About Ross Davidson
We're from Newcastle and have two children who are currently both in further education. We initially bought Fell View in order to have more family holidays in an area we absolutely love going to. We can drive to Sedbergh in two hours which is close enough to let us have long weekends there or simply pop over for the day. We've got some very fond memories and wonderful pictures of our children playing in and exploring the surrounding area. We've always enjoyed going to Fell View and hope that our guests enjoy it as much as us.
Ross Davidson purchased this House in 2000
Why Ross Davidson chose Sedbergh
We'd been going to Sedbergh for family holidays for years and really enjoyed being there. It's about a two hour drive from home and quite easy to get to. We decided to buy a holiday home for ourselves to allow us to spend more time and our holidays there. We still use the house a lot ourselves when it isn't booked by other people. We've been renting Fell View as a holiday let for eleven years and we're always particularly pleased when people who've been previously book for further visits.
What makes this House unique
Sedbergh is located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's easy to get to and is five miles from the M6. It's a fantastic base for visiting the Dales or going across to the Lake District. Alternatively, there's plenty of lovely walks and countryside almost directly from the front door. There's a great range of amenities in the town and a very good park close to the house.

Perfect cottage for a family stay
This cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There was nothing we needed that wasn't present in the house. There was even a child safety gate which was a godsend to prevent the two year-old escaping up the stairs! The owner was most helpful settling any problems we had. All in all, a lovely cottage, in a charming village
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Fell View.
I've never heard of a stair gate being referred to as a godsend but I know what you mean.
We do try to ensure that the house is well equipped so that our guests have everything that they may need without having to transit tons of gear from their own homes.
Hopefully you found the park at the top of the street; it's ideal for younger children. There's also a number of open farms nearby which are all great fun.
Great place to stay
Flat was clean, great location for walking/ hiking in the fells. Also great location for day trips. Ross was very friendly and helpful.

We take considerable pride in the presentation and cleanliness of the house. Sedbergh is a lovely area to visit and if I can, I will always help out guests as much as possible so that they get the maximum benefit from staying at Fell View.
Ideal for short walking break .Owners really helpful.

There's loads of walks direct from the door that suit all levels of ability (and enthusiasm). I can give details of flat walks along the Rawthey and parts of the Cumbria Way as well as a range of walks in the Howgills.
Cozy, brilliantly equipped, fantastic location
One of the best holiday cottages I've stayed in. Large but cozy, definately the best equipped, great communication from Ross the owner. Amazing location, really felt like a home away from home. Thank you!
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide such a glowing assessment.
We've owned Fell View for 17 years now and have used it as a holiday let continuously. We originally bought the house because we loved the area and we're continually having our family holidays there. It's a lovely location particularly if you want interesting walks directly from the door or if you have small children that want to splash about in rivers and streams.
We don't always get everything right but do try to respond to the comments and suggestions that our guests make.
I'm delighted that you've enjoyed our house as much as we do.
Ideal size for 5 and a few mins walk to the middle of the village.
great place to stay for local walking and big enough for 5. a few mins from a great walk up to the Winder and other walks nearby. only down side is car parking is a bit like playing a game of will i get a space near the house or in the next road over :) as the next road up is just a few mins walk it was ok.

Fell View is a 19th century terrace house. I don't think the planners envisaged on street parking. So saying, we've owned the house for 17 years now and there's only been one occasion when I've not been able to park near the door.
The availability of parking spaces varies during the day as people come and go from work and other activities.
An ability to reverse park is a definite bonus.
Had a really comfortable stay, lovely views of the fells. Cottage very well equipped. Would definitely recommend it.
Sedbergh has a full range of local shops, 3 pubs, restaurants. cafes and takeaways.
Fell View is 200m from the high street and very quiet.
