About Gerda van Schaik

Since 1984 I live in the Dordogne and did restore many houses in a little hamlet and later on, since 2006 I started to restore this rather exceptional house. I know ... it's quiet exceptional for a woman of course to have such ambition and passion for old authentic buildings but ... let me be the exception then ... I love it !

Gerda van Schaik purchased this house in 2006

Why Gerda van Schaik chose Cubjac-Auvézère-Val D'Ans

A great house with a rich past and enormous authenticity, this Mansion from the 17th century, with its impressive stone and wooden staircases and entrances, the many fireplaces, stone (pisé) and wooden floors, and its three meters high ceilings, after restoration has lost its thick layer (stûck) powder and restored its authentic beauty and charm.
