Guestbook comments from the owner

"An absolutely fabulous cottage with everything you could possibly need and so much more! Set in a spectacular location. A fabulous find. We've had a brilliant break. Walks, castles, bike ride, Clearwell caves, Puzzlewood and Tintern and a drink in the cosy Saracen's Head before getting the 'ferrie' home... perfect. The nature theatre at the back of the cottage each morning was an added treat - foxes, squirrels, pheasants, birds.. beautiful."

Karen, Alex & Sam Warner & Nanny Jenny, Wiltshire. 25 March 2013

"A lovely cottage, warm, cosy and comfortable with everything we needed and more. Great walks from the door, we walked to the 'rock' the hard way both ways!! Excellent food at Old Ferrie Inn & Saracens Head good too. Wildlife amazing have lots of photos many from back door. A special place we hope to be back."

Really nice place for a mid week break

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice four day break in Symons Yat. There isnt much here so it is really relaxing. The cottage was excellent and there was everything there we needed so it made cooking really easy.

There is a great view from the front of the cottage, which is kept in good order and is very clean. Couldn't have asked for more.

Stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay at Sue's Cottage. Was a little unsure on booking if it would be a bit confined in a mews/terrace type set up, but no issue at all. Bank holiday weekend so people around but not at all hectic. Cottage was clean, functional and everything had been thought of to ensure a very comfortable stay - thank you! Footpaths all around to explore, canoeing close by, cycle paths too. Woke to birdsong each morning, a very cute fox hoping for a feed each day, and wonderful forest views. Had everything I wish for in a holiday - water, woods and wildlife! Hope to return!

A fantastic, well equipped, warm cottage.

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic cottage, with everything you need for a holiday.

The instructions for locating the cottage and key were brilliant (it was 10pm and dark when we arrived).

The cottage was very clean and all the extra things that the owner provides is brilliant. Loads to do in the area, the only time we used the car was to go shopping. will be back next year.

Booth - Excellently prepeared and equiped cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is very well set up for guests to have a home from home in a spectacular location; only clothes and personal items need to be taken as all other household items are catered for. The cottage was cleaned to an exemplary standard prior to arrival.

Lovely cottage in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is lovely and quaint yet had excellent facilities with household consumables like washing up liquid etc all being provided, there was even a box of chocolates to welcome us! The owner was exceptional helpful at providing help prior to our stay which added to the experience being smooth and relaxing. The property has outstanding views and the area is fantastic with loads to do without traveling any distance. There are four family friendly pubs within 2 miles that serve fantastic food. We would love to go again - best family holiday in UK yet!
