This is a good way to sample a real Turkish dwelling although modernised to suit Western tastes, but set among other small traditional Turkish homes in Kaya Valley, quite well known for its deserted Greek village featured in Louis deBernierre's book, Birds Without Wings. This small but adorable cottage is in a very tranquil valley but also close to the bustling towns and holiday resorts of Olu Deniz, Hisaronu and of course the big market town of Fethiye. All are a short drive away, as are the more famous archaeological sites from the Byzantine, Lycian and Roman times. A fascinating place to explore.
We are John and Louise and we have managed Ilkim Ev for many years. Every winter we carefully make improvements to the house be they renovations, equipment renewals or general home improvements to make sure your stay at the villa is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. We are both sailors and for many years, we left the villa for our sailing boat where we carried out charter holidays on the amazing Turquoise coast of Turkey.
It's just one of the most tranquil valleys. Still in rural rustic and traditional Turkey with modern towns and resorts just over the hills.
Peace and quiet
We stayed for a week and by the end we wanted to move there.the villa was exceptionaly clean, the pool was beautiful and the views are amazing. The village is very traditional and quiet.the local people were very welcoming but very little english spoke.(adds to the experiance tho).cem was very helpful but consider car hire as we spent a lot on taxis.overall an excellent holiday and will certainly be staying again.many thanks.
