Warm and comfortable stay
Lovely house for big family gathering
Perfect accommodation for family reunions
The house exceeded all our expectations. It was well stocked with everything we needed. The Christmas tree and decorations gave us a warm welcome and the owner Ken, couldn’t have been more a abligeing.
The games rom was a hit with the children and adults.
Local pubs in close proximity and ideally situated for Gunwharf where ther were excellent restaurants, shopping and entertainment. 10 thumbs up.
A House for all seasons and reasons
This has been our third visit to this property. We have always been delighted, not easy to achieve being a family of 15 aged from 7 to 77. We particularly enjoyed the short walk along the road to see the new Aircraft Carrier. Fort Brockworth was also only a short walk away and was enjoyed by everyone.
A very well equipped property - we loved our stay!
Thank you we much enjoyed our stay in this interesting house. It was obvious the house was very well equiped for large numbers even though we did not need to use everything.
The bedrooms were very nice with lovely good quality beds and crispy white sheets and towels - and plenty of them! The games room at the back leading on to the garden was also a great success for us
The owner welcomed us and showed us around even though we arrived well after schedule on the Friday evening. We were all in all very impressed by the information given both before our arrival and during our stay.
The property was lovely
It was nicely decorated with comfortable beds and plenty of space for 12 people
Clean and well equipped.
We have enjoyed a family get together. We found the house had everything you could wish for. Only a couple of things to note in the kitchen were the kettle and oven tins could do with updating.
We all loved using the games room and the large dining table was ideal for some special meals altogether.
The Dairy House is situated within easy walking distances to Portsmouth Harbour and Stokes Bay Beach looking out over The Solent with views over to the Isle of Wight or you are a short drive to Lee on Solent and Hillhead beaches where you are likely to find the windsurfers, kitesurfers and jet skiers. With 24 miles of waterfront and fantastic viewing points you don't have to wander far to find the sea or you can also hop on a ferry for the 4 minute ride to Portsmouth or the Isle Of Wight beyond. The nearest airports are Southampton, approximately 30km away, or Bournemouth, around 80km, and Gatwick and Heathrow are the nearest London airports. You can train into Portsmouth Harbour and hop straight on the 4 minute ferry to Gosport where we are situated only 2km away from the terminal or alternatively into Fareham which is 7.5km from the house. A car is not essential but if you do drive we have off road parking and non paying, non permit street parking. The Dairy House is named as such as it was built by a local dairy owner who built his business in the area and the house had dairy connections up until the mid 1990's when it was bought by its current owner. The house is situated close to historic Portsmouth Harbour with its naval connections going back to Henry VIII, whos flagship the Mary Rose sank just outside Portsmouth Harbour in 1545 but was raised in the early 80's and is now being restored in the dockyard which is also home to Nelson's famous flagship HMS Victory 1765 and the first iron hulled warship HMS Warrior 1860. Hampshire is not just all about coastline and is proud to be one of Britain's most unspoilt counties, home to the New Forest National Park plus part of the glorious chalk based hills of the South Downs. The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and Hampshires other maritime city of Southampton are within the Hampshire boundary and Winchester was the 9th Century Saxon Capital of King Alfred's Kingdom, which are all within easy distance of the house.
