About Christine Barrows

We have tried to create a comfortable house with modern amenities yet retaining some period style. The location was chosen because of the superb views, proximity to the town and its excellent facilities.

Why Christine Barrows chose Windermere & Central Lakes

We feel so lucky to have a house in the heart of the lake district. It is just above the town , in a quiet cul de sac with views of the fells, yet only 3 minutes walk from the centre of town (five minutes to walk back!) and offering private parking.

The house is equally suited to families or groups of adults and our family and friends use it as a base for walking, climbing, touring the area or just as a restful retreat.

The town amenties include five cinema screens, multiple restaurants and bars, a park with tennis , bowls etc and a spa.

What makes this house unique

Total relaxation! Mountain walks and town amenities can both be reached without a car. Superb long distance views.

Utility Room: Spacious heated Drying Room with washer/dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen Towels and linen included. Weekly cleaning.

Beautiful comfortable home from home.

We spent 9 nights as a family of 5 at this lovely house. We found it to be spotlessly clean and every convenience you could want. The king size bed was really comfortable with lovely quality bed linen. The bathroom left me with Bathroom envy !! . A huge bath and very good shower.

There are beautiful views from all the rooms. We found the Wifi very good . The owner Christine was very pleasant to deal with and responded very quickly to any requests.

The house is up a very steep hill and it was great to have a designated parking spot. The area is very quiet and we slept well.

I would highly recommend this property for a very comfortable and pleasant stay. I would love to return.

Comfortable cottage in quiet location

Ambleside is one of our favourite locations - great for walkers of all abilities. The fells are a few minutes walk from the garden gate, an excellent starting point for short strolls as well as some more challenging routes and all day hikes. We made use of the buses too (new fleet and frequency of services made for a positive experience).

The cottage was just as others have reviewed; clean, comfortable and well equipped. I should imagine that during the colder months it is very warm and cosy. Had the weather been better, we would have used the BBQ and seating area at the top of the garden which is in sunshine for much of the day, but particularly during the evening.
