Welcome to our lovely gite 'Kersidan' - Breton for ‘Place of Peace’. The gite is a converted stone walled barn, approximately 300 years old. It has been sympathetically restored but retains many original features such as exposed stonework and beams and has everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. It is set in beautiful gardens with many specimen shrubs and trees and is part of a small hamlet with only four other houses, surrounded by rolling farm and woodland. The cottage has its own secluded garden and apart from the main house there are no immediate neighbours.
Kersidan is ideally situated for exploring Brittany and its many historic towns and villages. The spectacular Southern Brittany coast with its glorious beaches and quaint fishing ports is within a 45 minute drive.
Kersidan sleeps 2 comfortably in a kingsize bed and there is an additional double sofabed in the living area. A cot and high chair are also available. The gite is ideal for couples but can accommodate up to four people.
The gite has a shower room and WC upstairs and a bathroom and WC downstairs. It features a fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, washing machine and a table seating four. UK terrestrial satellite television and free Wi-Fi Broadband Internet access are available. * As we are situated in a very rural location our telephone and Internet connections can be interrupted at times by circumstances outside our control. Please be aware that we can not guarantee Internet connection at all times and it also can be very slow.
Please note that our prices are fully inclusive. There are no extra charges for heating, electricity, bed linen, towels (excluding beach towels) and end of let cleaning. For rentals longer than 7 nights, a weekly linen change and clean is included.
If you require different arrival and departure days or a shorter stay (less than 7 nights), please contact us.
Upon confirmed booking you will receive a comprehensive information pack for Kersidan with details of the local area, places of interest and lots more!
We can also offer discounts on ferry crossings with Brittany Ferries - please ask when making a booking.
We are now able to accept online payment via debit or credit card through Owners Direct/Home Away group. We can also take payment via internet transfer or cheque. A non refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure the booking with final payment due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

About Mark and Alison Brooke-Read
Thank you for taking the time to look at our lovely gite in Brittany, 'Kersidan'. We are extremely proud of the gite and our detached house which is situated alongside. Our previous guests have given us excellent feedback, not only on the gite itself but on the gardens, surrounding countryside and the area. We live and work in the UK and we acquired Kersidan in May 2010. It was a dream come true for us and we have never looked back. The problem we have is getting enough time to spend there. Whether it's summer or winter, we enjoy every visit we make. If you do travel out to our gite we're confident that you'll have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable time. Mark and Alison Brooke-Read

Why Mark and Alison Brooke-Read chose Lignol
We wanted a country retreat and a bolt-hole from the hectic UK lifestyle. The surrounding area has everything we wanted - peace, local amenities and access to beaches. Since owning Kersidan we have made many good friends with neighbours and the local farming community - everyone has made us very welcome.

A little piece of paradise!
The gite is lovely, set in it's own garden. The local area is rural, peaceful and totally relaxing. Beaches are within easy reach as well as places of historic interest. Just lovely!
Idyllic and peaceful
Well-located in a small hamlet in central/south Brittany, the gîte provided a real 'get away from it all' break. The nearest village (10 mins drive) has 2 tabacs, a boulangerie and épicerie. There is a supermarket close by too. We found many places worth visiting within an hours drive - Pontivy, Port-Louis, Carnac and Quiberon as well as the lac at Mur-de-Bretagne. The gîte itself is comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen, BBQ and private garden with furniture. The bedroom does has a sloping ceiling so may present difficulties if you are tall! The information from the owners was really useful and the communication excellent. The only disappointment was the weather....!
Thank you for your review of Kersidan. As ever these reviews are useful for us and our potential guests and they provide accurate and unbiased information. We would love to welcome you back at some point in the future. Best regards Mark and Alison
A little piece of heaven
A beautiful gite in beautiful surroundings.
Thank you so much for your review of Kersidan. We hope that you had a lovely and relaxing stay and we would love to welcome you back in the future. Mark and Alison
Very comfortable and cozy
Enjoyed a peaceful week. Explored the countryside and coastline. The cottage had all we wanted except we couldn't get French TV. Our lack of technical know how no doubt, and only a minor matter.
Thank you for your review of Kersidan. As always these are very useful for us and our future guests. The lack of French and other European television channels is something we need to investigate.

quiet rural location
Quiet rural location but only 15 minutes from the nearest town with a supermarket. The cottage was clean and well presented with everything you would need for a holiday stay, uk satellite tv is also available which is a bonus. The owners provide good information about the local area which we visited in September when the whole of Brittany was very quiet but the lack of traffic at that time of year was a plus point. We would definitely recommend this property for two people looking for a quiet break.
Thank you for your kind review of Kersidsan. As we always say these reviews are very important to us and our future guests. We would love to welcome you back to Kersidan in the future.
