Beautiful views and lovely home for our holiday

  • 5 of 5

The Cider Press is a fantastic place to stay within easy reach of Bath and so many other beautiful towns, villages and famous sights. The hosts are lovely and incredibly kind and helpful. We are a family of four - including a four-year-old boy and six-year-old girl. Our children loved it - including playing in the garden and eating outside on the terrace. The Cider Press isn't massive but it feels really roomy with high quality kitchen and bathroom plus plenty of beautiful wood everywhere including staircase and floors. Our children slept in the double bed upstairs while we were on the sofa bed downstairs, but we could easily have fitted in our travel beds for our children upstairs if had wanted so we could have the very comfy proper double bed. There were many highlight to the week. We did a fantastic sunny walk round the valley stopping for lunch at the Quarryman's Arms and enjoying the lovely village play park. We visited the Roman Baths, headed over to SS Great Britain in Bristol and even drove to Stonehenge (a very easy and scenic 1 hour drive). We also loved Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and Laycock Abbey. There were so many other things to see and do which we'll have to save for next time! Highly recommended if you are looking for a country retreat near lots of brilliant places.

Wonderful cotttage

  • 5 of 5

A very comfy and well equipped cottage in a tranquil, picturesque location. Within easy walking distance of the village for shops and pubs. Good base for exploring the surrounding area and the many houses and gardens open to the public.

Highly recommended.

Stunning cottage and lovely owners - I've already recommended it to friends and family.

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic warm welcome we received when we arrived at the Cider Press. Both Jim and Deb were really helpful and made us feel relaxed and at home from the start. The cottage is beautifully presented to a high standard and the little personal touches like eggs fresh from the hens just finishes it all of perfectly.

We only stayed for a few days, but I'm looking forward to returning and perhaps staying a little longer. Our daughter really loved playing with Jim and Deb's daughter who is just a couple of years older and they disappeared outside to look at the ducklings and play in the garden every morning until we were ready to go out for the day - I think it may have been the highlight of her holiday!

My wife has limited mobility and impaired vision, but she managed OK with only a little help to negotiate the couple of steps outside the property and one inside on the ground floor and the sofa bed proved to be an invaluable asset.

I've recommended the Cider Press to family and friends for when they're planning to venture to this part of the country and hopefully will be back some time this summer.

5 Stars for everything! Thanks Deb and Jim (and M).

Private getaway in a beautiful spot

  • 5 of 5

Tasteful conversion hidden away with beautiful views and helpful owners. Nothing was too much trouble, we were provided with hints on great pubs and walks, and felt completely at home.

It was lovely in October but I imagine it is rather special in any season, would love to go back with snow on the ground! Highly recommended.

Sweet apartment in a quiet area

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place. The apartment is close to Bath and other sights but a wonderful quiet place to relax in the evenings. It's on a small farm with beautiful views. We felt very safe there. Even though it's a studio apartment, we felt there was plenty of room to stretch out. It's newly refurbished but kept it's old world charm. The owners are very kind and helpful too. We would recommend this place to any couple looking for a place with lots of charm.
