The Old Parsonage is 6 bedrooms and sleeps 15/17 guests . It is located in the hamlet of Galmpton, near Salcombe, Hope Cove and Thurlestone. Hope Cove is a mile away and has two beaches,one is dog friendly,good pub and village shop. The house has been extensively refurbished in recent years to provide a very high standard of accommodation for one/two families in a beautiful location. There is a large enclosed garden with lawns and glorious views.

The OP is just under 2 hours from Bristol. The easiest way , if you have not been here before is : When on A38, take TOTNES turn off, when approaching Totnes you need to take Kingsbridge sign, approaching Kingsbridge take the Salcombe Road, after about 4/5 miles you need to take the road to Hope Cove. When on this road,after ac ouple of miles (down then up !) you reach a T junction, go straight over (direction Hope Cove) and after a mile you are in Galmpton ; there is a left hand ‘fork’ road , take this and after an s bend the road straightens and the OP is about 200m on the left.. If you have got as far as the church you have gone too far.

There is a key box in the porch and the code is 1004.

Notes on accommodation: Well behaved dogs are welcome, by arrangement.w IMPORTANT : Sept 2014 We are intending to build a summer house this winter, in the lower part of the garden, it will have bi-fold opening doors and their will be pool and table tennis tables. The rates for 2015 will remain the same. Outside: Spacious garden with patio area and BBQ. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is provided but not towels, lost too many! Cleaning can be organised during your stay. Other: There is a further living room / snug and working fireplace and television with views over the garden.

The Old Parsonage. A little Gem in the Heart of Devon.

From the moment we walked through the door everyone in the party immediatley felt comfortable and relaxed. The house is spacious, clean, charming and interesting as well as being well stocked with everything we needed to make our stay effortless. There was a much appreciated bottle of ' bubbly' and a welcome card on arrival, very nice. The kids loved the toys and games room and the guys loved the pool table.... The huge kitchen was ideal for everyone to get together and the large garden with the views, just lovely. Its a straight walk a mile down the lane to Hope Cove with its pub and cafes and a short driving distance to beautiful beaches and shops. Be mindful of the narrow lanes - but no problem if you take it slow.

We loved this place and its beautiful charm. Cant wait to go back.

Our family half-term holiday in Devon.

The property was a very appealing,spacious house with plenty of character. It was ideal for a large family/friends gathering. It was beautifully clean and pretty well equipped. The pool table proved extremely popular! The rear garden, with a beautiful view, was a delight. It was situated in a very quiet hamlet but within easy reach of beaches(surfing at Bantham was super), the charm of Hope Cove, the beauty of Salcombe and , of course, Dartmouth. Our favourite place to eat was The Church House Inn at Churchstow (about 6 miles away) where a carvery is served several days a week. Andrew Turner provided excellent 'customer service' and was most helpful and friendly. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to The Old Parsonage.

A wonderful place to stay...

We loved the house - and the huge garden!

Great facilities, loads of space and in a fabulous location, near the beach and several great walks.

There was plenty of room for everyone (10 of us and 2 dogs) and we wanted for nothing.

Andrew kept in regular contact with us and left clear instructions about how to access the property.

I would definitely recommend this lovely house to anyone.

A beautiful family home. Welcoming and clean.

12 of us stayed in this beautiful home for a hectic chaotic busy family Easter reunion. The house was just the perfect place for this. Our family ages range from Grandparents to new babies and everything in between (toddlers, teenagers and stressed parents). The house was big enough for us all to have our own space when we needed it but the large kitchen provided a perfect place to come together for family time. The garden is perfect for dogs and kids to explore, there's even a fire pit, which our teenagers loved. Hope cove is an easy amble away with a lovely restaurant and pub and lovely safe beaches. Waitrose don't deliver to this postcode (boo!) but a lovely bottle of prossecco was waiting on our arrival (yay) Kingsbridge is nearby so a supermarket was near enough for supplies to be gathered when needed. Toilet roll and a kitchen pack are supplied for short breaks. The bedrooms were spacious clean and tidy with freshly made comfortable beds and beautiful views over the fields. The main en suite was a delight (especially the shower!) The play room is packed with games and connect four wars quickly and blissfully dominated our evenings. You won't get a mobile phone signal but wifi is provided (although we would have been fine without it as there's so much to do). The owner was helpful and kind from booking our stay to even accommodating an extra night for some of our long distant relatives to help with their travel plans. We thoroughly enjoyed our break in this holiday home from home. Perfect for a large family break by the sea!

Amazing family holiday

We have just returned from a lovely family holiday at this property. What can I say?..... very welcoming, cosy and clean property. The location is perfect for beach or countryside walks also some lovely pubs at Hope's cove. We were 7 adults, 7 children and 2 dogs and everyone was very happy. We will definitely be returning.
