Villa Apartments in Santa Maria Estate Mellieha, Malta - Very Quiet Location With All Amenties Within 5 Minutes By Car And Beach Is Only A Stone's Throw Away

These units are all on different levels and has separate entrances for privacy. These are 4 units within the same compound but each unit has a different entrance and each has its own pool or Jacuzzi respectively. Unit 1 has a private pool 33' x 16'. Unit 2 has a private pool 20' x 11'. Unit 3 has a kidney shape private pool approx. 20' x 10' and has also a 5 person private Jacuzzi. Unit 4 has a private 5 person Jacuzzi.. The compound is situated in the exclusive Santa Maria Estate area. This is the most posh area in the Maltese islands. Mellieha bay is only 5 minutes away and recently the village of Mellieha was nominated European destination of excellence.

The Villa penthouse is situated right at the very top of the building complex

The views from the wrap around terraces are breath taking.You can enjoy the Jacuzzi at the same time while enjoying the views.

The private pool is situated on a lower level with plenty of Sunshine

The huge glass panes makes you feel that you are outside even if you are inside.

The kitchen / living / dining is huge! 1st bedroom is with 2 single beds and the master bedroom has a large double bed.

The master bedroom has air-conditioning and this is payable extra locally, however all the bedrooms have ceiling fans.

Please Note this property is not Wheelchair Accessible.

What a fantastic view!

We stayed in this property for a week with our 13 year old son. We used the pool and jacuzzi every day, as they were on different levels there was always one that got the sun! Sitting in the jacuzzi overlooking the bay was totally relaxing and one of the highlights of my holiday. Saviour was very attentive and ensured everything was clean and well maintained. The local area is beautiful but it is well worth hiring a car to see the rest of the island. Mellieha is a quite area of the island which suited us as the area around St Paul's, St Julians & Valletta were far too busy for our liking. My son did a half day diving course with Sea Shell diving who were excellent! We also hired a speed boat at Marfa Point, again they were excellent (I would avoid hiring a boat from O Yeah Cruises who messed us around for 3 days!!!!). A trip to Gozo is well worth the effort!!!

If you have mobility problems this may not be the property for you as it is at the top of the property with a narrow outside staircase for access, but the property does consist of other units that may be more suitable.

Overall an excellent holiday, the villa was fantastic and surpassed our expectations!

Loved it!!

Absolutely loved it here and really didn't want to leave. Loved the view from the upper balcony and the hot tub was a real bonus.

Because the outside area is over 2 levels there was normally some shade at some part of the day somewhere if needed. The pool tended to get quite warm but the outside showers could cool you if needed! The pool obviously isn't the largest but you won't get much better if at all for a family of 4 and was all we needed.The air conditioning in the main bedroom was very effective but you do need to pay extra for this but definitely needed in August. The family do also provide fans.

All communications before and during our stay were very prompt and any issues were dealt with straight away (nothing major).

We would recommend hiring a car if you want to see more of the island and we hired one from the family for 2 weeks which included our transfers and took it across to Gozo for our second week. If you don't have a car you can get a bus down to the bay or walk it in approx. 20-30 mins. Mellieha is definitely one of the nicest areas of Malta.

A lovely break

We had a lovely holiday and the weather was good for the time of year. Most places are within walking distance (we recommend ' The Cross Keys' with its pool table, which the kids loved and excellent cocktails, which we loved). There is also a very good bus service to the lovely sandy cove and other areas of interest.

Our only disappointment was the jacuzzi. When we read the review from October 2013 which said 'The hot tub was a bonus and a great way to relax admiring the view after a day sight seeing' we assumed it would be 'hot', but sadly this is no longer the case, it is now a 'cold' tub.

Anyway, we didn't let that spoil our holiday it would have just been the cherry on top! We just didn't fancy donning wet suits in order to withstand the cool temperature.

Owner's Response: thank you for your lovely comments on the property. in March this year it was windy so expected to be cool temperatures. The Jacuzzi (not a hot Tub) is on the north terrace so in March it is a bit shaded from the sun. As from Mid April the sun is in a much higher position so plenty of sunshine at the Jacuzzi. I am glad you have enjoyed swimming in the private pool since this is an all year round in sunshine it makes it more pleasant to swim in it even in March. thank you again for staying with us and we Hope to welcome you in one of our properties sometime again in the future. We absolutely loved staying here. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The accomodation was excellent, the views amazing. Loved having the private pool. The apartment is within walking distance of the local town and short driving distance of beaches and great historical sites. The area was quiet at night, so calm and peaceful to relax in the evening. Would definitely recommend.

the owner was extremely helpful and the property is lovely the only down side is the air conditioning is only in the main bedroom and you have to pay a extra 70 euros for it which it does not state in the advertisement

Mellieha bay is only 5 minutes away by walk. Golden bay is about 15 minutes drive from the property.


Car hire is recommended however not necessary. The buses runs frequently and the nearest bus stop is about 1 minute away by foot.


Mellieha village is about 20 minutes by walk or 5 minutes by car away. there is also a tourist information office in the village and all the amenities one might need.

In Mellieha there is all kinds of shops such as Supermarkets, excellent restaurants fresh fish daily) Pubs with Karaoke (good place to meet fellow holiday makers).

Outside: The outside areas are sweeped and cleaned regularly as leaves fall from trees all the time. Pools and jacuzzis are monitored everyday for the upkeep of the water.
