property allows you get 'off the world' in every way possible. It is totally peaceful, with excellent nearby walks, birdlife and deer, even a fishing lake just below it. Good proximity to the coast and nearby city of Exeter.

Beautiful, peaceful location
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, can’t recommend it enough! Beautiful views (saw deers in the fields), not too far from local attractions. Probably would be too small for anymore than 4.
Relaxing weekend in a fantastic location
Really enjoyed our stay at The Old Telephone Exchange. It was the perfect size for my wife and I and our two dogs who just loved the place. Peaceful and restful with stunning views and some amazing walks for us and the animals. Wild dear, huge birds of prey gliding overhead and great weather made our weekend just perfect. If Beatrice will have us again we would definately return.
Hideaway in picturesque location.
A lovely little cottage type bungalow, with extra bed in loft space. Great for a get away from it all break, with rolling countryside and wildlife galore!!!! We saw a mum pheasant and her chicks, rabbits and beautiful deer in the surrounding woodland. Beautiful retreat. Would highly recommend.
Interesting little property. Loved the location. Great views. Close to Dawlish.
average not a good value for money
could do with a good clean
dvd combo don't work
Fantastic view great location .
Really enjoying our weekend away . Enjoy the view and the log burner were stars of the show ! Would love to return in the future . New welcome pack bread , milk and butter .
From Mar 2017 there will be two futon beds on the ground floor and a double mattress on a mezzanine shelf with spectacular views across farmland and woods to the sea.
The wood burner gives out amazing heat (wood supplied). There are also electric heaters for instant heat.
There is a full kitchen, a wet room, TV with DVD player, a parking area and a bbq with outside seating.
Waist high fencing all round ensures that the outside space is safe for children and animals.
There are no immediate neighbours except deer, hares, buzzards and other wildlife.
No street lighting and very little local traffic. Good mobile phone signal.
The Old Telephone Exchange is close to beaches, restaurants and dining. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, isolation, peace, views and location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets - no extra charge).
The OTE is tiny. It is ideally suited to two adult guests, but can accommodate up to six from Mar 17. Prices are for 2 guests. Extra guests will be charged £12/night/pp.
My guests enjoy complete privacy but know that I am available for any problems.
You will need a car to get to and from the cottage. There is a mainline train station, buses up and down the coast and a ferry to Exmouth (which will accept dogs and bicycles) all three miles away at Starcross and you can leave your car there FREE if you wish to venture farther afield by public transport.
There are suggestions for places to visit and things to do at the OTE.
There is great walking and excellent mountain bike trails in and around the area.
Supermarkets, restaurants, fish and chip shop, pub and local shops are 3 miles away.
