Ski Chalet in Portes du Soleil Area, Nr. Morzine, Rhone Alps, France - Beautifully Presented In A Lovely Location
The property is furnished to a very high standard and benefits from a lovely bright living area featuring a contemporary wood-burning stove, dining area and fully fitted modern kitchen including dishwasher. Laundry room with washer and dryer, garage and ample parking for 2 cars. Sliding French doors give access to a sunny south facing decked area. Situated on a hillside enjoying delightful views the property is ideal for both summer and winter holidays. Located in the beautiful village of St Jean d Aulps, within walking distance of the Grande Terche Ski Station and within easy reach of Morzine. St Jean is self contained with restaurants, bars and a small supermarket.

About Frances Nichol
We are two families, the Nichols and the Wolfes and we live in Northumberland in the UK. We have 3 lively girls between us and have been really good friends for a long time. We have always enjoyed an outdoor life and now the girls are all old enough to enjoy skiing we are hoping to have lots of fun holidays together in the chalet in the years to come. We also hope to enjoy summer breaks and take advanatge of the wonderful area around the chalet.

Why Frances Nichol chose Saint-Jean-d'Aulps
We have been here on holiday a number of times and always loved the area. Such a lovely country feel but with great places to eat so close by and lots to do. The skiing is great with such a variation of slopes for all abilities, plus the ski schools are great and the children have loved going. The distance from Geneva to the chalet is a comfortable drive which is a big advantage. We have loved our holidays in the area so much we decided to buy so we can come more often.
What makes this Chalet unique
The property has everything we need to enjoy our stay, its so comfortable, roomy and cosy. Its ideal to come home to in the winter with the wood burner and in the summer with the outdoor area to eat outside. The children are entertained with the wii and dvds. So while they are off having fun we can relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the wonderful views.

Clean, modern chalet in a quiet location
We stayed in this chalet for a long skiing weekend in February. It was clean, spacious, well equiped and warm - perfect for our stay. It is in a quiet location between the Grande Terche ski area of Portes De Soleil and the village of St Jean D'Aulps where there are plenty of shops, including a large Carrefour supermarket. We had a car during our stay, and I assume that you could also use the ski bus but unless there is a short cut, walking to the ski lifts with your equipment would probably be too far. We would definitely recommend this chalet and would be happy to stay again.
Wonderful property, superbly well equipped
This is a great chalet which we have used on a number of occasions and fully intend to use again.
The bedrooms are comfortable and the layout of the property lends itself to a variety of combinations of people staying.
It is very well equipped and allows for home cooking but is also well placed for eating out. We love this place.
A Wonderful Christmas- Excellent
The chalet was immaculate and just as described. Warm, cosy and lovely furnishings.
The kitchen was really well equipped, we love to cook! There was plenty of room for for the 3 adults and 2 teenage children. The carport area, ski storage space and the additional fridge were very useful. The beds and bedding were very comfortable.
The views from the front of the property is stunning, the balcony with the fairy lights is a lovely feature. We enjoyed walking up to the Ski Station and using the shop and restaurants there( 10 mins walk- uphill but pleasant) We also walked down to the lovely village of St. Jean d’aulps, 30 minuted. The village has a very well equipped mini supermarket, boulangerie and a few bars/ restaurants. We were really fortunate with the excellent snow conditions so early in the season. The skiing was great and the slopes are not as busy as bigger neighbouring resorts.
The owners were really helpful, flexible with our requests, fresh linen was provided half way through our stay.
We look forward to returning this year

We have just spent two weeks at this chalet. It is very well equipped, with more than enough cutlery, crockery and kitchen equipment. The location was stunning, and the local village, small but with most things available.We managed trips to Switzerland and Italy, as well as Chamonix, Annecy and Moraine. There are also lovely places not far from the chalet, make sure you have a wild flower book! The roadsides are stunning. The owners Jenni and Frances, dealt with any questions etc. very quickly, which is not always the case. We would definitely book the chalet again, if we went back to the French Alps.
Lac Leman is nearest coast/beach and is 20 minutes drive away.
Geneva Airport 1.15 minutes drive approx.
The chalet is within the village of Saint Jean D'Aulps, and a short drive from Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets to name but a few.
Saint Jean D'Aulps has restaurants, bars, pharmacy, mini supermarket and cash point.
There is a large supermarket on the drive into Morzine and also a fuel station.
The area is lovely in summer months as well as during the ski season and has a lot of activities all year round.
Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoe walking, Bob Luge, Cross country skiing.
Canoeing, Golf, Fishing, Hiking, Cycling, Paragliding, Horse riding and many more. There is a beauticians and spa locally, and Morzine has an outdoor swimming pool.

Booking Notes: 30% non refundable deposit required at time of booking. Balance due 8 weeks before stay along with refundable security deposit of £250. All deposits will be returned within 2 weeks where applicable. Changeover Day: Changeover days preferably Friday or Saturday but out of peak times we can be flexible and also can offer short breaks, please contact us directly for prices.
