Space 3,821 sq. ft.

Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Our house has large picture windows overlooking the pristine waters and marshes all the way to the gulf. There are terraces to sit out and enjoy the sun and the sunset which happens right out front. There’s a private dock that takes you to the waters edge, where you can canoe or fish from; and to our own island with a picnic table. There are a couple of public boat ramps, the closest being 1/2 mile away, and there is plenty of space to park a boat trailer on the property.

The house has 3 nice sized rooms with 4-poster beds and ceiling fans. The Library, is a common room between the rooms where you can sit and read or enjoy the view and some solitude. While in the living room and dining room you can enjoy TV or talking with your friends while preparing a meal in the open kitchen. There is a Florida room that runs parallel to the living / dining room. With 3,650 square feet of space, this house is spacious enough for large groups, family reunions and entertaining with friends.

If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is well prepared for you.

There is lots of land and privacy for you to stroll around the property.

If you are looking to unwind and enjoy nature, this place will afford you the peace and quiet.

Homosassa has many water activities on offer, such as, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, air boating, scalloping, swimming with the manatees and going for a swim in the gulf’s warm waters. There are also many homestyle restaurants with an emphasis on fresh seafood. There are also a number of attractions to keep you, your family and friends busy.

We look forward to welcoming you.

About Charlie

I was born in Brasil and have lived around the world, including China, where I am currently. I've been in the restaurant business for a long time (luckily I really enjoy it). And Homosassa was where our traveling family used to meet for our annual gatherings.

Charlie purchased this house in 2010

Why Charlie chose Old Homosassa

This house and property is secluded and in the midst of nature, which seems to bring out the best in our family. We can adventure out into the marshes and gulf for fishing, paddling around or swimming or go for a stroll around the property / neighborhood. There is plenty of space to be together and still have time apart.

What makes this house unique

Being at this house allows me to enjoy the surrounding nature. Sitting up on the 2nd floor watching the sunset or sun bathing during the day. Fishing off the dock with my kids and family. Shopping for fresh seafood to bring home or eat in the local restaurants. It all leads to a slower pace of life and enjoyment of the moment. There are 2 public boat ramps, the closest being 1/2 mile away, and plenty of space to park your boat trailer.

Winter get away

The view is real. The home is pristine. Everything a traveler could want is there. We arrived a little early and the caretaker was just finishing up cleaning from the previous renter. They could not have been more helpful and informative about area activities and dining. We'll definitely keep this one on our list to revisit.

Can't overstate the beauty, peach, and quiet this home provides.

We had an amazing time. Everything about the house, property was outstanding. Gorgeous views from both inside and out. We stayed 5 days and wish we had stayed longer. Spending time outside by the water, hanging out in the house when we weren't out with the manatees or exploring all the other wildlife the area has to offer. The house and property was so spacious and private. The silence, other than birds, may have been my favorite part. The house was too big for us two. If I had a complaint, it was just finding our way through the house the first day! Loved the style, decor, views... True luxury accommodations. We would love to definitely come back to this house some day. Very sad the day we had to leave... If you love nature, solitude, this is the place!

Impressive views-unique spacious home-so welcoming -hated to leave!

We were just amazed by this house. From the posts we saw it did not prepare us for the actual home. Such spacious common rooms with unique decor - loved the kitchen layout and plenty of dishes/silverware for any size group. You can tell there is a chef's hand involved in the appliances/cookware- how could you Not enjoy making a feast there!

The beds were all very comfy and we loved each of those rooms. The master bath with enormous shower! I could go on and on...

We arrived in the dark and could not wait for morning to see the view. So crazy beautiful! In spite of cool temps we had to walk the dock ( which I called pier) first thing with our coffee and in our pjs.

Wishing we could stay longer and would love to return! Thank you for an Excellent stay- we were the envy of all our family who stayed hotels. :).

This house has so much character and was perfect for our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. Very spacious and tastefully decorated. The pictures posted don’t do the Home justice. It’s truly one of the most comfortable and inviting homes we’ve ever rented. Charlie and Dave were great to work with as well,

Incredible house, incredible view.

Plenty of room and everything you need for your stay. Even with the rain, being downstairs or on the back porch, the view provided the relaxation we needed. Old Florida at its best.
