We feel so lucky to have a house in the heart of the lake district. It is just above the town , in a quiet cul de sac with views of the fells, yet only 3 minutes walk from the centre of town (five minutes to walk back!) and offering private parking. The house is equally suited to families or groups of adults and our family and friends use it as a base for walking, climbing, touring the area or just as a restful retreat. The town amenties include five cinema screens, multiple restaurants and bars, a park with tennis , bowls etc and a spa.

Glorious town and a perfect retreat.
This was our second stay in this property (4 years after the first) and remains perfect. An excellent location, clean with everything required as a ‘home away from home’. Washing and drying facilities being a much appreciated bonus.

Lovely Ambleside cottage
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It is in an excellent location, has good facilities on 4 floors and great views over Ambleside.
On arrival everywhere was clean, plenty of towels, kitchen well equipped and a lovely relaxing bathroom.
Would highly recommend this spacious property!
Great weekend break!
Great property with very good facilities. Modern bathroom and kitchen. Steep walk down to the town centre using the direct footpath route, but worth it for the central location.
Less than one mile to lakeside.
Buses 5 minute walk. Train station 5 miles (Windermere) with connections to Manchester and Manchester Airport.
Ambleside 0.2 miles. Windermere town 5 miles. Lake Windermere 0.8 miles. Langdale valley 6 miles.
Town: excellent amenities in Ambleside including shops, restaurants, bars, cinemas, park and spa. Country: superb walking and climbing in the immediate area+ places of interest - Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter homes , country parks.
