About Christine Barrows

We have tried to create a comfortable house with modern amenities yet retaining some period style. The location was chosen because of the superb views, proximity to the town and its excellent facilities.

Why Christine Barrows chose Ambleside

We feel so lucky to have a house in the heart of the lake district. It is just above the town , in a quiet cul de sac with views of the fells, yet only 3 minutes walk from the centre of town (five minutes to walk back!) and offering private parking.

The house is equally suited to families or groups of adults and our family and friends use it as a base for walking, climbing, touring the area or just as a restful retreat.

The town amenties include five cinema screens, multiple restaurants and bars, a park with tennis , bowls etc and a spa.

What makes this house unique

Total relaxation! Mountain walks and town amenities can both be reached without a car. Superb long distance views.

Great views!

Unfortunately we could only manage a short stay and with so much to explore we only scraped the surface but nevertheless we had a lovely break. The views from the windows are breath-taking.

It is a very spacious and comfortable house but perhaps in winter someone could make sure the central heating is already on so that it can be a warm and cosy welcome on first entering.

Fantastic cottage. Wonderful views.

We had a wonderful Christmas in this cottage. It was everything we hoped for. Highly recommended. Lovely spacious kitchen and dining area with woodburning stove. Cosy lounge. Bedrooms were tastefully decorated. We loved the deep bath and large bathroom. Just a short walk downhill to Ambleside (steep but not very far). We walked along the Coffin trail to Grasmere to buy the famous Grasmere gingerbread, climbed up Stockgill waterfalls and walked to Rydal. Snow on the mountains. Awesome. Thank you so much Christine for a lovely holiday.

Amazing appartment very close to the Centre of town. The apartment is very well equiped and has everything you needed especially in the kitchen. So if you looking for a place which you can stay in and cook a good meal this is definitely the place.

There is a wood fireplace in the kitchen which warms up the entire house. TV has Netflix which was great for the kids. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

incredible views!

Fantastic accommodation with everything you could need. Very cosy in the winter. The beds are super comfy and the bath is to die for! Ambleside really is 3 minutes walk away - you can get straight to the pubs and restaurants without driving.

Literally exactly what we were looking for from our trip. A beautiful idilic base for us to plan our walks. Everything that was promised and more. Would 100% recommend and we will hopefully be visiting again next year.

Central location and Well equipped house

We had stayed for 4 days in the house. The house was very cosy and comfortable. The owner had left us very clear instructions. Kitchen was very well equipped. The stay was perfect. Very central location to drive and walk around. Will definitely recommend the place.
